I concur with jvmacross and zard, the issue is the complete lack of ethics. Re-sellers can do whatever they want, however, a certain balance in how one conducts their business is important. What some aforementioned sellers are doing is a preying on uninformed cel collectors.
On a personal note, I prefer to share my cel collecting experiences and MW, RS, AB, all serve as platforms to openly share information about cels, preservation, and concerns (scalpers or frauds). I find we should not discourage or remove the important cel practice involving discussion and sharing information. As a community we learn more from each other than alone. Lastly, many cel collectors are secretive or inactive in any social setting, so it is important to allow and encourage what little 'active sharing' that exists.I agree with the sharing of knowledge .... totally down with that

Hmmm interesting discussion.... this can apply to any item actually and not just cels. Unless you believe that somehow you can (or should) control the market and be the price setter here. We can rail and talk all you want but in the end its how you spend your own money versus others. Personally it may make you feel better to express opinions and be comforted that there are like minded people (no matter which side you support). However, in the end it is indeed an open market (well except for those where seller refuse to sell to certain segment e.g. proxy). Again speaking for myself.... I might have bid on a cel even knowing its high.... if I just had to have it. In this case I did not.
On the topic of ethics, I don't think there are any here. We are not talking about cancer drugs (or other lifesaving stuff) nor public goods (like water). So its simply willing buyer willing seller that's it.

I passed on it.....the two highest bidders were both competing proxies....probably Rinkya vs Buyee....with Buyee bidder winning I think....
Bidder / Ratings Price Quantity Bid time g*6*p*** / 26605 High bidder 63,349 yen 1 2018-09-24 10:02 t*V*7*** / 47190 62,349 yen 1 2018-09-24 20:55 8*D*K*** / 0 46,000 yen 1 2018-09-23 20:26 Went higher than expected....but there are apparently several new collectors bidding recently that have no clue what they are bidding on....
A cel like this one should have went for 400 max....reasonably between 300-350....
That's why I thought thrice.... Plus I already have a Claudia Misa cel .....

Usually an oversized cel is used for a scene that the director wants to pan....not as familiar with the M7 episodes so not sure which episode or scene it was used in......time for a rewatch?
Ooh..... I must confess I only managed 3/4 and the rest was on fast forward haha..... yeah is time for M7 again

Dear gurus,
Recently won the following cel off Yahoo Auctions.... Seller marked it as a large size.... was wondering how this size ended up being used in production? Its about 25% larger than all my other cels at 38x33cm. Anyone know?
-
Both are awesome.... prefer Len_d69 version for sleekness and use of SNOT techniques with smooth plates. However feel tiaolipa version is more proportionately accurate.... it reminds me of Shoji Kawamori's prototyping style. Great stuff!

Does the cockpit display have volume control or make any sounds along with the lights?
Not directly and no sounds directly either.... sounds are via Bluetooth speaker functionality so the only thing you get when switching on the cockpit is a beep to let you know it works, the lights and also the video on the small display in the centre.

I threw out the power adaptor by accident so only just got mine working.... here's a video using the speaker for playback and recorded using my handphone..... Feels a bit odd to pay Harmony Gold but this was too good to pass up..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/976411302452770/permalink/1873447756082449/

For the Matchbox release, there is this one on eBay...
or this...
OR...... if you want the Takatoku release....
http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=121&id=2051598
These are good listings. Typically a mint Takatoku goes for something closer to 100k yen. So the Jungle one at 70k can be considered.

I grabbed a second one at NY in case my first at CDjapan got cancelled for some reason. Never bought from CDjapan before, so I'm not sure if they oversell and cancel.
Normally not.... since they take all your money upfront

NY is back at 22k yen.... someone mentioned fleecing?

Last time I tried to order at Amazon Japan, they would not ship to a US address. That was years ago.
I tried just now and they allowed it. 18000 + 1200 for shipping. HS with shipping will almost certainly cost more so I will cancel it.
Just be careful with the cancellations.... cos accounts can and have been suspended for this.... after all that's why CDJapan takes in full payment now
