I've got the Unicorn as well and they do indeed display quite well together, though the Unicorn perhaps has a bit of... crotch armor envy . I really love how the Rezel is marked 'R008', Romeo 8, just like Riddhe's suit in the OVA.

One reason I love AmiAmi is for their great customer service. I had a bit of a problem with the last order I received and they got back to me the same day with a solution. Simply brilliant. In regards to the topic, I've got a VF-1S Strike Hi-Metal on the way from AmiAmi and a Toynami Tactical Battlepod from Amazon. Yes, battles will be fought when they both arrive .

Haha, like charger69 hinted, he's a RGZ-95 ReZEL, most recently appearing in the Gundam Unicorn OAV. He's from the Gundam Fix Figuration Next Gen toy line and has a transformation as well, I like it quite a bit. Do you mean that one of the large panels on the bottom had trouble locking? There's a couple reasons I can think of why that may be. The most likely culprit is that your legs are not laying down perfectly flat. I had a LOT of trouble doing this reliably at first until I discovered all the tiny things that can cause that to happen. First, make sure that the extra gerwalk joint at the knees have been completely retracted. That joint is very tight and can take some force to make sure it is pushed in all the way, I had one occasion where I thought I had retracted it properly but there was actually one more 'click' to go. Also, both shoulder armors on the arms needs to be angled up towards the nose of the plane, if they are angled down towards the engines it will block the legs from laying in their perfect spot as well. Lastly try to check that the fingers of the hands are not blocking the feet from laying down flat as well. They do indeed slide out more, but I read somewhere that they are only supposed to be completely pulled out for gerwalk mode, while for battroid you retract them one click for better stability. This kind of reduces the angle on the ankles and it really does make it easier to balance the battroid when you do this, as the battroid is pretty top heavy but the feet are so tiny.

Max and Miria have arrived to accompany Gamlin! For some reason, I just love the white highlights on M&M, especially that stripe on the tail. Poor Gamlin, however, feels a bit like an odd man out now, going to need to get a YF-21 or something to keep him company. Or perhaps Yamato has a Mylene VF-11MAXL in mind for after the VF-19 Kai? I'm sure Gamlin would prefer that!

Yeah, but from the pictures it looks like it's upside down (or upright depending on how you look at it ) on both sides. No big deal though, I just ordered one anyways. Only VF-1s I own are the 1/48 Low-Vis and an old 1/55, so I figured it's about time to expand on that a bit.

Seems like they got the UN Spacy marking on the gunpod upside down. Still looks great though!

Perhaps he figured the missiles in the super packs were good enough for grunts. Now that I think about it, pretty much all the Mac7 valks seem to be lacking hardpoints, which doesn't seem too bad since they all had super packs or internal missile storage, but it'd hamper their use of reaction weaponry. They did sling that nuke onto Max's VF-22S though.

If AmiAmi ends up having the best price, I can say that their back-order service is excellent. I put in a back-order for both Max & Miria's VF-22S and they filled it in just three days.

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Keiichi replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can't speak to specific differences, as I haven't seen much info on the Metal Build 00 (still a ways til release), but a large part of the cost of the Unicorn was likely due to the fact that it could transform between Unicorn and NT-D mode. Usually pretty expensive to engineer something like that. Metal Composites are the top of the GFF line, are 1/100 scale and generally have a fair amount of diecast (usually for the frame). GFF Next is the latest iteration of the 'regular' GFF line and is in 1/144 scale, it features much improved plastic and build quality over the original GFF line. The original plain jane GFF line had a tendency to suffer quality-wise, resulting in many figures being best used as static display pieces rather than something you could comfortably play with. I've got a GFFN RGZ-95 Rezel on the way and I can't wait! Didn't really think too much of the design at first but then I saw the Unicorn OVA and well, you know how it goes .- 5869 replies

Fantastic price on that VF-22S, that's not including shipping is it? Because if it is, that's a ridiculously fantastic price . Would have jumped on that deal myself if I hadn't JUST bought both Max and Miria last night from AmiAmi. Also, don't sell Alphonse! You know you'll regret it when he's gone!

Managed to score Unit 2 at BBTS for just $230! Placed my order last night and got the shipping notice just now. I wanted to spread the news yesterday but right after I placed my order the listing changed to 'Sold Out', so I may have got the last one. The blue CLAT Ingram is available for $272, but that seems pretty steep. Also, if you're looking for something to display with the 1/24 Ingrams (until the Pit-Road command car comes out), I found that the Transformer Alternator Prowl is a great partner to the Ingrams. He is in 1/24 scale as well and has the general paint scheme of a Japanese patrol car. The Binaltechs Prowl or Autorooper would be ideal, as they have proper Japanese police markings on them, but they go for over $100 compared to the $30 a loose Alt. Prowl will cost you on ebay (which is how I got mine).

Greetings all, I've finally gotten one of these valks myself and of course I've been spending all night doing transformations. I'm on my way back from battroid to fighter and I've gotten stuck at the very end, where I need to put the legs in place. I've been using VF5SS' as a guide, and I've gotten to the point in the guide (about 6 minutes in) where he is disengaging the diecast bar that the legs are attached to (just before he starts to put them into their proper place). My problem is that I'm not sure which way I should be pushing the bar in order to disengage it, common sense tells me I just need to push down on it, but it feels very firm and I don't want to use too much force. Being the idiot that I am, I can't remember what the original position of that bar was. Also, getting the backpack to lock back in with the nose of the aircraft was very scary, I thought for sure that the little tab on the middle of the back was going to get snapped off! EDIT: Haha, success! I watched peolesdru's YF-21 transformation video, and saw that I just needed to go backwards in the transformation a bit so I could get a better hold of the bar to disengage it.

That's perfect, thanks jenius. -
Got my Unit 1 in. What can I say that hasn't already been said? It deserves all the praise it gets, I'm just blown away by the quality of the figure. Also happy to report that my waist joint is nice and tight. I notice that Unit 1 was reissued just a few months after release, perhaps they tightened up the joint for the reissues. Oh, if someone could perhaps clarify something for me; there is a page of extra instructions, telling you how to load the gun and not to eat the silica etc., but what exactly are they telling you not to do in the second and third instructions? I'm guessing the second one is to not rotate the arm by holding onto the shoulder armor, and the third is to not pull out the cloth covering the leg.

I agree with ruskii, gerwalk would be my first choice. If you have the time however, some shots of the RD next to a battroid Monster would also be appreciated. -

Great review, jenius. Hadn't been interested in this at all, but after watching/reading your review I'm sorely tempted. Could you perhaps take some pictures of it standing next to a Robot Damashii VF-25? -

Man, I gotta get a pen with rainbow colored ink like Sheryl's. -
Just ordered an Alphonse myself! Been out of the toy scene for a while, and I figure a 1/24 Ingram is a good way to get back into it . BBTS has it for 15% off and that actually comes out to be a couple cents cheaper than HLJ's price, and shipping is much cheaper as well of course.

Macross 25th Anniversary TV Special thread *READ THE 1ST POST*
Keiichi replied to azrael's topic in Movies and TV Series
So I've been a bit out of the Macross loop, so Macross Frontier came as a total surpries to me, and a great extra holiday gift! Just finished watching the first ep and I just had a grin on my face the whole time, I really think they nailed the whole "Macross feel." I mean once the talking vending machine rolled out, and the little litter robot scurried by I knew they had it! Sure was sad seeing all those beautiful VF17s getting trashed... I gotta say, I got chills once I realized what the ending song was, a great rendition of DYRL. Liking the characters (just one thing though, if Alto really hates being called a girl... maybe he should cut his hair? Then again maybe he has a reason not to), loving the animation and the combat direction; have very high hopes for this series! -

One of my Mahoro cels, and my one and only Macross cel!

I've been collecting cels for quite a while, glad to see other folks here share the same vice! Here are a few of my favorites. I apologize for the awful pictures, I don't want to take the cels out of their sleeves, the sun isn't out, and lastly, I barely know how to use this camera ^^;
