  1. Geez, that guy happened upon the mother of all yardsales didn't he? Ostrich, SDF-1, Cyclone....
  2. I don't get the continuity...is this after the New Generation? I thought the Invid were defeated at the end of New Gen. But they seem to be showing the Mars Base invasion again.
  3. With today's digital printing technology, you could have that set recreated for less and sell copies.
  4. I'm with you. RX-79G and Nu are my favorite Gundam designs. Does anyone here have that SCM RX-79G toy that was a crane price a few years back? I'm a little irritated that they are apparently making HCM pros 1/144 scale now. Why can't they stick with a scale and go with it? They always start re-releasing suits in new scales and/or details levels like msia vs. ex-msia. So there's always that one mobile suit you want that's in the wrong scale or line.
  5. I think the reason 1/55 customizing was so big in the late 90's was because at the time the only choices were to lay out big big $ for a Takatoku or Bandai original, or score a Jetfire and paint it. Lots more Jetfires in the US than the former. I don't remember anyone hacking up an original for customs unless it was a serious junker. 99.9% were jetfire or the occasional Joons (although even the Joons were pretty pricey).

    CM's Figures

The bootlegs have poorer paint apps, reduced clarity to the detail features, and they stink (literally).
  7. I saw Rudolph and Charlie Brown Christmas toys in stores this month, those were both Playing Mantis licenses. But I've also seen the same toys as "Memory Lane". So someone has their licenses and molds in full effect.
  8. A few months back, Big Lots got in loads of MG GP-01 gundam kits for $4.99 I never liked the design so I didn't get any.
  9. Which episode of Macross 0 had a ghost fighter in it? I don't recall ever seeing one hooked to a VF. The only ghost I remember seeing was the one in Mac+, which was supposed to have been chosen over the YF-21 and YF-19 to be replacing all piloted fighters, though I guess they changed their minds about that.
  10. I'm excited the line is continuing, but the helmet on the flightsuit is way too small.
  11. Maybe he has to eat the brains.
  12. The 1/60 Vf-1 series is getting a bit of a boost because of Yamato's apparent push of that scale going forward for the Q-Raus, VF-0's, YF-19, etc. Unless they pop up with a new improved version in that scale, you'd need one of the old ones to display an 'in scale' collection, despite the 1/48's obvious superiority.
  13. Awesome work! 2 questions: 1. Where'd you get the decals 2. Why would the Ferrari team have a Nismo (Nissan Motorsports) sticker on it?
  14. I'm guessing the nuclear/radioactive guy will be the source of the explosion that destroys New York (unless they stop it).
  15. In Star Wars, in the scene where stormtroopers enter the Death Star room with the red walls where R2 and 3PO are monitoring Luke and the rest down in the trash compactors, the trooper on the far right busts his head on the door coming in. It's pretty funny and made it into the film. I noticed when watching the Special Edition on HBO HiDef the other day that they actually gave the guy an "Umph" sound effect, in effect highlighting their blooper. Probably an inside joke at Lucasfilm.
  16. The seller is a member here. That had to hurt to give it up that cheap considering what I think he probably paid for it.
  17. They're throwing in some nice extras. Soldier figure with removeable helmet and Shinji heads, standing and sitting Yui figures. They know they have to add some enticements due to the bad press on the shoulders.
  18. Thanks, I guess . I think the scanning and reduction process they used hurt my art a bit on theose books, plus I tend to pack in too much detail sometimes. Anyway, new commission example, a custom comic page: Pencils, inks, then colors:
  19. These were actually available at WalMart in some areas. And I also have one that is in a different box from a different company name, but same robot. The BBTS price is pretty good, better than eBay. I welcome any new 1/55 bootlegs since I collect them. It's fascinating that the design has spawned such a variety of imitators for 25 years.
  20. The Toynami guys have to be wondering why their Robotech lines are failing when they see auctions like that. It may almost make them believe they have produced something worth a crap...almost.
  21. Yes, but it keeps the thrill of the hunt alive!
