Putting money into Hot Toys is a bad idea. They print those things like the Franklin mint. You can barely get full MSRP back, and this is 6 months out from release. Not to mention they reprint everything or do a new version every year. Even the sideshow "exclusives" are easy to get. They just make too many of them. Not that people don't buy them, but they want a deal with all the inventory floating around. Good luck to you though.

Same. That's another rule. If I can't display it, I don't keep it haha. This is my take on keeping it in the box, or trying to see it from another frame of mind/perspective that doesn't work for me. 1. You collect perfect mint items, and the action of hunting it down and keeping it "perfect" from the factory is what gets your rocks off. I can see where this frame of mind comes from, and maybe if I had more money and unlimited space I'd buy backups to keep a "perfect" copy just to know I have one. I think collecting for some people is the feeling of having it stored and owned, so this makes sense, but it's not for me. 2. You want to sell it later and make money. This one is a little shaky. I sell a ton of stuff as most of you know, and while I've made money by the adage of "buy low, sell high." It's really hard to turn a profit on anything after shipping, fees, and competing with other sales and business. You have to be willing to sit on your money for at least a year when everything is sold out, or have the time to speculate and hit windows of opportunity. Even then you're not going to be making a ton of money unless... it's scarce. At that point it becomes a guessing game of trying to triangulate.... "what valk will be rare in 2 years?" Who sat back and bought 10 VF-X's or 10 VF-11's when they were on sale just to sit on them? Not many people. Today, if you asked me what Valk would be rare in 5 years? I'd say the 30th anniversary Arcadia, though they made a fairly high number of them, a lot of people didn't buy them, and it's a little on the funky side. But who knows. Again, that's a long term investment.

I think I mentioned this elsewhere, but I see this stuff as 3D interactive art that you can change on a regular basis. It beats the hell out of buying a painting or print and just staring at it on the wall. I also don't collect statues for this reason. It's just a 3D painting. You can pick it up, but you can't do anything fun with it. I remember picking up statues as a kid and thinking, "why doesn't it's arm move." I call it "curating" my collection instead of just amassing boxes and such. That involves looking after each item, changing poses, working on my display cases and keeping them clean, trading, selling, shipping, and all the time I spend on forums. It's what makes it a hobby for me. Vs just consuming a product. Also, I find that having a set amount of display room forces me to only keep the items I really and truly love, and keeps me selling things that I'm not happy with. That said I keep them as close to mint as possible. I don't like modding things, or putting stickers on unless I just have to. I keep the boxes, instructions and other thing in the best shape I can. Just buying something and keeping it in the box seems odd to me. Why not just collect boxes and pretend you're spending $400 bucks? If you can't feel it, see it, and enjoy it, what's the point?

I remember him as a wee tike as Mork. I think Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society are his best works by far.

Yeah that's more of the VD-0D canon fodder color.

Lets get back on track. I think it's amazing how close to model proportions they got here. I'd love to see this repaint as well:

It's been open for days. I doubt that many frontier valks were ever made... period. haha

I hear rumblings that Galvatron will be announced soon, but who knows. I think one of the interviews mentioned new cepts. All reports are that the mp-08x re-issue is nice and tight in the legs. Happy to hear that. Also, check out UM's transformation, looks like beagle cyclone ride armor levels of suck. Well, maybe not that bad haha- 17119 replies

Can I just say, I hate that tiled background that photographer uses. It's so distracting.

It felt a little stretched out and forced at times. But I wouldn't say boring. I think Winter soldier is a better film.- 344 replies

I hate pepsi though. I can get behind a japanese clothing company. Pepsi is a little too corporate for me, not for any hippie ethical reasons per say... just cheesy. I understand the attachment though. It's a cool look and idea. Idk, maybe if I saw one.- 17119 replies

It's odd because most SOC releases I've dealt with are fairly spotless and QA free. I know that it's not a transformable toy so there are less moving parts, but still.
-
I sent him this: "Awesome! Favorite old toy? Maybe a tease for a 1/60 Arcadia release?" he responded with this: Best translation I could find is: I shall live on Arcadia
-
Yeah I question anybody that says its a step above bandai fit and feel. I think it's just the lack of gloss and after glow of a new toy. Bandai always comes with a grain of salt. Still excited to get mine.

Sounds good thanks yets.

I guess.. but the 30th TV hik has a bit of a pink hue to it. I see it every day as I walk past haha Maybe for the DYRL's that are grayish. Idk.

I don't think they can keep up with every trend in every line. I mean they know enough not to get speculated and they look up items as they buy them back from locals, but they deal in everything. Running a business is more time consuming than keeping up with macross

Rewatched this with my parents over the weekend for a trip home. Have to say that A. it's better than GOG, and B. I still think Falcon is just an epic mount- 210 replies
