shitty lighting. The lightbox filter material i chose blocks too much light, and ive got the wrong color bulbs in there. I thought i grabbed daylight bulbs at the store, but turns out they are regular ol warm LEDs. I adjusted the WB a bit, i think this is better. Although still not quite right -

so this is my first attempt at doing anything with a dslr. I have no idea what im doing beyond a beginning understanding of aperture, iso, and shutterspeed. -
Another positive for Duymon. One of the v2's had the tiny clear part on the inside of the right wing go missing during shipping, so he found me a replacement and shipped it out pronto!

ah, you were the guy that bought the one valkyrie that I didn't buy (since i've just recently acquired a roy from Arcadia) lol. Both of mine from duy were cracked but he told us they would very likely be. If I were you i'd just go ahead and buy whatever it is you think you might need if you want to get that thing fixed soon. The pieces from shapeway all ship in a big ass box, no matter if your parts are just in a tiny baggie like mine were.

So i started my v2 rainbow canopy surgeries today to give them all new shoulders.......before, i had a couple of 1/48s and v1s that i bought back in the very early 00s and hadn't really messed around with them for years until i went on my recent spree. Man, Yamato was really a crap-ass company, weren't they? All these issues, all these fixes, all of this need for CAD capable folks and 3D Printers for homebrew repairs.....I feel like Yamato got way more love than they ever should have. -
then it seems like the latest round of veef's shoulders are being misprinted by shapeways, then. does anyone know of what sort of modification we might be able to do to make them lay flat? Maybe veef has some insight there....

I just started the valk surgery to install these and to my horror, the shapeways shoulders hole for the pin is so tiny. the original pin won't fit! Does someone have some advice on how to get around this? Replacement pins, or somehow drilling out the shoulder pinhole? I have a 1s sitting here in pieces and its making me nervous. I would have never have attempted this had I known the pin wasn't going to fit. Edit: ok, i just forced the pins through and they cleared out the hole. So that's that. However, it raises another question. These new hinges don't fold down quite flat like the ones on the toy do. I don't know if that's normal, and the arms dont seem to be drooping down in fighter, but i wonder if it will cause stress on the locking points between the legs and backpack.

i realize this thread is old but I too was looking for these and found this on shapeways. i know you were asking for original yamato shoulders, but the original ones were apparently crap. any replacement you get off shapeways is going to be better.

want some parts, i have an incoming Max 1/48 super which MAY be missing a nosecone and a gunpod, and who knows what else. Does anyone have a junk 1/48 that they would be willing to part with? Or just a nose cone. I can do without the gunpod.

Things mostly seemed like a decent deal compared to what I see people normally asking for on ebay. I had wanted the 1J supers and the low vis valks but everytime i saw one someone would be asking 400 bucks BIN or more with killer shipping. I started the low vis off at 150 but that was the absolute max i wanted especially after already winning the max and miria supers. I think it sold for 190.

Oh. Yeah, that sounds like it might be the case, then. I was excited to get a bit of a deal on a couple of nice 1/48s, but now it's just a bit sad. Well, at least a couple of them are going to a good home. Edit: I don't think it was the user Scream Man. He last posted on Oct 3rd, and was showing as active just Yesterday on the forum.

Tonight there was an estate auction on ebay that featured a TON of Macross 1/48 and 1/60 Yamatos. I won the 1/48 max and miria, but that's not what this thread is about. One of the items that was NOT available for bidding online (onsite only) was 4 large tubs full of custom valkyrie parts, broken pieces, spares, etc. Which made me think - if the owner of this estate had all that, then they were very likely to have been a member here at some point. The auction is in Little Rock, Arkansas. Does anyone know of a member from that area that hasn't been heard from in a long time? Sorry if this is morbid or the wrong forum for the question.

i use a ton of the Tamashii Act5 stands and that trident stand for Robot Damashii. Word of warning - if you position it in such a way that it puts a lot of horizontal stress on the tubes (arm laid way back, etc) they WILL crack from the stress and loosen considerably. My RD Sinanju hit the deck one day last year and nearly gave me a heart attack.
