  1. Interesting. You could probably fit that whole thing into the 8 bit Nintendo's cartridge slot!
  2. Trust me... its just a new shell for the same old mistakes lol Yeah no kidding. The hardware won't matter anything if they keep their marketing focus on lil barnacles and Pokemon as opposed to targeting a wider cash-spending audience. By cash-spending audience, I don't mean the type that have to ask mom if they can go outside and play.
  3. Don't panic. There's a switch in the front under the loading slot. It's flush so it probably is touch sensitive. It mars the aesthetic design when you have a flip switch sticking out in the front, so they put it in the back - just like the PS2.
  4. LOL, why is Nintendo always the last to adapt to change in the video game wars? It only took them how many years to come up with something that looks like a PS2?! First they stubbornly stuck with cartridge, then this proprietary minidisc, without the capability to play DVDs... now they are finally coming around. DOY!!! Thanks Nintendo, you're only a couple of years late to the older market of game buyers.
  5. Aborigines could hunt for food with that controller.
  6. Man, that final episode was horrible. I haven't watched Enterprise since the first season and something tells me there were far better episodes during other seasons that would've made a better epilogue. It just felt really uninspired and boring. The definition of anti-climactic. Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis look out of shape. Even Marina Sirtis had the older Kirk paunch going on. I could see why the Enterprise actors felt pissed about having that as their farewell episode. They were relegated to being holograms for Riker to run and stop at will. The only good thing about that episode was seeing Picard and Kirk's ships rendered in CG.
  7. I just realized why MS Igloo has the feel of stuff like MS Era, Gundam Sentinel and Char's Counterattack. Both Hajime Katoki and Yutaka Izubuchi are involved in design work on this project, with Izubuchi acting as supervisor. The director of the 0083 OAV series, Takashi Imanishi, is also director on Igloo. Izubuchi was responsible for a majority of the mecha designs in Char's Counterattack. With Gundam veterans like that on board, no wonder it's as well put together as it is.
  8. This show is pretty damn awesome. It makes me glad that they are finally getting that there are two core Gundam audiences, the ones pre-1995 that watched UC shows (that are older and want something with more substance like Igloo) and the newer fans that watch more of the flashier stuff like Seed. The animation of the CG characters feels a bit unnatural and unsettling (especially with the first episode) but the main attraction is the mecha. The space battles are pretty damn impressive and are on the par of stuff from Legend of Galactic Heroes and Yamato 2520 (which are more on the realistic side). With the amount of detail they show each mecha and the seriousness with how they approach battles, I think this is as close to the feeling of MS Era and Sentinel Gundam that we will ever get.
  9. I can argue that easily. Kotetsu Jeeg is way uglier. Its the only super robot with pinstripes. Although, this guy is also pretty damn ugly. Behold, "Golden Warrior Gold Lightan" AKA the only super robot to double as a meat tenderizer in its off time! Beat that.
  10. I am such an idiot. I had this really nice diecast toy of Grendizer with the UFO and everything. But I banged it all up when I was a kid smashing it up against my diecast Matchbox cargo truck until his head dented and the UFOs wings broke off. Then I used it like a oversized shuriken against a dirt mound. Now to think how I could of had it in my collection case... instead of that damn Matchbox cargo truck which my dad handed to me many years later.
  11. Meh. If it weren't for the fact that Wilt Chamberlain is dead, I'd say drop the whole Conan sh*t and get with the "Bambatta" movie! He could've been a total a-hole in the whole movie like he was in Destroyer and get all the ladies too, even ones like the prepubescent Olivia D'Abo!
  12. So to summarize, even at half, Voltes V is more robot than Combattler could hope to be.
  13. So you like your planes with big martian antennae? The Voltes V head jet can shoot razor sharp boomerangs of doom!!! And it's red like the Red Baron's plane of death!! Combattler's head looks like a flying ladybug of fruity love!!
  14. Voltes V's head makes a way better plane than Combattler's. AND Voltes V has a ninja chick as a protagonist. So there.
  15. Does anyone have the old die cast transforming Voltes V toy? I'm talking about the big one that actually separated into the ships. Man, that toy was awesome. I remember being 6 and seeing some kid on my block playing with it back in PI. I looked down at my 5 inch die cast Mazinger Z and felt inadequate. It's pretty pricey nowadays if you can find it in good form.
  16. I enjoyed the second episode. I liked the other Buster Machine, although Deux Neuf still looks like a Jojo's Bizzare Mecha instead of a proper robot. I've always thought the animation and music was top notch, but with other stuff like Aquarion out there, this doesn't capture my attention as much. That may change since Aquarion may be a lot more conventional in plot while Gainax might actually throw some innovation in there. After seeing two episodes now, I definitely don't like the characters that much except for Nono and that's only because she's an entertaining nude bubblehead half the time. When the space monster attacked, I loved how they worked in the old Gunbuster battle theme into there. I wonder how well this is selling in Japan?
  17. What's the deal with the Super Freedom lineart? In the bigger picture to the right, the railguns are on the hips, but on the smaller pictures to the left, the beam rifles are on the hips. Are they interchangeable?
  18. Old combiner type Super Robot Not to mention the unofficial Philippine national hero. Why doesn't Uncle Sam have a super robot? patriotism--; Actually you have the Six Million Dollar Man. Or the Terminator (er, Governator)... take your pick. Man, I remember how popular Voltes V was in the PI... the 45 of the theme song sold out everywhere even though it was in Japanese.
  19. You gotta love the expression on Shinn's face...
  20. Something funny for the Lunamaria lovers out there:
  21. Does anyone know what ever happened to Psycho Sid?
  22. When Rey was in the infirmary he had a flashback of when he was a child. It looked like he was with two people that looked like Neo and Dullindal. Am I right or is one of those people supposed to be a woman? If it is Neo and Dullindal, it opens a lot of questions... you do see all three together in the 2nd and new openings.
