    In that case, I'd recommend you hunt down this version: The "AvP2" warrior design incorporated elements from Giger's original Alien, Cameron's redesign for Aliens, and the longer appendages from the later sequels... and, since it's neither blue, nor green, or brown-tinted, it's about as "generic" as a Xenomorph figure can be. It's also the largest of NECA's drones at this scale.

    Simple answer: Mospeada merchandise has always been superior to Robotech merchandise, just as Mospeada is superior to Robotech.

    Well, that's the easy answer, obviously... ...but I assume he meant "warrior" Xenomorph, as opposed to a chestburster, facehugger, or any other representation of the life-cycle (not to mention variants like the neomorph, queen, "newborn," "Predalien," or "Deacon"). Of course, that still leaves numerous options... ...without even considering battle-damaged variants... ...film or toy concept variants... ...or comic and video game variants. I think you'll have to be more specific. I mean, the typical Xenomorph drone has appeared in seven films over the past four decades, and every single film has redesigned the suit... ...and between Kenner, Aoshima, McFarlane, NECA (and several other manufacturers), there are several competing versions from each film. Some have a preference based on the quality of the film they represent... ...some have a preference based on the aesthetics of a particular design... ...and some just gotta have every variant of every figure from every film!

    Were you aware that Toynami issued a recall on that particular model? As much as I laugh derisively at "the high level of quality that our customers expect," I must grudgingly respect them for taking responsibility for that particular dumpster fire. That doesn't excuse the rest of their product line, of course, but it does suggest that the Shadow Alpha was, somehow, even worse. Refunds were issued, no questions asked, for a full two months after the announcement.

    I see the black background is throwing off your color balance -- slightly green tint in the old pic, and significantly violet tint now. I occasionally experience similar problems, but it's easy enough to fix in post.

    Fair enough... I've never even bothered transforming mine. I have absolutely no use for a transformable Walther P38 replica, and its accuracy can't hold a candle to the Walther P38 BB guns I have. I think it's a common fallacy to assume MP-10 established a new scale, when it fact it was MP-3, Kawamori's Masterpiece Starscream, that established the current scale. Sure, MP-5 (Megatron) and MP-8 (Grimlock) were outliers, but MP-9 (Rodimus Prime) was consistent with the Seeker scale, and MP-10 (Convoy) was designed to be equal in height to Rodimus, as the ubiquitous handshake image constantly reminded us: Thus, MP-10 was merely following an already-established scale, not setting a trend.

    Proportions aside, the size alone puts MP-5 out of the running. Why all the hate for MP-36, all of a sudden? If it weren't such a popular toy, there wouldn't be so many KO variations, would there? Mine just needed a little paint and a sticker... Now he's perfect.

    Despotron, Apollyn, Mightron, MP-36, MP-36+, MagTen, THF, IF... Talk about being spoiled for choice! And to think, just a scant four years ago, this was as close as we got to a G1 Megatron at Masterpiece scale: What a time to be a collector!

    Either way, it's their funeral. This could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. The threat of litigation could bring down the whole third-party market.

    Look, Zeta, I get it -- you've got to sell people on this design before they decide to order the HasTak instead -- but it's not just another third-party you're competing with this time. HasTak are desperately trying to crowdfund their figure, and you're trying to take money out of their pocket, enticing them with an unlicensed version of the same character. Do you know what "poking the bear" means?
