  1. Mine too, I will end up wanting one of these for sure, but I have a few expenses coming up that are keeping me from committing to the purchase. I have a feeling that when this gets a little closer to fruition, there will be some more people hoping to tack on an order..... like me Keep up the good work, the work you have done so far looks great.
  2. I had some fun over the weekend I thought I would share A buddy of mine moved back into town and wanted to go up to the range this past weekend and put his old riot shotgun through it's paces, he has an old 12 guage remington police riot shotgun his father passed down to him about 6 years ago, I cleaned up my mom's old Mossberg 500 "Special Purpose" 12 guage she bought from a cop friend when he decided to upgrade and we headed up to the range. Unbeknownst to us, the range had gone under new ownership and they closed their pistol and rifle ranges and went to strictly a skeet/trap range. Well, we didn't want to leave with all that ammo and the range owner said any shotguns were fine on the range so long as we adhered to the club rules so we got in line and got a skeet lane after a 20 minute wait as spectators admiring the other shooters $2000.00 Bennelli's and such, the doctor/dentist skeet crowd.. Anyhow, so we grab our lane and head down, I gotta say, I had more fun shooting skeet with those to stubby riot guns than I ever had with a long gun, and they were easily twice as loud as the other guns on the range, after about 20 rounds each we had a pretty decent crowd gathered wondering what the hell we were doing up there with riot shotguns on the skeet range, but it also may have been the giggling between rounds . Anyhow, just thought I would share a pointless gun related story. Any of you guys ever et to play with the Benelli M1014 tactical shotgun? I wonder if they are really worth $....
  3. E-mail received, will be sending payment at lunchtime Thanks for the quick reply! ~Edit deposit on 2 kits Paypaled today.
  4. I have one of those old Arii 1-D gerwalk model kits on my bench, it is all ready for assembly, but I am trying to decide if I want to sculpt a new set of hands for it, the hands that come on that kit are way, way out of scale. That and I have several dozen 40K miniatures in different stages of paint and assembly, that is a hobby that never gives me a break
  5. I want a tactical scout in this scale so bad I can taste it, seperate kit or upgrade parts just let us know how you plan to package it
  6. So clean, So pretty! Great work, those are a real pair of beauties
  7. Gooberish drooling aside, Cap, what are the odds of you making the Tactical Scout upgrade kit? The with level of detail you are showing so far, after everyone has had a chance to place an order, if you decide to make the Missle carrier and Tactical Scout I will have to buy a third Regult kit and both upgrade kits from you guys so I can build one of each. Have the final height dimensions of the model been determined already?
  8. Dude, I am speechless....... Since I have been reduced to making grunting noises of approval at this stage.... Unngggah Gooooooood!!!! Regullttt Gooooood!!!
  9. I am a member of the Skullknight.net and Hawks.org message boards and while there have been lots of rumors incessantly about a season two Berserk Anime it is just rumor right now, with no hard plans in place. Miura is pretty protective of the Berserk saga, he has been working on it for a long time, and I can't blame him, so you can bet when the announcement is made on any further animated Berserk there will be quite a bit of media coverage in the anime community. Berserk is an adult themed manga, the story, the violence, the theme of the books, it just isn't aimed at kids, so I wouldn't be intimidated by it, and I really don't think that the sexual content is handled gratuitously, or for purposes of titilation, the elements in the manga are all story important. It is my favoraite manga of all time, bar none and I don't hesitate to recommend it to people, but you should know going in that it isn't a happy-go-lucky story.
  10. Is it really a no-no to place them in opposing directions so you can have a "Good Side" in each mode? I have alway put mine, right back from the days of Jetfire with one side up for Battroid, (Usually the right side of the gun) and one for side up in Valk. I might just have learned to live with something that looks retarded to most, but the upside down sticker doesn't bother me too much, knowing that I have at least one right side up in any mode.
  11. Excellent advice, it is also a really good idea to scour his site if you are a Robotechie who has recently tapped into your deep love of the Macross series and want to know the key differences between the series, the companies and the toys
  12. I think they were talking about two things though, A. First applying heat to iron air bubbles out of the screen protector film that someone applied to their screen. As with vynil stickers and other adhesive attached films, the goal is to heat the bubbley sticker until the adhesive underneath becomes soft and the sticker becomes slightly maleable so you an push the air bubbles out from under the sticker. This could be dangerous for yoru LCD if you end up significantly raising the temperature of the screen or worse yet outright burning it. B. Applying a small amount of liquid to the screen before setting the screen protector film on the unit, allowing for ease of placement and again to push air bubbles out from under the film before it is "attached" to the screen. Here the danger is getting liquid into the electronics of the PSP. You can put your keyboard in your dishwaher, and chances are it will work fine if you let it dry completely before using it again, (I know, dumb, but I have witnessed this on a keyboard that had a coke spilled in it, worked perfectly after the dishwasher and a week of air drying.) But if you get some water or liquid in yor PSP and then run power through it, you can damage it, I haven't taken mine apart to check the seals, but with the coutours of the PSP I think it would be easy to get some water in the speaker holes or around the buttons. Essentially, I am just saying, I would suggest a little caution with etiher of these methods, seems like either way, if you aren't careful you might break something.
  13. going overboard with their method is going to screw up your PSP. High heat on an LCD screen is bad mojo, likewise allowing even a miniscule amount of water to seep into your buttons or cracks in the it would also be a bad idea. Slow careful application would seem to be the wisest move.
  14. That is a pretty good idea, minor dead pixel units would be great for passing around the store. Personally, after seeing the effect a hands on demonstration has with people I think word of mouth and friends demostrating the thing is by far more powerful advertising than TV or Magazine ads could be with the thing. By the way, I was skimming boards and searching and it turns out Square Enix has already got a PSP Final Fantasy game in development. The game is going to be called FF7: Crisis Core you can search it on the net to find out more, 1up.com had a tentative release date in late June, hopefully they will have it playable at E3 with some other major announcements. No April Foolin, I looked it up last night and was extremely giddy to see a semi-confirmed Square-Enix release. I am highly excited to see what is in store for the PSP.
  15. Looks completely bad-ass so far, as always, I'm in awe of your skills
  16. Yeah, I believe Mike said he got his running on the web, I got mine online through the Wipeout loophole yesterday. It is a little clumsy using the pop-up cell phone like keypad but it works. It won't run quicktime or win-media applications so you can't watch movie trailers or video content on the web in most cases but it will get you to web pages and show most standard images. I couldn't get mine to load up modern Flash pages, so I assume it doesn't have flash player capability, and it may never. It will allow you to do handy things like look up movie times, mapquest maps and phone numbers in the yellow pages online. So it has some uses. That episode of South park was great. I love how quickly those guys can jump on a topic and crank out an episode, and wrapping the PSP, Lord of the Rings, Terry Shiavo and The Last Starfighter all into one cohesive funny storyline made it even better
  17. Had I to guess why they delayed Hotshots, I think that the real answer is that they are staggering some of their completed releases just to make sure they have games in the pipeline while some of the third party developers catch up on programming for the thing. If I read the releases right, they aren't planning on an official wireless browser / full internet capability roll-out until after June, Hot Shots is showing a May release date last time I checked. Not to be a pessimist, but I expect a short lull in game releases and probably a ton of PSP future title announcements at E3, the RPG titles from Atlus and Square-Enix won't be announced till then, but both are on the list of registered PSP developers. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the reason for a few of the game release push backs was just to be sure it didn't look like no games were en route.
  18. I am ready for a new butt kicker flick, I'd go see it. Speaking of "Everyman" action flicks, I saw an episode of the Sunday Morning shoot out on AMC and Brude Willis said that they are prepping to do another Die Hard movie, and he swore that it had a solid script and read as well or better than Die Hard with a Vengeance. I liked those movies I hope this one is as good.
  19. Yeah I am fairly sure from what I have read that the lawsuit is specifically over the 'Dual Shock" technology, I think worst case scenario for Sony is they have to pay the fine, then either pay licensing fees, or they repackage the PS2's with non-dual shock controllers and stop selling Dual shock crap. Best case, they get an overturn on appeal, or a significant reduction in the fines and can work something out with the tech company claiming patent infringement. It really is a magnificent device, I went and downloaded the PSPphoto program linked from 1up.com site for compiling books and manga last night. I have the entire run of official Berserk Manga from Japan up to date and I downloaded the scanslations up to volume 25 a few months ago I loaded up a couple volumes last night onto some spare room on my memory card, looks pretty cool, however I need to figure out how to reformat them to landscape view so they will be larger images that take up the full screen. Little details, overall the functions of the thing are fantastic!
  20. SO far as I can tell, there are no U.S. UMD's for sale at this time through retail. The first batch of movies is showed a release date of April 19, 2005 according to Amazon.com, there are only like five titles due otu then, xXx, Once Upon a time in Mexico, Hellboy and some other stuff. I read that a second batch of like 12 titles was due out in a month or two after that. I read that Lion's Gate and Disney had both penned deals with Sony to release movies on UMD so we will probably be seeing some more title announcements in the next few weeks.
  21. UnclemonkeybutterOMGl33tBBq~! that rocks the house I gotta find a hotspot and fiddle with mine tomorrow Awesome man!
  22. I grabbed this off the 1up message boards, no further explanation or links did I see, if I find out more or get out to a local Hotspot to test it I will let you know. Anyhow, here is the messageboard post I copied: PSP WEB PORTAL If you have a PSP, set your Primary DNS server to 67.171.70.72 -- I've got a portal of sorts up. Set your secondary DNS to your router so if my IP changes or my machine goes down, you'll still be able to access the internet. Then just fire up Wipeout and head to the downloads section, you should see this: Those without a PSP, you can still check it out here. Update: I've added a URL bar to the bottom so you can type in a URL and go wherever you want. Enjoy. Another Update: All links including launching from the URL bar now use php to put a "toolbar" across the top so you can enter new URLs without returning to the portal. Thanks to MomDad for that. 23. I totally agree about recordable UMD's, they need to get on that, apparently they are paranoid about people having a portable piracy device if they do it, at least that is the latest excuse I have heard for them refusing to allow the format to be useful I too still have my both of my launch PS2's, Japanese and American and both have logged hundreds if not thousands of hours of use over the years, both work fine. I know many people have had them crap out, but so far I have had really good luck with my Playstations. I gave my original 1st generation PS1 to my nephew about a year and a half ago, when I talked to him on easter he said it still worked. I wonder about the system life myself, but since I was investing 270 bucks in a portable system I bought the extended, "Smash it with a hammer and we will still replace it" warranty from EB, so I know I will get at least 2 years out of it Anyhow, I don't own Sony stock or anything, I could care less if anyone else buys one I guess. I am glad I have mine, I have had so much fun just playing around with the features that the 25+ hours I have spent actually playing extremely fun games on it seem like icing on the cake Have any of you guys seen this stuff about internet browsing on it through Wipeout Pure? I got a little walkthrough I need to try out. Supposedly you can go through the update feature in Wipeout Pure and browse the net, message boards and stuff.
  24. Dead pixels are a fact of life with LCD screens, occasionally you are going to get them. I bought 2 PSP's, one for myself and one for my brother, niether of them have any QC issues so far, and we have both logged over 30 hours play time since last thursday. All I can tell you , is from personal experience, I have had a magnificent experience with the PSP so far. I have ripped a few cool DVD videos, loaded up some family photos and a few MP3's to show off it's capabilities to my friends and everyone I have shown agrees that it is a truly magnificent device. If you are waiting around because some other poeple have had annoying dead pixels, you might as well wait until the next screen technology comes out, because every mass amrketted product with LCD screens has units with dead pixels. I have yet to hear of anyone who bought a PSP and tried to return it due to troublesome dead pixels only to be refused the right to an exchange or refund. the most recent cool idea I read for using the PSP is to read Scanslated manga and novels. I am going to snag the software tonight and try to load my Berserk Scans onto my PSP, that would be a really cool thing to be able to carry around
  25. Target stores were selling the system bundle by itself. After I got home with mine and showed my brother what it could do we ran right out the door and picked one up for him. As far as the article, I don't have permission to re-post it, but I think so long as I give credit where it is due, This is from the 1up.com website, visit www.1up.com and check out thier PSP section here is a link to the article that I pulled the walkthrough from: PSP DVD to MPeG4 walkthrough Here's a quick rundown on getting that favorite DVD video running on your PSP 1. You're going to need your video files in MPEG4 file format for the PSP to read. With the proper instructions (the PSP manual isn't much help), you'll be ripping DVDs like a pro. Start by choosing the DVD you want to rip and putting it into your computer's DVD drive. 2. Do a quick Google search, download the free DVD Decrypter program, and open it up. 3. Click the Mode tab, scroll down and select IFO. 4. Now click the Tools tab, select IFO Mode and make sure the option File Splitting is set to "None." 5. Click OK, under the Input window click the movie. 6. Now select the Stream Processing tab, enable Stream Processing, and select your video. 7. You're now ready to start ripping. Click that big DVD disc to begin the processing of ripping the DVD into a file stored on your hard drive. 8. Now with the video file on your HD, you have a variety of programs at your disposal which will help you convert the file into proper formatting for PSP viewing. A quick Google search of 3GP Converter, iPSP, or the new PSP Video 9 will yield programs you can use to convert that ripped video file. 9. For Mac users, give iPSP a shot. And for PC users not comfortable with talk of bitrates and encoding will enjoy PSP Video 9's user-friendly interface. 10. Now connect your PSP using a USB 2.0 cable and click the "USB Connectivity" option in the PSP's main menu. This will allow you to browse the Memory Stick Duo inserted into your PSP. 11. Be careful where you place the video file on the Memory Stick. Unlike music and picture files, your video files need to be placed outside of the "PSP" folder. Create a folder called "MP_ROOT" and inside that folder create another folder named "100MNV01." That is the folder you need to copy your encoded video files to. 12. Be careful how your video files have been named. Programs like iPSP will properly name your video files automatically. Naming your MP4 files "24_Season_3.MP4" won't work. The files need to be named like this: "M4V00000.MP4"; you can change the numbers "00000" to fit your preference (like "M4V00027.MP4"). 13. You're done! If you get stuck on any of the above steps, scour internet message boards for help. Hundreds of philanthropic techies will be explaining the above steps on forums come March 24, and thousands of others will be pleading for their help. I followed those directions a had absolutely no problems, the DVD Decrypter program and the PSP Video 9 program are all you need and are free where as the 3G and IPSP were both software for sale. I will be sending a donations to the free ware sites, because that stuff literaly made my night people this afternoon, because that software package did exactly what I needed it to do and was very easy to use.
