Strangest deal have ever seen, look the price and shipping cost.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2860548865
and it is open only to allowed bidders

Now this is funny. I gotten 2 Bandai 1/55 shipped from that area to US for less than 1/2 that shipping cost. He is hoping that someone sees the buy it now and does not see the shipping cost.

Umm, perhaps I should point out that it's obviously someone that had an extra or something of that nature, selling it to someone else. The listed bidder is the only one able to bid and there's the big shipping so he won't have to pay final value fees.

Lack of interest in what's out there. That's one of the reasons why I like Gundam - there are so many MSs out there so it's hard to get tired of any one (except Bandai is really pushing me with their RX-78 MGs). Outside of that, money. That being said, it's not that much of a deterrent (I got myself a 1/72 Defender kit and I'm probably getting a 1/55 Hi-Metal super tomorrow, and there's some other stuff that's really tempting).
-
Hmm, the most I've spent (and am still able to keep track of) is $90 on a Super (reissue) VF-1S with a strike cannon upgrade. It's somewhat ironic that I'll probably be getting a 1990 Super VF-1S missing only the gun, missiles, and gun clip for around that (and now there are 2 more and a Takatoku with acceptable prices on there).

I agree, when I was a newbie seller and didn't know better to send somthing before getting payment, ahhhhh back in the day of innocence. It wasn't an item I cared much about, I was actually looking to just get rid of, anyway, she got the item and said, WTF, you sent it out before I paid! your a bad seller and threatened to leave me negative feed back. I mean sheesh...... Sure it was stupid of me to send it before she paid, but, well sheesh...... She then went into this rant on how I was trying to rip her off, I was like.... I don't see how that applys here as I was the one in greater danger of being ripped off. I was baffled and a little scared by this women

That's pretty bad. When I first joined, way back in the way before scanners and digital cameras were big, I sold a JFK inaguration program. The guy got it and just left a negative saying I lied about the condition of it, which I didn't. I refunded the guys money and he returned the item. He then left me more positive feedbacks (like 3 more). But eBay is so dumb about feedback. Especially with people that just leave negatives for the hell of it, although that has gone down a lot. And it was a lot worse when you could just leave feedback for anyone (every so often you would see people that got into negative feedback fights).

Not to be a pain Dangard Ace, but any chance you could update the first post with all the new names?
It has been updated, it just doesn't say it at the bottom. That being said, I've been nominated a few times and still aren't on the list (only once on the new forums though). Not that I sell much on MW (I usually give it a try before eBay). But if people aren't getting added after being nominated for selling stuff doesn't it kinda defeat the point?
-
Well I don't think its unreasonable to wait on feed back as there are some jerks buyers to who will get something, give you crappy feedback without even tryint to resolve. Part of being a good buyer is also a willingness to discuss a problem with the seller before jumping to a conclusion.
I hate it when buyers do that. Some buyers definitely need to get real about what it's acceptable to do. I've had one guy report me to paypal for not sending an item after 7 days. I had one more guy send me an e-mail right after he paid for an item, then two days later he sent me another practically accusing me of stealing his money. And another guy that waited a week to send payment (from the postmark), then e-mailed me every day until he sent it, even though I was responding to his e-mails. Needless to say, I stopped responding to them after the third.

Man I'm just waiting for the super valks to go on sale again. This time I'ma jump on four of them at least!

You aren't the only one. Although (odds are) I'll have gotten a 1990 Hi-Metal VF-1S (missing the missiles, gun and clip) for a little bit more than my reissue super. Watch and see, eventually they will have the Strike and the 1/48s on sale. It will just take a while, like it did with the 1/60 VF-1J.

From the thread on the Yahoo news story, Pat Payne wroteThe underlying designs reside with Studio Nue/Big West. There is wiggle room for Tat and HG to argue for merchandising rights ONLY to designs that actually appeared in SDFM TV. DYRL, M+, M7, M0 designs may be substantially different enough to be considered new designs, but if it appeared in any of the other programs IN THE EXACT FORM THAT IT APPEARED IN THE ORIGINAL TV SERIES they could raise a stink, although it would probably get them nowhere.
Although Tatsunoko & HG may have merchandising rights to designs that appeared in SDFM TV, I wonder if, conversely, they have no rights to "original" derivatives of their own. E.g., I wonder if Bandai/BW will be able to turn the tables on HG and argue that the YF-1R is an illegal infringement due to its being a new product based on the existing VF-1 design (especially if it has the UN Insignia). Same goes for any Sentinels-type sequels. And what about the fact that Matsushiro owns the patent on the original transformable valkyrie design, which was essentially copied by the Bandai HCM and Toynami MPC? I assume something has been worked out in Japan between the various toy/model makers. (And I'm guessing Matsushiro's patent is now owned by someone like Bandai or Big West...) But prior to the MPC, all non-import transforming Valks were actually made by Bandai & Matsushiro (i.e., the Joke Machines sold by Matchbox, and of course Jetfire). Is the patent expired?
Do the current run of Robotech comic book adaptations use the UN insignia?
Apologies if any of this has already been addressed in the past.
Actually, the YF-1R appears, so that could be considered legitimate. However, the Sentinels raises a question. And Bandai could probably have a good reason to sue Toynami over their Valkyrie designs for copyright infringement. That's why there wasn't a transformable veritech during the 80s because of Jetfire, outside of the JMs, which were licensed from Bandai.

The loophole in Dogmatic law (ie- new forums) allowed them to get back in.
The Mods stated they're going to keep a close eye on all who have returned, and won't give them much, if any, leeway.
I thought I heard someone mention that BoK knew about this, but decided to be a better person and simply insult us from over at RT.com instead of coming over here...

Yes, I know. That's why he's such a COWARD. Hell, he could have posted this at Arcadia but I suppose there's no Steve Yun to protect his dumb ass there so he put at RT.com.
EDIT TO YOU KNOW WHO LURKING:
Don't bother going to Arcadia now after I've mentioned it!
BoK actually has an active membership (BankofKev, established on August 26, I think the other bankofkev profile was proven to be a fake), but has no posts.
There's also someone named Steve Yun here (again, with no posts).

And the CF isn't really fast pack ready. The legs have the holes, but the backpack doesn't. Unfortunately.
Hmm, I never noticed that on mine (probably because I never tried using the fast packs on it). Well, it would have wound up being the Matchbox Veritech's long lost cousin.
-
Yeah, I'm upset too that the CF isn't on sale. I like Hikaru's paint scheme but I just can't justify getting more than 1 of them. And the CF is fast-pack ready.

Ok then, what happend to the Bandai Destroid Re-isssues shown HERE:
http://www.blackaces.com.sg/wf2003s/wf2003s_pg12.htm
Come to think of it, there were earlier 1/72 Destroids. What happend to those also?
They got re-released. I got the last of the destroids from Marcias Locker like 2 weeks ago. As for the other kits, Bandai doesn't like to release a lot of the kits they have (outside of Nichimo's and Takatoku's Macross kits, Bandai has everything original in terms of models). They have never released any kits bigger than 1/72 scale and only those have been Valkyries. No monsters, and only that crappy 1/8000 Storm Attacker Mode model. Some of the 1/72 destroids are easy to come by though.

Well here is what babblefish has to say:< Animation > " ƒ}ƒNƒƒX " copyright 2 making clear on child side of dragon Tokyo high court Popularity television animation " super spatial-temporal fortress (the way occasion) centering on the copyright of the ƒ}ƒNƒƒX ", " the child production of production company dragon " (Tokyo Kokubunji city) with the plan company " the studio ‚Ê you obtained " and (Nerima Ku) decision of the lawsuit which is disputed on the 25th, was Tokyo high court. As for the Yamashita Kazuaki President of the Court " child side of the dragon had owed economic responsibility e.g., animation is made to complete to the time limit, " doing, Tokyo district court decision (January) it continued, it recognized the fact that it is copyright on child side of the dragon. With another lawsuit, as for copyright in the design of the characters and the like, the decision which we assume there is on a ‚Ê obtaining side, has decided, reversion of copyright divided with the character which had become the animation work and the foundation. < Kobayashi direct > (Everyday the newspaper)
Looks like engrish.com won't be going out of business any time soon.
Yeah, anyone that knows another language gets a laugh when they see something translated with something like babelfish (I know Spanish).
But it doesn't actually tell us anything (babelfish crap, although this is worse than usual).

It's not that hard - just use your head. And I only use acrylics (don't need more poison around) so I don't know what to say if you're using oil based stuff. Just don't mix a ton at once.

I ordered a 1/48 FP from easyland88, the price is great and item arrived on time.
The packaging is acceptable, with self-made style-foam box.
The box itself have some minor shelf winkles, but that's consider quite normal,
as if I bought the toy form a toy shop anywhere in HK.
I suggest adding (poor packaging comment to easyland88 or delist him from the black list)
Shouldn't that post be in the Straight Shooters list??
Yes and no. Since he's on the blacklist because of packaging, IMO it should be added. He could also be added to the straight shooters list. Kinda like tisinc, except it was packaging versus other problems.

Is it just me or they are saying that BW doesn't want stuff to be distributed internationally yet it's been distributed in France? Doesn't that seem a bit hypocritical? And, for what everyone has to say, on RT.com when the release was announced, they only used the SDF Macross logo. Not the Macross 7 logo.
-
Not the Yamato Moster. I'm currently chasing a broken Takatoku Monster though.
-
I believe the author was going for "sarcasm"....
I'd be scared if he wasn't. One of these is floating around on Yahoo JP (along with some Toynami RT stuff, some old RT VHS tapes and there was one of those horrid Matchbox "Veritechs"), fortunately nobody's stupid enough to spend 1000 yen on it

Not macross related, but I think this qualifies.

ROTFLMAO
Shouldn't HE be the one paying?

Dude, is that an icepick or an oyster knife in the foreground on the right??
Yeah, If I were a chick, I'd bid on a date with the kid with an ICEPICK in his picture!
lol. I didn't notice that before. Can anyone say "Patrick Bateman"? Although without the hiring prostitutes part.

A Macres bootleg valk a few years ago. I know I didn't have a Jetfire, although I'm not sure if my brother did or not, I think he might have. After that I got a Takatoku Misa, then a Bandai CF. I only got my first Yamato in June and I only have 2 (not that much of a fan of the 1/60s, although I'm probably going to get the Hikaru VF-1S.) And now I've got a decent sized valk collection (by normal standards, not MW.)

OMG that's so hilarious. that should definitely be pinned for as long as that auction's up.

Hmm. The biggest commercially available toy would have been that 1/12 "Veritech," although I think some other stuff that wasn't commercially available would be up there. I think HG had a big SDF-1 that was huge. And there was a big VF-19 (Basara's one.) In terms of models, it would be Arii's 1/24 Valkyrie.

First Valk
in Toys
I don't know, for starters I would reccomend starting with a Bandai 1/55. They are sturdy, easy to transform, and cheap. A decent number of people don't like the removing leg thing for the 1/60s and the 1/48 is really expensive. Not to mention that you really don't play with the Yamatos (it's hard enough to get the 1/60s in a decent gerwalk pose.)
What's keeping you from buying tons of Valks?

That's excellent advice there. There's also a variety of things to do with a mortgage. Like, instead of making a payment every month, make half a payment every two weeks. It doesn't seem like it makes much difference, but it takes years off your payments (I've been told by profs that it's 11, but I don't believe it). And make an extra payment every year instead of getting more valks. It's like 4 years of payment gone by the end. As for my debts, I don't even want to know. I'm still in college (a sophomore) and I'm not quite liking my major (it's not that I'm doing poorly - I'm one of the few Chem Es to get an academic scholarship) so that means something like graduate school, which is even more money. Although I am probably one of the few people without a job and $3000 in a checking account (I haven't started paying off those loans yet because of repayment provisions that I don't like).
