  1. Well, it's good that you didn't get hurt and it's only a car. Everyone's gotten in a few accidents. I got hit by two people (on two occasions) that thought I was going to run a red light that I didn't (as in it was red 2 cars before me and people were still going through). After that happened the second time, I just did whatever I went out to do, drove the car back and I haven't driven since. The car didn't even get dented, but I knew sooner or later some dumb person would wind up putting all of us in the hospital. That was more than 3 years ago and I wouldn't want to drive now (not so sure of those skills, especially since I had my license for like 18 months at the time). On the plus side, I have a ton more money now that I don't drive anymore (no more insurance, tags, and like the 4 various city permits).

  2. Definitely the Gundam Fix 0017b Zeta Plus. I've been seriously considering getting that while I haven't thought about the other stuff. Although if the Hikaru VF-1S were on there...

  3. Thanks for the link! Those Zaku's are cool, but I wish that Bandai would do more Gundam Sentinel stuff. Thanks to the FIX line, I can pick up detailed toys of the Sentinel stuff and not a model kit since my modeling skills are rudimentary at best. I was hoping to see a Hi Nu Gundam in a red and blue paint scheme like the Zetaplus or a kickass Sazabi.

I'm so very tempted to get those Zeta Plus fix configuration. At least the red one given the price.

  4. Talkin about flying... maybe planemodel builders can make one fly?

Actually I have an old Rocket propellant device. It was made here in Japan. Supposably you can attach it to a model plane or car and it gives it thrust. I haven't used it before. Looks alittle dangerous. What you do is put the chemical circular tablet in the metal case. Stick a metal rod through the thrust nossel and heat it with a lighter until it ignites. They are supposed to work, but I guess it would trash the model. When i go back to my toy office I will try to take a pic of it to show what I am talking about.

Hmm, it doesn't sound too dangerous but I wouldn't trust that with a lighter. Probably because everything I work with uses an electric current (as do most model rocket ignition systems). That is surprising about the elintseeker, although I still hope that Bandai will reissue it. The prices on the Bandai elintseekers are insane now.

  5. It's too bad they didn't add those mechas we saw in Animatrix

Don't ever bring up Animatrix again - that was 2 horrible hours of my life. I felt cheated after watching that (I wanted my 2 hours back - I didn't pay to get in). That being said, I'm going to be quite upset if it's the same trailer that was on the Reloaded reel (I was working Reloaded here so I actually noticed it as we were getting finished up).

  6. BTW before I ask any questions, what's a grey market?

It's a semi-legitimate market. Ebay here is a grey market for Yamatos and Bandais since they aren't supposed to be here. Also, re-importing stuff (such as medicines and computer software) and selling it constitutes a grey market.

  7. Hmm, I actually can believe that they look at MW and all sorts of forums. One of the reasons why Yamato has to charge so much is that, quite frankly, their Valkyries are horrible toys. Nice collectibles, horrible toys. Give a 6 or 7 year old a Yamato and a Bandai. Watch and see what happens. They won't really like the Yamato but they will love the 1/55. Yamato seems to have looked at what not to do when designing toys and then decided to do exactly that. To begin with, the market for these Valkyries is fairly limited since there's no Macross on TV (people that don't know a lot about what to get for gifts see something that seems popular on TV and then gets it for their kid) and, as previously stated, they aren't good toys. And QC isn't good. So we essentially get to pay for other people's mistakes. One thing that has always struck me as odd is that people don't want Macross if it isn't done by Kawamori. At least it's doing something with the show - if something wouldn't happen then it would eventually die out. Look at Macross 2 - most people don't like it but they love the VF-2SS. If someone came up with a new Macross TV series there would be toys and models from it and, probably, some of the older stuff would get reissued.

  8. I love the 1/55s, thats why I only have 2 Yamatos.

    1 Takatoku VF-1A Misa

    1 Takatoku VF-1S

    1 Bandai Reissue CF VF-1A

    1 Bandai Reissue VF-1S Super

    2 Bandai Reissue VF-1S

For some reason I have all these VF-1Ss even though they aren't my favorite. Actually, they are my least favorite.

  9. Here's some more stuff:

    Interesting custom here:

and the guy even got a pilot there too.

And i noticed this guy - he's got a ton of cels (Macross Plus, 7, Vampire Hunter D, Mospeada, first Gundam, Zeta Gundam, V Gundam, and Gundam X, just to name a few). he ships internationally and accepts paypal (now if we could only get Yahoo JP accounts)

  10. As previously stated, it was a 1/200 model. Here's something else. It's obviously got Takatoku VF-1S on the front, but the stickers are different ones (at least the Spacy symbol on the wing). And that Phalanx has a horrible paint scheme that the Matchbox Destroids had. And then there's the Glaug. I saw a Takatoku 1983 catalog go for like $35, so I don't know what this will go for.

  11. Well, I don't try with friends or extended family. With the parents it's usually "Here's the CC number, don't spend more than X amount on a gift" or I just get dragged into Best Buy. I got one of my friends a Bandai VF-1S, he really liked it (much more than his 1/55 MPC VF-1S). With relatives it's always just crap that I take back (usually from Marshall Fields), then I go to Target with the credit. Last year I got, from my aunt and uncle, a plastic dart set. For someone who was, at the time, 19. The reccomended age was only up to 6.

  12. How often does the list get updated?

It gets updated at least once a day....unless I'm out on vacation like I was for the last 6 days. I'll deal with this tomorrow.

Oh, and it has to be clear that you've been nominated for selling an item. If it isn't, and I haven't seen the sales/wanted thread about the transaction, then I'm not adding the name.:ph34r:

Hmm, that's always worth knowing. Perhaps it should be posted with the actual list?

  13. I don't think that BW has done as much with the Macross derivatives, at least not on an int'l scale.

Well, BW has done more on an international scale than HG has done domestically. And HG doesn't care about Macross stuff outside of the US (look at what has been released overseas, I'm pretty sure Tommy Yune even acknowledged the French release of Macross 7 Trash). Now, one thing that probably would have happened if it were Bandai as opposed to Yamato with the Mac+ valks is that they probably would have challenged HG over it. They could have just removed the friggin kite (UN Spacy would probably be considered fair use) and any mention of Macross and then just released the friggin thing and this thing (at least outside of the VF-1s and Flashback 2012) would have been resolved.
