  1. obviously, the comics are not canon, since Hicks and Newt are alive. i guess the only things that can be considered canon are the movies. afterall, if they took the comics into account, Hal Jordan, Kyle Raynor (both Green Lanterns), Superman and Batman, along with the Terminators would all have mixed it up with the Xenomorphs.

It could be the other way around.... as the comics were around before the movies. And most ppl agree..... the comics are by far more canon then Alien 3 and 4, simply because they were how the story was supposed to play out. <_<

theres absolutely no arguing with that since 3 and 4 were absolutely horrible. i would like to think Hicks and Newt, two of my favorite characters from the series, were still alive. i couldn't and still can't believe that they killed off these characters.

edit: oops, forgot the Wild C.A.T.S and Stormwatch.....other teams which have fought the Aliens....

  3. Alien 3 was supposed to resemble the comic much more. But I don't know how much fun that would be either..... it would also involve a mercenary alien, one of those found in the original ship, plus earth was supposed to be over run by Aliens.

some of the Dark Horse Comics had that happen. pretty great stuff. they were later also adapted into some novels. the comics, of course never had Newt and Hicks die, so they were the focus of the stories, with ripley showing up late in the story to help retake earth, after a religious cult smuggled alien eggs to earth, as i recall....

i always did wonder where the "Space Jockey" alien from the first movie came from...that thing was huge.

  4. i liked the movie edition, for the Guld-Ghost dogfight and for the better ending. theres also a bit fo fanservice, if you're into that sort of thing. i do think it helps trim some of the fat off the OVA. unfortunately, it trims Isamu's space battle at the beginning, which was one of my favorite parts...

  5. For some reason.... I'm getting really really bad flashbacks from back last year when ppl started attacking Drifand for the same arguments. It was one heck of a big fight... and it started much like this.

The only difference is that yamato knight Fudrom isn't here.

yeah, i remember that. got kinda ugly. this should stop.

  6. The VF-0 looks great to me, technologically superior ? Maybe, consider it was in limited production at that time, The VF-1 in the original series was the mass produced one, so maybe it got some gadgets removed in order to made them cheaper for mass producing purposes.

One question, the VF-1 could reach space under it's own power in TV series episode-3, while the VF-0 being a test bed for the thermonuclear turbines, I quess the VF-0 are limited to atmospheric use then :D

The FAST pack......did the VF-0 has any FAST pack ? Or maybe a Full Armor variant ? B) That would be great :D

i would think that since it still uses fuel, that it would need air to spark combustion, therefore not allowing for use in a nonatmospsheric setting.

  7. Does anyone have the M7 license to make toys? With the movie, ova, and enorce episodes and manga I'm surprised there aren't toys for it.

i think bandai still has it and isn't planning to let it go.

  8. They could work on it now thru the release of the M&M 1Js (does anyone think Yamato will pass on up those variants?) sometime in 2004.

damn! then that would mean M&M TV style Fast packs, sold separately!!!

    damn you Yamato!!!

  9. hmm. i don't know, but i do know that the Xenomorphs are supposed to be silicon based organisms and humans are carbon. plus, under the head, there is an extra set of jaws. the only way humans and aliens are related is in the abomination that is Alien Resurrection (they showed this on AMC today...i am still upset), where aliens are cloned somehow from a deceased ellen ripley. also, it is known that aliens take some characteristics from the species they come out of, such as the dog alien in alien 3.

  10. i was thinking a Harry Turtledove type thing, where the countries at war in 1914-1918 use variable technology from space to fight the first world war! but i see where you're coming from!!

of course, they would adapt the tech in terms of what they had back then, bi-planes, early tanks and all that...

  11. Boba Fett was never cool. Did you see how he died?

You're damn right. Personally, I think he's the most overrated character in the Star Wars movies. Just a two bit thug that think's he's God with a blaster. I'm glad he got his ass handed to him by Han Solo (the same goes for his loser dad).

yeah, i loved the way Mace too that fool down. and i would rather Boba had stayed dead. the character design was great, i loved the mandolorian Armor, but Boba and Jango were worthless as characters.
