How are you all able to tell that the 1/100 Valk is a bootleg?
I saw a 1/100 Valkyrie toy of that general quality (might have been a Takatoku, or a Matsushiro, or a Roboticjet--see below) for sale online without a head. I can't find the page anymore.
(I'm now pretty sure the Roboticjet was the first Valkyrie I ever had, based on the weird gun it came with. Mine was stolen back in 1986.
) I think Totoro242 is talking about the alpha fighter, not the vf-1j. I don't know if there there ever was a bootleg of these as I never saw one, but who knows?

the alpha is the smaller three mode non-diecast one. The one that supposedly was designed to atach to the never made beta. Jwinges can tell you more but you probably don't want to hear it. Fun in a poorly made sort of way.
Actually the alpha is the diecast version that only transforms to robot and gerwalk modes. That's why it looks the way it does when the seller tried to transform it to fighter mode. Notice the shine on the shoulder parts, plastic don't shine like metal does. And the canopy is actually clear. The non-diecast version has the canopy paint white if I'm not wrong.

ooh man exo squad was a bomb @$$ cartoon. I use to watch that series along with ronin warriors and afterwards I'd stop by the local toys r us and pick up an E-Frame and a ronin warrior figure. The E-Frames were hella cool. My favorite was wolf bronski's E-Frame, he just kicked @$$!! I wish they would put these episodes on dvd as I was never able to finish watching the series.
Maybe someday they'll put everything on dvd.

Man, how can anybody compare the 1/48 to the MPC?!?!? There's no competition there. For one the 1/48 is bigger, more detailed, and doesn't use the old hip joints to transform. Ugh, people these days!

-
No thanx, I'll stick with the OG one on super NES.

-
Sheesh, makes me want to sell my small cyclones now. I wish I knew that these were going to be worth alot that I could've bought a whole box of these for like 4 each. Maybe I'll put it up just make some money!

For me, toys mean alot to me. As a kid, I never got the toys I wanted. So now I have the money to buy all the toys I want, even though it costs like arm and leg. I've always wanted macross toys so the closes thing that came out that was cheap were the Joons. I didn't buy them all only because I didn't want to waste my money on them. I started buying all the models that came out because those were able to transform. I got really excited about those. One day I went to my friend's house and looked at his nice collection and noticed his transformers collection and that started bringing back memories for me. So I started buying the ones I've always wanted first. Once that was done, I got hooked and started buying only the first series ones. Even after that, I started buying all the combiners. It just didn't stop. I kept going and going, so now I have a large collection of transformers. Even more than macross. But macross didn't have that many robots, so it's ok. So now I just came to a point in my life were I need to save up for the future and cut back on the toys. I've been doing so and just buying the ones I really need like the 1/48 VF-1S. I think I'ma skip the yamato elint and super O unless bandai releases them. I'm also running out of room right now so it's getting pretty packed in my room right now. So no matter what happens, I'll still be buying toys till the day the world stops making toys!

What artbook did you get those pix from? and can you show me what the cover looks like? I might wanna look for this book. thanx

-
I don't know, to me that doesn't look right. I'll just stick with the normal stuff. I've thought doing the whole double strike thing, but after seeing the pix for it, it just turned me off. Oh well....

-
I thought there were plans for a 12 inch action figure.
Also think how much people pay for a 4 inch Gundam Fix. This is not so bad
awww come on now. Your comparing gundam fix series to gungrave? Of course people would buy the fix series. There's so much more accessories and parts to play with, and not to mention it's has metal parts. So for a 8" inch figure, that's pretty expensive. Not even monav the gale figure was that much and he was huge! He was also very detailed and only cost 30 bucks! Hopefully the price will change for this nice piece.

-
man, if anything should be done right, it's ratchet and ironhide!! If those were made to transform like the cartoon and look like the cartoon, I'd be all over that!

-
Wow, a new OVA series of Patlabor is coming out? Does anybody know when it's coming out?
-
all I know is when yamato gets around to making this toy, it better be big! Maybe bigger then the 1/48's! that would be lovely!

-
yeah, that's a wee bit pricey. Now if that was a 12" figure, that would be a different story! I may pick this up. It has got to look very good in person that it will convince me to pay 50 bucks for it.

-
too bad the same can't be said about his stablemate Energon Prime Speaking of which heres a link to super clear pictures of his combinned mode with components
My god, that is so ugly!! It's beginning to look alot more like power ranger style mechs now. Yuk!!! I'll just stick with the G1 stuff thank you.

-
beautiful, just plain beautiful!!! Good job J!!!

well, for one thing, the print quality is a little lower than than the original. Some of the pictures are brighter than the others. Stuff like that. The bootlegs usually use a cheaper quality paper to print out the bookcovers from what I've seen. And the biggest difference is of course the price. I always say if the price is too good to be true then it's a bootleg. The average cost of this book should be 40 bucks. I bought mine straight from a japanese bookstore. Anything less is a bootleg, unless it's a used one, but yeah.....

Does the video stop at 56 seconds for anyone else? Actually.....around 56 seconds it loops to the beginning. Why are those kids flying in space? Hahahahaha. The Unicron sculpt does look like it's straight from Armada....nice work.
those kids aren't flying in space, well they are, but it's cyber space. They got pulled into cyber space and that part where they are flying is towards the end of the episode where they are leaving. That's when unicron appears and seems like he's chasing them. That's unicron's first appearence in the show. Can't wait till he fully comes out.

-
Man, I feel that Marvel has stooped to the lowest level now by doing this. That is so weak. Marvel used to be all original stuff, and people copy their stuff. But now they end up copying other people's stuff. That's just so weak sauce. I guess that's another reason why I got out of collecting comics. <_
-
you can try and find some bootleg copies. they are just as good as the originals. The whole set I believe is like 50 bucks.

-
speaking of unicron Fantofan.org has just uploaded a file from micron legend highlighting the great chaos bringer himself in animated form which hasb't been seen in America yet
wow, that looked really good! I love the way the ad was copied straight from the cartoon. That was cool. Makes me want to buy the toy even more!

-
it's funny to see all these valks and fastpacks with no stickers on them!!

Come on people, put some stickers on!! It'll look better!!
-
anybody got any pix of these?
-
Holy cow Chan!! 8 freakin 1/48 valks and 8 fastpacks?? dang, you got enough 1/48's there? If my memory serves me right, you were the one who posted your very impressive and expensive collection on the old forums collection page? You also showed us your M3. Was that you? I'm pretty sure it was. Dang, it must be nice to be rich.......

actually I was referring to the alpha fighter. Well, I looked at the site that Totoro242 provided us and it looks like to be the 1/55 3 mode change. I never saw these before. Does anybody have any of these? And if you do, can you give us a little review on it and post pix as well? I never new about these and would like to know more about it. Thanx
