  1. The story goes that after filming Bullit wrapped, the remaining cars were to be scrapped, mainly because of potential liability. They were obviously short one Charger (due in no small part to the explosion scene) but its not 100% clear what the status was of the other three cars. However, one of the Mustangs did survive and has been in private hands ever since. Supposedly even Steve McQueen himself tracked it down tried to buy it before his death. However, the owner was and remains obstinant that the car remain in his posession. According to the last article I had read about it ( and they did verify the VIN number was indeed one of the two Mustang purchased by Warner Bros for Bullit) the car is in poor shape, both from the rigors of filming and nearly 40 years of deterioration. But it does survive, and if this dweeb that's sitting on it ever would do us the favor of dying, the car could potentially be restored.

Is it the one that he breaks the right front axle/suspension on right at the end of the chase?

Some interesting trivia: the guy, Scott Rosenberg, who wrote Con Air and I believe the Gone in Sixty Seconds remake was the founder/owner of Eternity Comics/Malibu Graphics for whom I drew Robotech and other manga-ish comics back in the 80's. Crazy huh?

  2. While I dont own any original BANDAI boxes I do haveĀ  Takatoku box. Perhaps you are confusing Takatoku and Bandai. Takatoku has a sort fo wriggling worm lookign texture to their boxes. I dont think Bandai does hence in your case.

or its a shoddy bootleg and you should just give it to me for disposalĀ

actually I have both regular bandai strike box and tatsunoko strike boxes and both have that wriggling worm look on it too. I was wondering why it was like that. Anyway, Alpha-GHQ can you take some close up pictures of it?

What do you mean by Tastsunoko strike box? Did you mean Takatoku?

Only Bandai made a Strike Valkyrie.

The one I have has the textured box. However the Bandai Super Ostrich and Elintseeker boxes I've had were glossy/slick like the one AGENT-GHQ describes on his latest Strike. It's possible he has a later issue Strike which was released around the same time as the Elint and SuperO and the box stock had changed.

  3. I just meant that it was ugly and disproportionate.

Here's my Yamato Appleseeed headbash. Movie body with manga head. The arms are crappy as they fall off with little force used but the sculpt and articulation is great. Damn you Yamato!

Exo, your posts crack me up because half the time they end with "Damn you <insert toy company>!"

  4. wow i did not know you where doing comics, being a artist i have been wanting to do that for years. how much do they pay and are you still working now? if so what title, i would like to check it out.

    chris

It does not pay very well for the amount of work involved, and no matter how much you love to draw, it does become work. Last comics work I did was a series called RoboDojo for Wildstorm a couple years ago. It's taken me this long to start to miss it ;)

But I really did enjoy these Robotech books since it gave me a chance to use DYRL designs, which I love.

  5. Thanks for the compliments. They're not deserved, but I'll take them. :-D

Peter, all carbon fiber finish? That is incredible. My next model has some carbon fiber in it, and it was a bitch and a half. Maybe I should consider using separate pieces next time, instead of using one whole piece.

I'm going to go carbon fiber crazy with the next model I build.

JGTC NSX are just so incredible, aren't they?

And just for the record, how many NSX kits do you have? I have two Tamiya Acura NSX and one avex Dome Mugen NSX. No R type. I really would like more, but I'm more of a Ferrari fan at the moment.

PS: Any chance you can take more pictures of that Rosso NSX kit? Better yet, any chance of selling it to me? :-P

The CF GT500 NSX is actually shabilly built if you look really close. There's a lot of overlapping. It took me three months on and off mucking around with it but if I really took my time and tried to make it perfect it probably would have taken a year at the rate I was going. My best friend in that project was Mr. Mark Softer. That stuff is magic.

As for NSX models, I've got a couple:

    Unbuilt:

    Tamiya JGTC - 6

    Tamiya NSX-R - 5

    Tamiya Honda NSX - 2

    Tamiya Acura NSX - 1

    Rosso 1/12 scale

    Rosso 1/43 scale

    Completed:

    Tamiya JGTC - 4

    Tamiya NSX-R - 1

    Tamiya Honda NSX - 2

And I've got a bunch of die cast and other minatures...I've lost track.

There's a pic somewhere of some of my collection but since then I've collected more:

    Rosso

I've been toying with the idea of buying an NSX for the past year or so. Problem is while I've looked one over up close ( a '95 at a local Honda dealership that was abused and overpriced) I haven't driven one. The interior was almost identically laid out to my 300zx twinturbo.

But I decided that I needed a cool car with a back seat for my little girl so I added a G35 6MT to the fleet last week. Guess the NSX can wait another year or so.

  6. I have some original art boards available, these are from the Robotech books I did below. Each measures 10"x15" and were of course used to print the book. These are not lettered as the lettering was added later in photoshop. Pages are $15 each, copies of the comics are $5 each. I will sign them if requested. Shipping is generally $8 per order in the US. PM me if interested.

These are the last of my Macross pages, all are from Robotech:Covert Ops #1:

  7. Glane

Considering that the fact he is still alive peroid hasnt crossed your mind is suprising let alone that the wounds should be cleaned :D just poking at ya man lol no seriousness meant.

I think that the dark side has alot to do with keeping Annie alive at that point, maybe the Emporer has alittle to do with it also.

Yeah, I know he probably wouldn't really be alive anyway ;) , but if this is hyped as some sort of new prototype medical center the Emperor has set up, I'd expect to see a little more gadgets and hoohahs there. Rebuilding him is suppposed to be stretching all technology to that point.

  8. If that image of Anakin on the table is real, I'm a bit disappointed. He's just lying on a frickin table. Where's the life support machinery and tubes into him? And the lung machine implants, etc. They're already attaching the cyborg limbs and he's still wearing the remnants of the cloak he was burned in. You'd have to clean and sterilize all that tissue or he'd die from massive infection. Is he still wearing all that crap under his Vader suit? C'mon Lucas at least try a little bit!

  9. Those pics are from this auction:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

which ended the other day at $192. So either this guy is stealing pictures or he won the auction and is looking to pump some profit out of you. So I would avoid the deal.

That said, I would like to get ahold of one of these to see if ther is any manufacturer's mark on the feet and if it has all the firing mechanisms like the Takatoku, or is stripped like the Bandai.

  10. Save me digging thru a bunch of websites and fill me in on these questions please:

    1) WTF are the angels? Why do they always go straight for Nerv HQ?

    2) WTF are the Evas, clones of Adam or Eve or something? Is Eva01 Shinji's mom?

    3) WTF is Rei, clones of some orginal kid floating in goo somewhere?

    4) WTF is second impact?

I'm sure someone here know the generally accepted answers to these so spill it.
