1. I sat and re-watched Appleseed (after resolving a stupid issue with my surround system)... other than some real bad CG, most notiably the faces/shadows... the color contrasts were way way way out of wack... I've decided its definately in my top 10 anime movies. The combat sequences are just stunning

2. DVD? That's old technology, the Shadow Chronocles will be distributed through a series of JPEG's on the internet, allowing the viewer to experience a new immersive & interactive media experience as they look at the "picture's" & imagine what takes place in the story.

HG will win many awards for innovative storytelling & distribution.

HAHAHAHA! thats good

3. Hmm, do they get some extra tax write off just for using the film in charity screenings? Sounds like some scheme to recover costs.

405038

yep... and nope.... yes they can use the "donations" as a tax writeoff... but they can use it to counteract the income taxes paid on selling/releasing of videos. Its also a bit of good PR and potentially reviews coming out. News casters/reporters love those kind of things... especially if its a fund raiser for a big name/cause charity... Katrina relief? its gonna pull some press ;)
4. There'll be a special Shadow Chronicles screening at Mechacon in Lafeyette, La. All moneys to be donated to the Salvation Army for Hurricane Katrina & Rita restoration work. The screening'll be August 12, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.

da'ang.... wish I could easily drive there.... actually if they would hold "screanings" at all the major citys... hold them in Holiday Inn conference rooms for the Red Cross.... Holiday Inn could donate the use of the convention/conference rooms to the Red Cross and get a Tax writeoff... HG could give all proceeds to the RedCross and get a Tax writeoff... I could see the damn thing right down the street from where I live... I'd be happy :)

5. DeLoreans don't technically suck. They are basically a Lotus Esprit under stainless steel...but the Volvo B28F engine really sucks. 130HP!

Actually, the PRV (Peugeot-Renault-Volvo) engine was very reliable by itself. It was one of the first few European engines to run 100,000 miles before its first tune-up. The whole problem was that DeLorean tinkered with it when he dropped it in his car. Hence the DMC's reliability issues.

I'll second the "prior to DeLorean messing with the thing" sentiment

6. I feel exactly the same, I loved Robotech when I was growing up but all the products bearing thename made in the last 10 years have been utterly disapointing. They're just kinda driving it into the ground, and that's disapointing to see.

Of course, I could nearly say the exact same thing about Macross.

hehe, while I agree... the only set of "toys" I personally liked were/are the "super posable" figures made by Toynami. While not accurate to any level, they have a neet look/feel to them.

7. unfortunatly the Robotech hate is abound on this site.... not as bad as Macross 7 though   I can believe that this thread hasn't been locked yet, most Mods either want the laugh, or avoid even reading the first thread on a RT topic.

402283

Do you want us to lock it???

A 120MB file....even at work that would take a while....

402286

no... atleast not yet :p

120MB for a fricken trailer?:rolleyes: Gamespy would be even worse! nothing like having to register.... choose a complex loops of options to DL it for free... then wait in line while the paying customers get first choice in DL bandwidth.... while watching ads popup on the screen constantly  I remember DL'ing a preview release of a MMORPG, having to wait 18 hours for the DL to start

8. The dub is available at boxtorrents.com.  From what I have heard, it isn't planned as a release in the US>  they did release the dub in ireland though.

401691

This is the sequel to the first GITS movie right? I rented this sucker from blockbuster 6 months ago. Hell, I think I saw it at Best Buy!

401744

it was English Dubbed? or Japanse with English Subs?
9. I've been trolling around the internet looking for more information on the English Dub of Innocence that was released in England back in February.... any of you guys see it yet? Any rumors on a US release?

The only things I know about about it is it was produced by Dreamworks (that is now sold), licensed to be sold by Manga Ent in the UK... the GitS SAC TV show cast was "chosen" to do the movie voices... details out on it are horribly vague

10. please pardon my posting in an old-OLD thread... but I'm in the market for a new inexpensive DVD player, and I'm hoping to find one that is Region hackable.... I suspect the models listed are unavailable now ;)

Any suggestions on current models, inexpensive, reliable... can be region hacked... will read MP3s, CDRs, etc...

EDIT---

oh... and HAS to have an Optical Audio Out port for my stereo ;)

11. Although, the Robotech OST was really good -- way better than Macross'.

Blasphemy, burn him!

while I dislike the fact that there are what.... 4 Minmay songs, all played REPEATEDLY in the Robotech series... compared to what 20-30 in Macross? stepping back and looking at ALL the Robotech songs, compared to ALL the Macross songs... I prefer the Robotech ones (again looking at ALL the songs)

Now if I just look at the Robotech Minmay songs.... ehF that crap... I prefer the Macross ones (again ALL of them)
