great job! That exaclty what I did back 18 years ago when I made mine! I ended up using the "Battleship" the Game, white pegs for my Missiles.
I am Really wanting to see what you come up with! Good luck!
I am also working on doing the same thing for 1/100. Jessey Mayers sold me a kit back 3 years ago that gave upgrades for the 1/100 kit. Here is a picture of some of the pieces. The kit also came with the "Bat" for the 1/100.

<shrug> I figured the missiles fired from the bottom and fed down from the top...
No they kind of all go off at once. In a scatter Kind of style. They really dont lock in on a target, they are of what I would call a Scatter missile. They just destroy anything in a given area.

Still looks out of perportion. I think if I were to buy the kit and build it. It will need some Personal detailing that John has put into his kit. that this kit does not even have. Where the torso meets looks kind of weird. They made it like a ball joint.
2 questions.
1. where would someone even get one if and or when its released.
2. Compared to the kits that are out there now. whats a price on a kit like that?
Just 2 questions that would make the kit worth it on my end.

I would hate to see Hobby fan copy Johns stuff. I would never buy from them if they did that.

Hi Carl.
Sure, I don't mind tackling different types of vehicles, so long as the demand is there. One of the ones I want to tackle at some point is the Cat's Eye plane, which I don't think acheived its full potential in the hands of Tanmen, but there will likely be at least one big, phat Zentradi kit before that

John Did you just say Cats-eye? Oh err ahh that will be 2 please! John I think this board will LIGHT up with requests if you do that! Tanmen has nothing on you! Oh and for the Zentradi kit, yeah I am all over that too!!

Yeah any word? hehe

Wish I had your tallent. Nice John, Very very nice.
Serious question, Now that you are stating to do other things like the this one. Do you think you woudl ever work on some of the other macross Copters and Planes?
One idea I think you would sell a million is ground trucks and supply vechicals. Like a set of 5 different trucks and ground support.

Does anyone here know of something we could do to get some instrument panels printed up? I mean, there's no way to paint one like this--there aren't even any gauges molded on to drybrush or anything, it's just a bunch of green flat-panel displays in the anime. And bandai just gave us a featureless grey slab.
Here's the best pic I could find of a "normal" VF-25 instrument display:
Dude you can so make your own with that picture. All you need to do is print it out on a white decal paper. Serious. Just scale it to your size.
White Decal paper works best when using Colors and its not an Irregular shape. Thats a square shape and you dont have to cut around.
Here is a custom Decal I made for Johns Destroid Defender. Granted its more complex and I had to cut around the Blue Reaper to make it right. But It worked.
Remember Yours is Square

John, do you plan on adding the Missile pods under the stabilizer wings?

I dont play many games, and I dont have PSP, but I would buy one if this will work on USA based PSP? Or do i have to get some kind of emulator like the other stuff to play Outside based games? If I have to go that way, its not worth it.

HEy guys I will take some close up shots tomorrow of the kits so you can get a better look. I dont think they are Recasts. But they are the size of a dark hosrse but they dont look like them. Their is WAY to much detail on the kits. I will put them next to a Quarter so you can see size.
I got
2x Tomahawks
2x Spartans
1x Defender
1x Phalanx
1x Monster

OK well if you guys know, My buddy is looking to sell some of his kits. And I just bought a few from him. BUT they are small Destroids! All of them!
They are smaller then the 1/144 in the picture you can see some of the destroids.
I also bought the Monster from him as well. BUT ITS MISSING PARTS!!!! And the box was never oppend by him. 8(
anyone know where they came from?
You can tell in some of the pics I have the 1/144 resin destroids next to the kits. They are also smaller then the 1/200 kits. the moster is much smaller then the 1/200 monster.

I was seriously looking into the Commanchero as my next victim; looks like a neat chopper and surprisingly big too, especially compared to a VF-1.
OH heck Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! OLD SCHOOL Macross TV Chopper! I am all over that! Never has that even been made!
That I am down for 2!

I'd be interested on the wave VF-17...
NP guys my buddy is dealing with me because you guys know and trust me, he would be new to the boards and well I figured I will stick my neck out for him. I have known him for 23 years so he trusts me.
I will get back with you.
That Zion kit must weigh about 20lbs of Resin. Its FREAKING BIG!

Hey I know you guys have a good idea of some of the old stuff and Gundam model kits. I have a buddy that has a few kits and would like to know if they are worth keeping or selling. I think he would like to sell, but he does not know what the price would be on something like this.
I was wondering if you could give me a heads up on a value of the kit for him.
Just take a look a the kits and tell me if they are junk or not.
he has 2 of these Gundam kits ( the Zion one) its 1/48 and must be about 20lbs heavy box alone.
Also he has a few more and is looking to sell them but does not know what the value is. you guys seem to have a pretty good idea. I was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on the pics of took of his kits.
Ps. Just courious I will keep looking to see the value ( I know he wont just give them away for cheep.) he said 2 of them were about $1000.00 that he knew of.
I took the pics with my phone
Ok well let me know what you guys think. I was courious since I only know about Macross and I do know that Vf-4 is not a bad kit to have. I know he has 2 of those and he has 2 of these zion kits.

John,
This is something I always wondered. How come the canopies have to be vaccume formed?
Is it harder to make a clear canopie like Haseygawa makes for velks or any Plastic model kit out there?
Or is that its much Cheeper to do the way I see the bubble form made?
Reason i am asking is. I just always have a hard time with cutting that material when Making a kit. Example the mask for the Zentradi you have made.
