  1. The Paro's with the 1S head were all released in the US on blister cards as Convertors by the Select toy company during the 80's robot craze. That's where the ones you have came from. I have 2 of the red Millia style with the 1S head. Select only put out the 1S head version, but with the 1J color schemes. Do a web search for Select Convertors and you will probably come across carded pics of them on a couple fan sites.
  2. Notice the last scan says these toys were to appear in the ExoSquad tv show in 1995. Did that actually happen - Macross mechs in another animated show and called by their "Robotech" names? Does this mean that they were going to introduce the term Robotech and Zentraedi and Invid alien races to that show? Pretty crazy if that happened.
  3. I believe that they were allowing for the fact that if you were born and lived exclusively in space, 1g of full gravity would probably be debilitating to your bones and muscles. Arthur C Clarke wrote a lot about that in one of his 20x0 series books.
  4. Wonder if they will be able to get Ian McKellan to reprise as Gandalf? He's pretty much ageless as a character. I think they'll need a younger Bilbo though. Guess they can re-use the same Gollum as well.
  5. Yes, he takes a spear to the chest and falls into a city fountain, turning the water red as he bleeds out. I saw I Am Legend and was a bit disappointed. Mainly by the poor CGI on the Dark Seekers. Plus, they tended to show no physical damage at all. The main bad guy tries to break through very thick safety glass doors by repeatedly ramming it with his FACE like 20 times. And he never bleeds. COME ON!!! His face would have been pulp after a few hits, I don't think rabies makes your face invulnerable. That was lame as hell.
  6. Props to Mysterryno for a well packaged and promptly shipped item. Thanks again!
  7. The toy IS textured and quite small from reviews I've heard on Robot Japan.
  8. Yes, the big one. I had noticed a sudden infusion of these on ebay and wondered where they were coming from. Then I happened upon one and figured it out. These were incredibly hard to find when they first came out and then the line was discontinued due to slow sales. Then they start popping up at discount chains, which means there had to be huge stock in a warehouse somewhere. If the morons had shipped more in the first place they may not have had to cancel.
  9. If you have Dollar General stores in your area, they have been getting shipments of the long discontinued Ultra Titanium cases, including the Galactica. And they are only $8 !!!! So get the hell down there because not all of them get the same cases. Out of 5 stores near me, 1 had a Galactica and the rest had different assortments.
  10. Which one? 1/55, 1/60, 1/48, HCM, etc.
  11. I'm a sucker for the Garland designs so I have the first version and the military recolor. The military version has the improved shoulders, no problem so far. I'll get the silver repaint too, I think it looks snazzy. It's called the 'factory' version , I guess to mean what one would look like if you bought it at a Garland Dealership - if there was such a thing. I'm impressed with the Proto Garland, it turned out very accurate to the line art, a definite buy. Here's hoping they retool it into the floating green military Garlands from Part II as well since there would be just a few parts changes.
  12. Why is there no dialogue? Did they leave it out of the US release also? Man, that movie was ass.
  13. Sure enough, and yours is clearer! Wonder if that will be the "boss monster" in the final battle of the movie.
  14. Check this out. This screen grab shows the maskless Predator on the right ramming his wrist blade up through the chin of an Alien on the left. It looks like the Alien also has the predator mandibles. Guess that hybrid from the end of the last movie is still alive, or another one comes about.
  15. Looks like they dumped the bulky rubber suits they had on the Predators last time. This guy is much more lithe and agile. Looks entertaining at least. Plus we'll get a whole new round of merchandising from the various figure companies.
  16. I hope those leg flaps will lower more than that. They should lay almost flat per the line art. You can see they resculpted the windscreen correctly and added popout mirrors - nice. I would like to see it have the candy apple reddish/metallic paint it sported in Part II instead of bare red pastic.
  17. The soldier bear toy is the same as the Galaxy Defender version that was showing up at WalMarts at ine time. But The Soldier Bear line is distributed to Military outlets.
  18. I'll be getting the Proto-Garland for sure as I love the design and was hoping they'd do it. I got the military colored Garland set on sale at Image anime. It has the upgraded shoulders and looks pretty nice actually. I especially like the military pilot figure and the Yui figures.
  19. Nah, Nick Fury's been around since the 1960's, decades before Escape from New York. Nick Fury was simply supposed to be a badass soldier.
  20. Kirby would probably have more issue with the Stand Up Stan Lee bits on X-play where he constantly talks about doing Kirby's wife and stealing his ideas. Now those are funny as hell.
  21. This movie's gonna suck ass no matter what it's rated. From the ridiculous clips I've seen (launching cars at helicopters?, c'mon) it looks like Bruce Willis isn't even taking it seriously. Plus his sidekick is the Mac kid. If they had teamed him with PC, I'd see it.
  22. Looks like they're probably tossing the movie continuity. John does have more terminators after him, and is even being protected by a female one.
  23. Maybe, remember also that Richards recently had to have brain surgery after falling on his head out of a palm tree trying to fetch a coconut. I'm not sure if that was before or after he filmed the Pirates part.
  24. That was Dustin Hoffman that played Capt. Hook
  25. The scene after the credits is this: (highlight below to see it) It shows Elizabeth (Swann) Turner walking to the shore with her now 10yr old son. At sunset the green flash happens and the Dutchman appears with Will at the bow coming in for his one day on land.
