The more I look at the prototype the less I like it. We've been discussing endlessly how the YF-21 relies on anime magic to the point that an accurate toy is impossible, yet we've seen better attempts before. The Hi Metal prototype shown a couple of years ago for example, had me so hyped. It looked glorious in both modes and was half the size. The same was said many times about the 19 and with some clever engineering, both Arcadia and Bandai nailed it. with this it looks like Bandai went overboard with the engineering but they didn't accomplish anything.

A three pack sounds ideal for these. Maybe I can shove in some Revoltech joints to improve poseability if they're made of similar plastic.

Missed on this, OTOH it doesn't come with a pilot figure so I dunno. I guess it'd look cool displayed it next to the Kugai and the Ishtar, (the TA from the other faction), if they ever get around to release those. I'm always biased towards smaller mecha, since giant robots never seemed realistic enough to me. Macross being an exception since it's so well justified, still the Q-Rau is my favorite Macross mecha tho' technically it IS giant.

Ok, ok. I stand corrected: that Legioss does look small, I'd still argue that the Legioss is simpler in transformation (unless Sentinel made it really complex). It's simpler than a VF-1 which should reduce the risk of breakage issues, so I'm keeping my preorder as well. I really hope that Sentinel issues replacements for their Mospeadas.

Such a terrible situation with these particular toys. I feel for you guys who invested in this line.
Could the same possibility exist when the Legioss is released? That is what I was looking forward to but now I think I’ll have to forget this as a whole.
Every new transforming toy has the potential for a design, engineering, factory or materials flaw. These are very complex toys. I hope that the Legioss being simpler in transformation and bigger in size will be durable enough but unless you play the waiting game, there's always a risk. The real bummer in this case is that the problem is next to impossible to fix for the average collector.

So how widespread is the breakage issue? Is it one of those things that will happen no matter what or can it be avoided by being extra gently? I skipped on the bikes, but was thinking on getting them later on if/when money improves.

Since there was no price or details of included items, I think we have some time. Bandai can be unpredictable but this doesn't seem imminent to me.
It's not. Apparently Kawamori is still making notes, so it's not even a final prototype. I've waited ten years, I can wait a few more months.

Ghost, YF-19 and 21, what a display that would be.

The underbelly panels are definitely not sitting flush, but that's to be expected from a prototype in a hobby show. I'm more worried that they'd over-engineered the whole area to the point of looking weird or being troublesome. Still, I believe the final version is a long way off.

I'm a Regult Scout fan since day 1, so I'm very happy to see this happening. If it comes alone I'm getting a couple at least, but if it's a bundle then just one. Still if the Tomahawk is any indication, there's no guarantee that we'll see a PO anytime soon.

I was so disappointed at Yamato's 21 when it came out. The 21 is my favorite VF and yet I couldn't get over the tiny feet and the lower hips. Fighter was great, but I'm more of a battroid guy (I know I'm not in the majority there), so I skipped it altogether and prepared myself mentally for the long wait, because I knew there was going to be a better version eventually. This is perfect for me. I know we're all used to smaller thrusters, but if they mean more room for bigger feet and legs stowage, I'm in. Besides they make fighter mode look more powerful IMO and it doesn't look any less sleek to my eyes. If Kawamori is still making notes for the design team, then the most obvious aesthetic change should be the short bellyplates, which are easy to tweak without compromising the whole thing, so I'm happy there.
Edit: I never cared much for Delta, but I dig the Immelman scheme MUCH more than the Gamlin and M&M's, so go ahead and milk that mold Bandai!

Good catch! The TREAD is definitely considered then. Let's hope the sales justify the development. Toynami also made their Alpha with the Beta in mind but their link system was poorly thought out (lot's of challenges for Sentinel to have fun with in a TREAD toy as well). Unlike the VF-1 that had a steady evolution process as a toy, the Legioss has had so little improvement over the years that is exciting to see someone putting so much love and effort in working around the inherent design problems.

So Mykombini honored my preorder after all (when I went to my account weeks after Preorder Madness there was a notice saying they wouldn't be able to fulfill my order b/c there were too many but to my surprise my one VF-4 is on the way). Seems to be the most fun to transform VF yet. I already want more but I'll patiently wait for the repaints.

I also wouldn't mind a little squad of these guys. Quite a long shot, I know.

One of my preorders of the VF-4 at Amiami is going to @ScrambledValkyrie. I have a second preorder of the VF-4 x2 at Amiami. The listed price is 10990 JPY each. Let me know if you want them.
PM'd!
Edit: Agh! Too late. Still in the lookout. I'm not leaving this thread again.

I just checked my VF-4 preorder with Mykombini and they didn't have enough of them to grant my one copy ordered, so I had to lower my pieces to 0, which means I really never had a preorder secured with them in the first place and they didn't bother to tell me. I'll keep on checking here in case a slot opens

Yeah, I got excited for a minute there, but my initial preorder is 1500 Yen cheaper with shipping included!

I just paid for mine, but Ami Ami wont EMS to my region for a while due to the pandemic. I tried to upgrade my shipping but they have to refund me and charge me again, which is more money due to the exchange rate, so I guess I'll just be patient. Meanwhile I'll keep an eye here for all the useful information. Most complex Legioss to transform ever! I guess it's worth it. For all I've seen so far, this is the Legioss I've been waiting for since Toynami's. I'm getting the whole line for sure. Can't wait for Genius' transforming guide.
Edit: Can anybody tell me what's the current status on those little Ligaa toys? I've been away for some time.
