1. Kyatsu, I'll let you be the judge from the pictures I posted previously. In addition to those, I'll post some close up pictures as well. I like it, personally as they are not too thick as I found the gundam marker is too dark and too thick. The cotton bud and alcohol are to remove excessive lead, and I also use a small flat head screwdriver covered with the wet cotton bud along the panel lines to further clean the excessive lead. I used to do the panel lines using the tamiya enamel paint and thinner but I ran out of thinner that day, and I'd like to try the pencil method anyway. 399339
2. I use a mechanical pencil with B lead with plenty of cotton buds and rubbing alcohol. I think it turned out decent.
3. Just got mine from TwinMoon. Finished transforming from fighter to gerwalk, ant battroid. So far, nothing too loose, as in the knee caps, but some of the wheel covers are "kinda" loose although they stay in place. No magnet problem, no arm problem. However I found one of the foot is not aligned when in a closed position, and the knee rotattion is kinda loose on both legs. Errr, also the left foot doesn't lock when in fully pulled position, and left arm rotation is kinda loose as well.
4. Can't wait for Starscream MPC, as well as any pictures.
5. isopropyl alcohol is the same as isopropanol, or rubbing alcohol. They are usually sold in pharmacy in 91% by volume or 70% by volume (more common). Just make sure you get the clear one. sometime they put dye in it.
6. It really depends on the types of plastic. I assume the Valks are made of ABS, when I checked the chemical/solvent resistance of plastic handbook. It has mixed results for isopropanol/rubbing alcohol. Some (mostly) say it's unaffected, while other severely attacked it (at 50C temp). However, The testing used 100% isopropanol, and for 7 days or more (I assume soaking). So for general cleaning, I'd say diluted isopropanol is fine. Similar results with ethanol.
7. Wow! I want one, but I don't want one that bad. Aren't these like half that price on HLJ? 348103 Actually, it's 3 times the current price at ebay. Most people sell it for $100 with ~$30-$40 shipping. I bought 2 from HLJ and the total including shipping was $160. however, HLJ no longer sell them.
8. Check out this crazy SOB http://cgi.ebay.com/1-48-Godaikin-Airwolf-...1QQcmdZViewItem
9. Here's another comparison with a supposedly 1:48 AH-1Z Super Cobra
10. Have you found yourself hand fliying it while imitating the airwolf theme?
11. no matter how good, cheesy or bad the series are, I just love both Airwolf and Blue Thunder design.
12. I will post the comparison with 1/48 later when I got home. What I find interesting is how fast the normal version is sold out at HLJ as compared to the limited one. I wonder if people opted with the normal version since they thought the limited one has those black windows. but then again, obviously those black windows are prototypes.
13. Just received my Lady yesterday. It came with detachable guns and adf pod. aka: interchangeble. The 2 AAA batteries go into the belly, covered by the adf pod. Mine is the limited one, so it's a 2 tone metallic black and white. Overall, it's pretty good, although I think the price is a bit too steep. But hey! it's the only airwolf die cast model that looks nice.
14. Hi Haterist, Thanks for the reply. It's not about the Roy's 3rd issue. Also, Kevin has been my Macross "supplier" for a while now, so I'm not worried about that. Thanks
15. Not sure if this is the right place, feel free to move it to anywhere suitable. Does anyone know if Kevin at Valkyrie Exchange is out of town? I tried e-mailing him or pm-ing from this board, but I haven't had any reply from him. He usually answers to pm or e-mail pretty quickly, but not this past couple of days. Thanks
16. I think the XM16 rifle is under the bridge on the virtuous snake mission, and on the second operation, it's inside the weapon barrack next to the building where the scientist is held. I could be wrong though. Also, the questionaire at the beginning is just some joke with regards to a mask
17. I didn't know breasts enhancements already exist in that era
18. the boss is easy, there are a number of ways. rambo style, sniper style, CQC style (my fav). counter the boss's cqc with holding the O button just before the boss attacks
19. you use revival pill at the end where you touch his body and "die" you don't really fight him. I finished the game, but in the process of replaying it. There're tons of easter eggs, most are funny
