Nono, I’m not asking for step by step, I’m just saying that I appreciate the sharing on your choice of TOP coats, as well as how you prepared the resin kits, and the various things to take care of

    Hope these help :)

This 1/72 Airfix is a well made kit. The mold is clean and fitment is good overall. It also has the option to build 1 of 3 configurations, a B.2 (bomber), SR.2 (recon), or K.2 (tanker). Be sure to check the provided reference sheets to use the right parts and decals while building.

Extra resin pilots. This is the first time I've seen anything made in Belgium :p

    pilot.jpg.ad982529a614d7aaa8d7a62b3d4e9d97.jpg

I used Hataka lacquer colors C262 for the top and A217 for the ventral (thanks to Scale Hanger’s video on Youtube). Also, Vallejo acrylic putty is quite useful for filling small gaps.

This masking might be an overkill, but I want to be certain there is no unwanted coloring or bleeding.

This thing is BIG isn't it? The next steps are to add decals, panel line, weathering wash, and a matte coat (Tamiya TS80).

I just noticed you have the same decal sheet that I got which just arrived in the mail a few days ago.

I'm kind of pissed with this sheet. Nevermind that the pilot names are all "PILOT HUCHLIO" or "PILOT HUCHLIODF1", all the NO STEPS are actually "NO STLP", which I couldn't tell from the seller's pictures because of their small size...

I assume that's the same with yours and it's not some sort of misprint on mine?

Mine is the same, ugh >_<" I've been using "no step" and pilot names from other decal sheets and they are fine .

The Handley Page Victor was a strategic bomber for the U.N. during the Unification Wars. In addition to conventional bombing missions, the Victor can also carry a Blue Steel long-range missile for strategic nuclear strikes on the target. Near the end of war, some Victors were converted to aerial tankers. Below are Victors in the real world Royal Air Force.

Was wondering if you have the kit for the Tread as well @EastwindS2k since you have the Legoiss.

I have seen a kit of one on Manda and it might have been picked up already.

No I don’t have. I just have the Inbit crabs from Moscato :)

  5. Update on the first post:

    * Add U.N. Marine Corps

    1298228432_UNMarine1.jpg.d3348e861594db38e351519ff663f9e0.jpg

The U.N. Marine Corps served in the front line during the Unification Wars. They were seen in the prologue of Macross Zero, in desert camouflage and armed with M16A2 rifles.

    MZ_US_soldiers.jpg.2bd8ac0cc06247d74537877de707871a.jpg

The toy is ⅙ USMC by Soldier Story and the model is 1/35 US Airborne by Dragon, both came from the series of Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

    IMG_4416.jpg.43bcd33666f0267405afaa547f9cfc43.jpg

Here are the colors for the model. Tan (XF60 with XF2, 1:1), brown (XF64), pouches (XF13), Stinger missile (XF5), skin (XF15), and boots and rifles (X18). It’s also worth mentioning that Gunze weathering color and solvent give off no odor ;)

May I ask the scale of QF3000? Is that 1/144 scale?

And where could find this resin?

    it’s a 1/72, but feels smaller.

I bought this kit on Ebay :)

Could you share a tutorial for working resin models? Because seeing how you did it, I did not think it was so complicated and I wanted to put together a Lancer model that I have saved. Certainly impressive work.

Thanks friend. I'm standing on the shoulder of giants and I'm sure there are many great tutorials on Youtube.

I can share some of my thoughts about resins:

    * Usually fitment is not perfect because most are garage kits

    * Long preparation time, especially if you want the best result

    * May need some modification skills (cutting, drilling, putty, scribe etc.)

I was inspired from Narita san's model building page. The journal of his award winning SU27 Flanker is epic.

    http://www.naritafamily.com/howto/Su27/photo_frame.htm

The bottom line is don't worry about making a perfect model. Just get started and have fun! :D

  8. Update on the first post

    * Add QF3000E Ghost

    1087389721_QF3000E1.1.jpg.4d14164d3b8a81ff571bcced227c85d2.jpg

The QF3000E Ghost is another minor aircraft in Macross. UNS deployed hundreds of QF3000Es but sadly they only appeared for a few seconds in episode one.

    1366571143_QF3000E1.jpg.c8a780bbf78bdb733562f48d45c6c5e5.jpg

This 1/72 kit allows open/close option of landing gears, air brake, missile bay, and arresting hook. The mold is mostly crisp and smooth, but it'll need trimming between boosters and nuzzles. It’s a simple and fun build overall.

Which version of the monster? Just wondering what the weight tolerance is for the motor to be able to push..

Model kits would be no problem i should say, since they hardly weigh much compared to a diecast.

haha I was talking about the Monster in M Zero ;)

is the bigger one the Battle 25 or 7? was it released earlier and where to get one?

the sign on the back says __ K Models. there's an ebay seller named GK Models who sells MaK and Macross resin stuff. i wonder if it's the same.

i suppose the MQ in the foreground is the Mechacolle? would be cool if the Battle and Uraga were scaled to that.

    definite WANTs!

From what I understand the model is a prototype 3D print, not on sell yet. Size unknown but looks small.

The Chinese characters in the picture “舰匠” means "Ship Craftsman" so my guess is Ark Model. I just emailed them and maybe they will respond.

Haha thanks all. My case is minor and I never felt the need to go to the emergency room or anything. Just super fatigued for almost two weeks and didn't have the energy to do anything except rest, watch TV, and occasionally crawl to the kitchen to eat something.  I'm still barred from returning to work pending a negative COVID test, but at least I'm still getting paid. :yahoo:

Anyway, it seems Yamato took a page from Bandai's playbook and started screwing and gluing everything together, making taking apart the VF-11 a bit of a chore.

Made my own decal sheet in preparation. Decals are for both the B and C.

Welcome back and nice work. The VF11C is the best looking fighter in M7 to me :D

    Take care!

I was in 5th grade when MOSPEADA was aired on T.V. My mind was blown away after watching the first episode.

    * Add Phalanx Destroid

    1899201495_Destroids2.jpg.2a80566bac2a53998f3487ca80fc8ce9.jpg

I like the Destroids and wish there were more of them.

    Phalanx.jpg.1d41afbd13327e8870408f8a0a2ec877.jpg

This model isn’t so great because it has visible seaming lines, fitment is average, and no color separation. The only good thing is its price ;)

  15. Update on the first post

    * Add YF19 Prototype No.3 "Bird of Prey"

    1703725840_YF19Prototype1.jpg.5e87888164b96342b69192b89ea7234c.jpg

The Yamato YF19s are simple and effective toys. They were pioneers at the time but do feel a bit dated today. To keep them fresh, I added some water-slide decals and panel lines.

    IMG_4291.jpg.b5a0d35ddc9f29ebc5befc7865b5cfaf.jpg

The best part of this project was to make a custom Sharon Apple decal. Here are the steps if you want to create your own decals ;)

    1. Find an image and make the background transparent. I used a freeware called Lunapic.

    Luna.JPG.2d5b256fb78892d1f03d8ccf50c4c0d9.JPG

    2. Edit the image on Google Drawings

    3. Print a sample and test fitment

    4. When ready, print on a decal paper (recommend 600+ dpi)

    5. Use bonding spray to protect your decal

    6. Done! Cut it to the desirable shape and it's ready to use
