If they don't squeeze in a healthy dose of "Well, exCUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, PRINCESS", I refuse to watch it.

Yeah, at this point there's more than few settings to get into: medieval urban, post apocalyptic, ocean island nations, and even a mulitiverse route to choose from.

I just want them to work in scene where Link rushes into an occupied house and breaks every vase in sight.

  2.  Mr. Woodhead's latest update:

"We have received most of the raw film transfers from Japan (just a few minor elements yet to come) and the work of massaging them has begun.

We've also received almost all of the artwork and settei and are assembling them into the artbook.

First drafts of the subtitles will be going out to the proofreading team early next month.

In other news, Natsumi is currently in Japan and is meeting Mikimoto-sensei at an undisclosed location to discuss the new Macross II artwork."

    It's slowly coming together.

  3. After some scares with Amazon JP (I got a couple of messages saying the game can't be shipped out of Japan), they came through and it arrived today.

It's disappointing that the latest Macross game is just a two dimensional shooter, but it's better than no Macross game I guess.

  4. Toriyama died a legend. The entire world knows Dragon Ball Z, inspring fight scenes even in Hollywood.  His work on Dragon Quest helped create the JRPG genre and his mechanical designs are timeless.  His works will continue to inspire.  R.I.P.

I'm all in for one R2.

  6. I got this one a couple of months ago from Brickmania and just completed it today:

    20240215_222320.jpg.f089128e69df4fa1e5a3160842dcb316.jpg

It makes for a solid Huey toy and the printed markings are superb.  Although I did reduce the mass on the rudder and made the tail boom a little thicker.

The guns and rockets are custom parts Brickmania included in the kit.  The minifig aircrew is quite notable.

Brickmania doesn't explicity say it, but the crew is a crack commando unit that will later be sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn’t commit. These men would promptly escape from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. They'll be wanted by the government, and survive as soldiers of fortune.  And if there was any doubt:

The cherry on top for me is the extra, printed sedated face:

I just finished the Skyraider. What a nice kit! This is the second Brick Veteran kit I’ve bought, the first being the F4U Corsair. This is a much nicer kit. The Corsair is very delicate and the landing gear can not be deployed. While the A-1 has folding wings and fully functional landing gear…a space saver for sure. It is also very solid and less finicky than the Corsair. If you have the funds I highly recommend the Skyraider kit when the inevitable Navy version is done.

The Skyraider looks great.  It's disappointing to hear about the Corsair not having functional landing gear though, and that's quite unusual for a BV kit.

  8. Upgrades to be added tonight:

"Tier One : Customized Personal Shikishi - $2000 (limit of 10)

These shikishi are created specifically for the recipient and are completely unique. They are hand-drawn and colored by Mikimoto-sensei, and the recipient can make suggestions as to the content which the artist will take into consideration when creating the artwork. The subject matter must be Macross II-related. In some cases there may be some back-and-forth discussions before the artist settles on an acceptable design.

    Tier Two : Semi-Customized Limited Edition Shikishi - $800 (limit of 30)

These shikishi will all use the same base drawing, which will be created exclusively for use in this tier. The core line art and base hair and skin color work will be printed on shikishi boards, and then the artist will individually color the clothing and background of each shikishi before inscribing and signing/numbering them.

Tier Three : Limited Edition Printed Shikishi - $300 (limited to one per project backer)

These shikishi will all use the same new fully detailed and colored drawing (so they will have the same level of detail as the other tiers) but are fully printed reproductions. As with all the other shikishi, they will be personally inscribed and signed/numbered by the artist. Note that this tier will not use the same base drawing as tier two!

Mikimoto-sensei wants to get input from interested backers about possible design suggestions for the Tier Two and Three drawings. So opine away in the comments. He has also told us that he intends to use the Tier Two and Three artwork to experiment with drawing on a computer in the shikishi style, which should result in something very interesting indeed!"

Attached are examples from the Megazone 23 Kickstarter:

Very pricey upgrades, and yet very tempting...
