  1. I just realized that the 'Nagano' SDF-1 cannot transform the way the Kawamori one can Neither can the VFs. The legs and shoulders on the macross are connected right? Unless there's a very thin connection bar in there that seperates them from the main body it can't swing. Unless there's another transformation sequence... Even so, the robot mode is good.
  2. Thanks! I'll wait to see the outcome of the big art book bids first. If whoever it is does have to shell out some $130 and takes the books maybe I'll pick up this guidebook. Thanks again.
  3. He also did Five Star Stories IIRC. Go look on MAHQ. Nagano specifically worked on Heavy Metal L-Gaim and it's counterpart Five Star Stories. He also worked on Brain Powered's mecha designs. You can tell Nagano's work anywhere- usually it's too good to be animated and it's highly ornate. The website seems to have guests trying to emulate Nagano's stile on everything from Macross to Tetsujin 28. There's also an Orguss in there, much to my amazement, and I don't know if I should be honored or insulted.
  4. the designs only are cannon? So wait, can I assume Hikaru started using a beleiveable VF-1A instead of simply jumping to his VF-1J? I can beleive in the fact that the Meltran have their own designs, encourage it even. If we see a 'real' version of the TV series, just substitute the purple ships of Lap's fleet with the Meltran ships. I think the TV Lap is the 'real' lap, as I can't see Kamijun getting comfertable with a robotic floaty head person. I also believe the Queadlunn-Nna is a cannon design (haven't watched DYRL? but MAHQ seems to think it's in there.) Anyway, back on topic. It seems the 'Cannon' ARMDs are armed with simple twin-forward beam cannon arrays and maybe smaller anti-aircraft turrets hidden underneath armor plates ala macross-like turrets. Are there any screenshots of these things firing at all? For the SDF-1, do we assume it has a DYRL? Body with TV arms then? That would be an interesing picture, and one I'd actually like to see. Otherwise we're stuck with the TV-DYRL? Paradox contrasting on the Macross. Then again maybe Kawamori was referring to the Valkyire designs instead of the ships/characters.
  5. One must wonder what the transformation mode looks like
  6. This unusual item's been around on Ebay for some time and the description doesn't say anything about what it is. The mystery item This is for all Orguss fans but also anyone in general. What the heck is this thing? Is it a book? A pencil board? Flip book? I'd like to know if it's worth going after and what's in it. *sigh* if there was an Orguss version of the compendium this wouldn't be a problem. Thanks in advance.
  7. So they made something bigger than the Jadgt Panther. Wow. Hey look! A Mirage VF-1! I wonder if the Colus house has their own version... Esh. Imagine if he did the Meltran. Now THOSE would be designs I'd love to see.
  8. It looks like the black sienna from Nadesico: Prince of Darkness. I'm wondering what that machine is that's right beneath the Zeta Gundam. 'Other series'; could this possibly include Macross and/or Orguss? (On second thought maybe not Macross; it'd have to be 'Rabble-tech-ified' when it reached the states because of the mess HG would throw.)
  9. You've probably already seen this one. I'm trying to figure out a way to do digi-camo... Nobody else is posting?
  10. Hey look! An affordable Legioss!
  11. I envisioned ARMDS with large, wide hangers with low cealings (Main body hanger) or two cramped 'hallway' hangers with sealed-off decks. I don't see why you couldn't use the Mac II deckplans if you got a hold of them, they seem to make more sense than anything else around. Just don't trust the RPG stats.
  12. Maybe it's only a cover for the Macross Zero sequel.
  13. And the origional Orguss type: My Macrossfan creations profile works now! Accessable here. I'm working on an 'overall' Orguss template that includes a side view in aircraft mode and a shoulder paddle to show off designs. I don't know what I'll do next, maybe the Glomar, or an Ishkick.
  14. Okay, these are the templates. Mass Production type:
  15. Well it seems the Macross fan works pages is working now. Enjoy all. More is comming.
  16. The line artwork is in Illustrator and the colors and shadows are in Photoshop. I use a tablet also so it helps. I have an acount on the Macross art page it's just that it won't accept my submissions for some reason. I'll check with Yellowlightman about it, but that's the reasoning for my lack of posing there. At present I'm making a side view of the Orguss in flight mode. I'll make an Orguss and MP version, then add them with the templates along with a shoulder pad for full customization. I'll add the Bronco line art when I fix some things on it (The upper part of the leg is too small when it connects to the joint...) Part of the problem I'm having in making these line art sketches is the lack of material. Orguss, since it wasn't as popular as Macross, has had limited sucess and it's one model line died with Imai and Arii. I have rare Orguss kits with me but I'm afraid to build them because of thier rarity (Which makes me think I should go into recasting just to have copies for myself).
  17. Background: Of the untold stories on Earth, one of the most famous pilots in the SWI span of history was Katie Alaska. Based up in the arctic circle and the antlantic, she was one of the few who agreed to pilot the AV-11D Bronco II Gerwalk fighters. As there was enough parts for them in storage (From an anticipated pre-production run of around a hundred aircraft) the Broncos saw limited service in select areas of combat. She survived the Zentreadi bombardment of earth with her Bronco II, but eventually upgraded to a personalized Drifand Orguss and eventually became a squadron leader with a VF-11 group. --------------- Yes I have templates for the Bronco. Does anyone want them? Seeing as there are templates in existance for Legioss fighters over in the Macross fan art page... And is it fine for me to do Orguss templates for customs? And where is everyone?
  18. I thought about making a basic template that includes the side view of the Orguss in aircraft mode, plus one of the shoulder panels to show off the wing patterns. But if everyone wants 'em I'll post the base ones I have (They've been corrected to some degree, especially the one above...the shoulders are off.) Anyhow, if Roy could have an Orguss, what about Hikaru? For Orguss Uninitiates I suggest going here and here.. I was lucky to get the Orguss Line art from one of those sites. It also let me have an Ishkick commander, their equiverlant to a Regult. I could do that one if anyone wanted. However I am after the Nickick so I could do a Millia version of that one. My explaination as to why is here. The whole 'Orguss macross' idea came from a crossover of mine from Macross to Orguss. I wondered what it would have been like for skull squadron to switch over from VFs to Ogroids.
  19. there wasn't any say in a limit on the series
  20. Oh quit whining. Macross has a respectable fanbase that would kill the creators if they said there would be no more Macross. It's prevailant here and in Japan. At least you fans with Macross have respectable sequels with hefty content and aren't just repeats of the same basic plot with variations *CoughGundamCough*. Orguss, on the other hand, in the heels of Macross died. And what did it get for a sequel? A dissapoinging Ova that has nothing to do with the origional series it was based on. And don't get me started on the 'Orguss 2', which asthetic-wise looks more like a living insult to the Orguss series than a tribute. If you start worrying about Macross fandom don't, at least it has 7 (a complete second series, Which has it's fans and haters). Orguss didn't even deserve any real second thoughts other than this laughable sequel. As for Mospedia it too hangs in the dark (Virtual obscurity under it's Robotech shadow...) but at least it isn't attatched with a horrible 'sequel.'
  21. that's the video release of DYRL.
  22. 1: this is a newbie quesion. Please post in the newbie questions thread when you have a question like this. 2. The Macross Compendium is your best friend. Consult this site before asking a question like this because generally the compendium has the answer you're looking for, even if it's about the backstory of the show. 3.DYRL? Was released in 1984, July 7th. PleasePleasePlease use internet resources before asking questions like that here. It makes the Mods happy and prevents them from yelling at you or making you feel inferior.
  23. Behold! Thus is the power of illustrator; crisp clean lines in line art form. I present to you all the first capital ship to color and play with. The Queadol-Magdomilla. What else but a Zentreadi ship to be the first capital ship to color? The ARMD is too hard. I'll do Zentreadi ships first, maybe a Northampton if I feel like it. Edit: Right, er...bigger one available on request. And for some reason my profile on Macross Fan works won't accept my submissions anymore.
  24. Your basing your assumption on the fact that VF-X is the first time the UN Spacy encounters the Eva. How do we know it didn't appear much sooner then that? There needed to be time for the UN Spacy to confirm the fact that the Eva does exist as a threat (I assume implying more than one unit in multiple locations) and not simply a 'phantom craft'. The compendium doesn't specify when the Pheyos was first spotted, but I assume that it was much sooner than VF-X. Even so, for a craft devised from a VF-X-11 to challenge a UN Spacy top-of-the-line VF-19 is impressive even for Zentreadi and rebel engineers. Imagine if they were to make a better Pheyos like the VF-11 can be seen as a better VF-1.
  25. http://www.anime.net/macross/mecha/zentrad...vice/index.html 2030: VF-X-11 Stolen by Rouge Zentreadi 2039: Unveiling of the YF-19 2041: YF-19 is chosen as the winning design for project Super Nova 2047: Setting: VF-X, Also the appearance of the VF-19P (Dynamite 7) 2050: Setting: VF-X2 Twenty years between when the VF-X-11 was stolen and VF-X2. Since the Eva appears in VF-X (checked design works), it's actually seventeen. According to the entry in the compendium about the Enemy Variable device (Eva), it doesn't say how long it took for the Eva to appear after the VF-X-11 was stolen. But that is at least seventeen years after it was stolen. Assuming a VF-19P was purchased by a renegade Zentreadi group and reverse-engineered to make a new fighter, this would mean the Eva2 (Or whatever) would be significant enough to threaten craft at least seventeen years in advance- that's into 2064. That's assuming it even took that long for the origional Eva craft to be developed, it might be less. Maybe not twenty, but close.
