  1. It's nowhere near as big as a similarily priced SOC though, only 20cm tall. I have no doubt that Bandai will do one I just have no idea when. That theory does make a lot of sense, partly because it would explain why Simon stepped down. I.e. he felt he had no choice and did it in order to stop his spiral power from spinning out of control. Plus going through all of that and still losing your love can't have been fun.
  2. Not a bad ending at all but I do wonder why they even bothered with Boota's evolution after watching that and equally why they complete srcibbled out the intro to episode one. I wonder if that will just be removed for the dvd release. Gunbuster still wins the best ending ever award imo.
  3. Yeah, I might have been off by a day or two but it's listed for the 2somethingth of Oct here in the UK as well, can't wait. This is a great year for anime.
  4. It's out on dvd in 20 days, I'll wait.
  5. I'm hoping for something with the emphasis more on drama then flashy action this time, the fact that the trailers seem to have showm more of the characters then the Gundams is a good indication to me.
  6. Yeah, it is a surprise, yet another company enters the Gokin market and it looks a pretty solid (albeit pricey @ $135) entry. I'll get one (money permitting, natch) but only if nothing else is announced before then.
  7. This has been discussed on ToyboxDX already and Matt Alt says it's just someone's wild guess work/wish list.
  8. Oh hell's yeah! Bandai have until this hits shelves to announce something better.
  9. Yeah I have a special shelf above my desk that only my current most awesome toys are allowed on (not the same as most recent). It currently has Masterpiece Prime & Megatron, Gunbuster, Yamatos Garland and a Masterpiece Great Exkaiser. Everything else just gets shunted around the various flat surfaces to make way for new ones and occasssionaly put away.
  10. I want one but I'm feeling kinda wary of buying any more expensive toys these days. Once brought they just seem to sit on the shelf since playing with them usually involves a heavy investment of time. Even Gunbuster, my most anticiapted toy since Masterpiece Prime just stands stocially on it's launch pad. I want Ideon too but again have the same nagging doubt that I wouldn't get much out of it after the intial noevelty.
  11. Well I wouldn't expect (or want) Gainax to rush into anything (besides the inevitable movie versions) but if there's potential and they have the passion to work on it that made this so great then by all means make another.
  12. Man, I can't believe people actually want it to end. What if a sequel turned out to be the anime equivalent of Terminator 2 or even Aliens, you'd all change your tunes then wouldn't ya!
  13. It's science fiction though, as some dude once said when asked about sequels to aliens; "It's sci-fi, there are a thousand ways to bring Ripley back" All they have to do is have them venture out further into the galaxy, find a stronger race that even the anti spirals fear and wham! second series! The thing I want to see most, is in the final frame of the credits to 27; "Gurren Lagann will Return!" It would make my year.
  14. Yeah, Diebuster is easily forgotten in the face of this.
  15. Compared to the rest at least, aside from the goodbye scene it just seemed like a lot of talking. Particularly from Lord Genome who's necessary to keep explaining everything. Also the way the previous one ended made me think that the transformation would be the first order of business but then they built it up even more, and still more after that and then when it finally happened it was a bit disappointingly vague.
  16. I totally missed that! *goes to watch it again* Great episode, much better then the disappointing 25.
  17. Just got Paprika on dvd today, fantastic film and very satisfying. There are shades of millennium actress in the film centred dream sequences. Bugger all on the disc itself though, you get a commentary which seems more interested in the music then the film itself and a few trailers. Fortunately the film itself is more then good enough to pay for, I'll be watching it again before the end of the week.
  18. I'll say this much, it's less then I was expecting.
  19. So another month and nothing in the magazines, Yamato is so cruel.
  20. HJK does toys as well, they always cover the latest SOC's etc. This is a figure, it's being released by Alterier (sp?) I think and not Atlieri Sai (sp?) now, how confusing...
  21. At last, the first magazine spread of the upcoming Arbalest figure, looking very sweet; http://www.toyskingdom.com.hk/forum/viewth...;extra=page%3D1
  22. Gunbuster for me without a doubt but I don't have that many, just him, the original and spec versions of Eva 01 and Xabungle. I do want to get Ideon, Dancougar and Iron Gear in the future. If any of them are going to challenge Gunbuster it'll be the Ideon.
  23. Eh? Mine keeps charging if I shut down the machine from the controller. I've found the play and charge kit to be invaluable, I can't understand why anyone would want to fiddle around with batteries any more.
