Ebay shows the lowest priced one is $245 shipped from japan

None of the fancy versions that people want. I know I've got the vf-1s Roy DYRL version, and the Hikaru VF-1j boxed up.  Unboxed, I've got a Max VF-1a.  I've also got a set of the GPB armor and the super/strike armor.  Along with a few others.  Working through the collection to see what I want to keep or not.

On topic, is there a way to verify the authenticity of a cell like this? For example, do cells like this have some serial number that can be looked up somewhere to verify it came from a particular source and/or be matched to a specific frame?

Only real way to tell is to match it to the scene.   From what I recall when I collected anime cels, the black lines fade to a brown, which is a good way to tell the age.  I do see some paint chips, in the upper left, which indicates some damage when it was pulled away from the paper it was stuck to.

Thanks.  The few listed on eBay were around $600 on up.  Not sure how realistic those prices are.

I haven't had luck finding any recent sold prices on a Yamato VF-19P.  It's been forever since I attempted to sell stuff, and I got rusty on my google-fu.

Purchased from @Duymon already panel lined.  It looks amazing and pictures don't do it justice.  I never transformed it.  Accessories are still in the bag, the pilot is in the seat though.

Frontier:

2 broken VF-171 - $150

Purchased off here.  Shoulder triangles replaced with shapeways parts.  Chest hinges, as pictured below, are broken.  Other than that... the boxes are complete, all accessories are still in the bags.  They function fine in each mode, however don't expect to play with them.  Fighter mode is most stable.  One of them has a broken tab next to the shoulder piece, imaged below.
 

VF-171EX Alto version - $250
Never transformed.  Removed from box to deploy landing gear and set in my detolf.  All accessories are still in their bags.

VF-19 Fire Valkyrie - Yamato version - $350
Transformed once into battroid, returned to fighter to put back in the box. 

VF-19P Zola Patrol - $550
Never transformed.  Purchased off Yahoo Japan.  100% complete.

vf-17S and Super parts (separate boxes, not the combined release) - $350
Transformed once, displayed in fighter mode.  One screw cover missing.  Otherwise in excellent condition.

Robotech Masterpiece Cyclones - Scott(#892) and Rand (#491) - $500 each
Both were purchased new.  Scott was transformed and displayed.  Rand was not transformed, but displayed. 
 

I've a few other miscellaneous toys, Transformers masterpieces, Figmas, Evangelion and Berserk RAH, several Yamato1/48s.   Might even part with my unopened Arcadia SDF-1... 

I totally forgot about the olympics!  thankfully that is in the summer.  I would probably visit during the fall or spring.  for me summers are for camping and drinking in lakes and kayaking. 

My wife and I are thinking of heading to Tokyo for a vacation within the next year.  Would there happen to be anyone living in Japan on this forum?  I've got lots of questions and would love to meet up with a fellow fan.

I have nothing to compare it to.  it is just a rubber suit over an articulated body.  Because of the height I had to display mine in a kneeling position and never changed it.  when I put it back in the box I didn't notice any cracking or wearing, but that is bound to happen if it gets played with.  One good thing is that I got mine new from hlj and it had very minimal movement.

Updated.  Added a few things.  Adjusted some prices.  I am open to offers, because soon this stuff will end up on ebay.

I guess they are now selling pre-owned toys at HLJ.  A small selection so far, and everything is based upon "market prices."

Shipping and handling fees cost me about $50 EMS for a loose VF-25 with super armor to be shipped from Buyee to Michigan.

Any news on if they will make the blowsperior?  Or the red one?
