  1. And to the subject of foreplay, I'd say that the Cylons without Ressurection tech are not interested in a frontal assault either. They haven't discussed the status of Galactica's weapon stores in a while but I'd imagine that Adama has at least one nuke stashed away for a rainey day, that combined with the cornered animal effect, if the humans have lost hope and are confronted with a "Final Battle" many of them would happily Kamikaze on the enemy to die a glorious death instead of starving to death in cold bleak outer space. I think someone said, 'Ramming Speed" in a previous post. Hell, the Galactica is in such bad shape and Adama seems to be a bit of a mess after shouldering the burden of protecting the human race for the run of the show, I could see him Ramming Galactica down their throats as a final mission for the ship. Who knows, it sure doesn't look like we are headed for a happy ending though.
  2. Probably so that Boomer could infiltrate and get Hera. If the Cylons could track the fleet by an abnormal radiation signature put off by the tillium ship, I have no doubt that they have the capacity to track an injured Basestar anywhere in the galaxy.
  3. In for Glaug, possibly two if it would make the difference between a run making it or not, it's not like I'd have a hard time finding a buyer for a spare I didn't need within a short period of shopping it around.
  4. Does someone know something I don't? Has madCatz suddenly started putting out quality products? A couple years ago I'd have rather had my junk bitten off by a rabid wolverine than purchase any peripheral made by Madcatz, 175 bucks for a used arcade stick?
  5. I watched the premiere episode. After Firefly, Whedon will have to pull an M. Night to get me to completely give up. That being said the show didn't really "pop" to me, I'll watch more, there is room for some neat story development, and he definitely knows how to make characters likeable and interesting, so I hope that the fact that his main character is going to spend a lot of time not being herself doesn't detract from her likability. Anyhow, I didn't think it was bad, so I'll give it a shot.
  6. Then Baltar can be the one to end John and will end up being the saviour of humanity in the end ~edit! Better yet he can be physically controlled by the vision of 6 and be the hand of God / Son of God being struck down while landing the killing blow on John/Cavill
  7. You are probably going to get a ton of different responses, everybody I kow has their own preferences and techniques. Personally I came back to model building after a long stint of miniature painting for RPG's tactical board games like Warhammer 40k. I prime everything, and I use (let the gasps ensue) Krylon primers for metal and plastic. They are cheap, they work well and I find that priming gives me a more consistent result and helps me find problem areas and imperfections before I am working with final colors. Priming takes patience though because if you do it wrong you lose surface detail on your kits, thin coats, less is more, you are just trying to get a nice smooth surface with good paint adhesion properties, not cake the thing in cheese. Anyhow, I use a wide range of different paints. i primarily use water based acrylics, Vallejo, Polly S, Testors water based, I also use quite a bit of Tamiya because they have a fantastic range of military colors that the competition doesn't do quite as well in my opinion. Using water based acrylics I clear coat pretty much every finished kit, Depending on the size of the kit I will use either a Testors flat clear that i can run through my air-brush or (gasp again) Krylon rattle can flat clear.
  8. Here is my guess. no clue what will really end up happening though.
  9. Clearly all the horsepower blew the chains right off the rear (Drive) wheels.
  10. We never got to see pictures but I had envisioned more of a pistol version of the Metalstorm cannon. Caseless preloaded barrels, I'm not sure if that was in the thread or my brain was trying to wrap around what kind of cool mosterous device the Cap'n had devised.
  11. Can't help with the money angle because quality and small runs like this aren't cheap. For the quality of product John has been turning out, these kits have been I have yet to feel any buyer's remorse and I have picked up a couple of each of the kits he has done so far. On the modelling skills end of things, you shouldn't be too intimidated. Cap'n's kits are among the best resin kits I've dealt with, you just need to be a little patient and take your time on initial clean up, for the most part he makes sure that the pour marks are on places where the kit is assembled so even if you do screw up a little on the pour stubs it isn't visible on the finished kit. Get a couple cheap plastic model kits and put them together for practice if they come out OK you'll be able to handle these. I have to tell you that while I was in love with the Yamato Valks, I have much more attachment to and care more for the Moscato Macross kits in my display case.....because I built them. It's that little somethign extra that makes them special.
  12. I just finished Chains of Olympus for the second time last night. Thanks for posting that teaser, it sent a shiver down my spine
  13. I banked cash for this the first time you mentioned it. I hope to have enough set aside for 2 or 3 kits. I am very, very ,very excited about this kit.
  14. I'm glad I stuck with the thread before posting. I rank Visitor Q as my number one, screwed up asian cinema film, I'll watch anything Miike does. In fact I have collected a great number of his movies. Happiness of the Katakuris is a pretty funny weird movie, a musical about a family of serial kilelrs that own a hotel. Ichi the Killer, most people have seen or heard about this one. If you want a near David Lynch mind trip check out Izo, or Gozu for that matter. His recent US release of Samurai Django was a rpetty fun movie, pretty tame for a Miike flick though.
  15. Valve + FPS + Zombies + Multiplayer = Win Period. I pre-ordered it through steam a couple weeks ago. I don't know if any of you guys played They Hunger the Half Life mod a couple years ago but this game has been a long time coming.
  16. I was sold on GHWT when I saw that they had included 3 Tool tracks. I was and continue to be shocked at how hard you have to wail on the drums for the bonus notes, I assume they were designed to take the abuse but you really have to crank them pretty good. I played some Rock Band 1, have not tried RB 2, I like the new Guitar Hero guitar controllers better than I like the RB guitar, but I am probably biased by the year + of Guitar Hero controller use I had behind me.
  17. Kinda gives new meaing to "May the Force be with you" I have several options if a good aprty presents itself this year. I was considering somehow merging Zombie with Stormtrooper, that armor is such a pain in the ass (literally) that zombieing it up might actually make it more fun to wear It's a cheap old FX suit anyhow so I' won't be doing any sort of grave injustice to a piece of movie history or anything. If I get some time to do it and a little more motivation maybe I'll post it up on the RPF.
  18. Edit- out of the loop, I didn't realize Toynami was importing the Beagle Ride Armor. I thought it was a $220 Toynami orginal, and I threw up a little.
  19. There is a new Mastodon record on the horizon. I am excited about it, AI haven't heard of much else coming out soon to look forward to. Anything else heavy coming out in the near future?
  20. In my opinion, with the Sylar and Mohinder "powers are due to a defect or difference in the anatomy" explanation, Peter would have the guy whose body he is trapped in's powers, but not know how to use them because the hero's all seem to learn from use or something like muscle memory. If I had to guess, they specifically didn't say what his power is on purpose, Future Peter has somehow gained the power to transfer people out of their body and into another. That makes for a couple possibilities, it's a stretch, but possibly,, future Peter isn't really Peter but a villain who stole his body. It is poszsible that the guy whose Body Peter is now trapped in has the power to transfer bodies, maybe Future Peter came back and took his power and dumped Present Peter in his body. Who knows, they could literally make it be anything, Mighty Mouse's dyslexic pychic cousin could teleport in and steal his body. Ripev_Onex your English was very clear and easy to understand. I know what you mean about Heroes relying upon Time Travel, I think it is unfortunate though because it causes so many plot holes sometimes and leaves the show open to sloppy, short-cut endings that are unsatisfying. I genuinely believe they could improve the overall quality of the show if thye removed that element, or at least severely restrained it. The should kill off Peter, who is basically God when you consider that he can time travel and absorb the powers of any Hero that exists giving him infinite power to stop anything before it happens or intevene in any activity and even multiple activities happening in the same moment in time all over the planet, and then let Hiro have a Moral Crisis and banish Himself to a cave in the Hymalayas to ponder the universe and provide wisdom to the other Heroes when there is a dire crisis pending but refuse to intervene due to his chances to destroy the space time continuum. They could do the same with Peter, he realizes how badly he can screw up everything and removes himself from the game to ascend to some form of minor diety-hood, which might be a better idea because he has already sort of shifted from inherently good to a more neutral character wih his capacity for violence (If that is really Peter).
  21. See my friends and I wrote off to Sylar being cute and toying with her, he had cornered the mouse and was playing with it. Now my serious question, and I'll stay away from time travel because it is just a deal breaker for me, they have to kill all the time travel characters immediately if they want the show to not seem retarded week in and week out, but back to my question.
  22. I swear I got one of those. I must have hidden it from myself, if I recall the box was bigger than the destroids, I bet I put it with my 3/4 built 1/72 Monster, better find it when I get home.
