  1. so... what was the Ping and the sound jammer? Was that the sea of VF-17Ds showing up?

So, the sound jammer is a throwback to VF-X2 (which also shows up in Delta IIRC). It's basically a fold jammer that messes up lock-ons and creates false radar readings. The ping is the fold quartz lighting up that powers the jammer.

Last Saturday we did a costume and makeup test for Mirage. Also added new Rewards for the Patreon. Including options for those interested in only a single Photo Set and for those interested in commissions. With your help we like to give Mirage some extra special attention. She deserves it with the way the series is treating her. You can read more about what we have plan for Mirage and the new Rewards on the Patreon Page.

    I thought you hated Delta?

  3. I am still hoping to do an expanded version of my Russian-language epic novelette in English, after Delta finishes and I can integrate the lore (only the lore - the action itself ends in 2059 or 2060). But I realized I might have a slight Delta problem.

The hero's name is Kenneth Macer. This is a reference to Karl Macek. The hero is not a pilot; if anything he is more like MII's protagonist, a journalist (but unlike Hibiki, Kenneth Macer never learns to pilot manned mecha; he does ride a motorcycle).

Might there be questions about "Macer" being too close to "Messer"? Or are the names separate enough, given that my character is not a pilot?

Why would you want to reference Carl Macek?

  4. Okay guys, update. So, Probably won't be done by July 31st, due to a side project that ate up a bit of time, but believe me, I'm literally working on Chapter 6 right now.

Thanks for being so patient guys, I hope to make it worth the wait!

  5. I'll have to dig up the reference I made a while back, but the main body is flat Navy Blue with yellow and black stripes similar to Emerald Force from Macross 7. You could use the Nothung's fuselage and legs as a base, but the wings are the Macross 7 19S style short forward swept designs. You might have to do some kitbashing.

  6. Do you have any spec details on your Sapphire Team Leader Valk? Mods apart from the Twin Carbine version gun pods and VF25 Sniper Rifle pod? Colours etc. Want to make it from a Hasegawa model.

Hey! Glad to hear you want to make a model! The VF-19MT/S Excalibur Plus is based on the VF-19S of Macross 7 with the canards of the YF-19 retained in the design. Apart from its weapons, the fighter has the advanced exhaust system from Macross the Ride's VF-19ACTIVE. In a sense, the MT/S is to the ACTIVE as the F-15S/MTD is to the F-15ACTIVE in the real world. Besides being equipped with EX gear, there are not many more aesthetic changes. If you have any other questions let me know

  7. Thanks for the kind words. My background is actually in comic books. Been a professional comic artist for over 20 years now. I guess character design is just part of the job. While I was in junior high school, I used to draw home made comics featuring characters based on caricatures of friends and classmates. That really helped a lot in learning how to draw characters with different facial structures and body types. Nowadays I teach art twice a week to kids and I always tell them to draw by looking at real life and learn to how interpret people, clothes and fashion trends. What you end up getting on paper is always far more interesting this way instead of just looking at anime art for character inspirations.

Wow, that's really neat. I do fan works on the side, myself, but it's always nice to hear from a pro. I look up to artists like yourself.
