I'd start with water and if that doesn't work try a 50/50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water. Should clean it right up.

You're looking at a pretty big project....Since you already own the DVD's I wouldn't feel to guilty about downloading a torrent where the work has already been done.

It's here! It's here! It's mine, all mine! Mi-... it's in a billion pieces?!

Seriously, thing is enourmously cool
Just the size of it alone makes me giddy. The downside is that due to Real Life TM issues, I no longer have the money to buy an airbrush, compressor, and whatnot, so Imma gonna try something different. I'm going to try giving it a white and grey paintjob, in a "just off the factory" deal. Will prolly fail miserably, but it's gotta be better than the shade of yellow the plastic is moulded in.Why not just buy spray paint from the hardware store ?

The '19 was by far the easiest build from their 1/72 line.....I guess it makes sense that they would go with this particular Valk for their new foray into 1/48.
Hopefully it gets a a lot more detail because the 1/72 was severely lacking in details......Can't wait either way !!

Not usually a fan of fillers but I thought the most recent filler arc about the backstory of Urahara and the Vizards was very cool.

Tamiya flat base is pretty hard to work with if you don't have your ratios right.....It can leave a 'chalky' finish.
If you have an airbrush, you really can't go wrong using Testors/Model Master Acryl Flat.

Any way to get rid of that white are where the sprue was? I really want my Luca to look great (and the Michael too), so I'm trying to get some practice in on another kit (another gundam kit in 1/144 scale).
Paint ?

For washes I've recently switched from artist oils to artist watercolor paints. Its very low risk by only needing water to thin them with.

Why couldn't Warner Bros purchase from Big West the rights to use Macross Saga designs ??

Very Nice !!!
How about some pics of that Valk in your avatar??

You should all go back and re-watch the 1st few minutes of episode #1 as it starts off pretty far in the future and then time skips back to the past where the story starts out.

FWIW, Here's the cast:
Emile Hirsch - Speed
Christina Ricci - Trixie
Matthew Fox - Racer X
Susan Sarandon - Mom Racer
John Goodman - Pops Racer
Kick Gurry - Sparkie
Seems like pretty decent casting IMO.

Is it too late for Big West to find another animation Co. for the new Macross?? Satelite sounds like a real clusterf$#k.

Looks like Bandai Visual is releasing their HD version of the Freedom OAV with English Subtitles concurrently in North America with the Japanese release:
Freedom set for simultaneous US/Japan HD-DVD release
On June 26th, Bandai Visual will simultaneously release the first volume of the Freedom OVA in the North American and Japanese markets. Released in HD-DVD/DVD Twin, this will be the first-ever high-definition release of an anime title in North America. The MSRP for this Japanese-only, with English subtitles volume will be $39.99. Freedom will be released across a total of six volumes, and following the release, Bandai Visual plans to put out HD-DVD and Blu Ray versions of its other titles, first in Japan, and eventually, overseas. Maybe the newest incarnation of Macross will get the same treatment ??

From Anime News Network:
Press Release: http://www.bandaivisual.us/pdfs/PressRelease_FR_0320.pdf
Sounds like Bandai is smoking crack. There's no way something like that will sale well over here.
Regardless if it sells well or not hopefully they release the newest Macross incarnation the same way.

Looks like Big West finally updated the website:
Maybe someone could translate some of the stuff from the news section although it looks like it may be some of the same stuff about the auditions.

FWIW from anime news service:
3-7-07 (10:45AM EST)---- Victor Confirms New Macross
Victor Entertainment has confirmed their recent "Victor Vocal & Voice Audition" will draft the voice of the next Macross idol singer / heroine.
-
They did cover Kakashi Gaiden already?
Yeah, a while back actually.
Actually no they haven't....unless you are talking about the manga, but the anime has covered none of this material yet.

I'm watching Capeta right now. Its about a kid progressing up the ranks of go-kart racing with his eye on F1. Once you get past the goofy character designs its a great show.

LOL at the bottle of Jack Daniels on his work bench.....
I"m pretty sure the compound he is using is this stuff:

He used the red stuff to clean up the panel lines and used a combo of the red (9800)and yellow (3000) to clean up the canopy.

From Anime News Service:
2-5-07 (10:13AM EST)---- Victor Casting For New Macross?
Following up our report (see the January 22nd item) that Victor Entertainment was holding an open audtion to the public to cast a title heroine and themesong performer for a "masterpiece animation", the title of that work may have now come to light. The devil is in the details, and those participating in the audition seem to have spotted the Macross title in a number of areas, ranging from the addresses appearing on postcards to fliers and other items. Monthly Debut magazine also covers the event in its latest issue and information contained in their writeup also seem to lead in the Macross direction.
