Is this project shaking hands with the Titanic or is it just floating off shore waiting for the tide to come in

Justicar can do this and do it well, I've got a half dozen of his Star Trek kits, they are tiny and highly detailed. After the 1/2000 toy fiasco I hope that enough people decide that they'd rather have a model kit and get interested but only time will tell.

Wow, that came out great. The lift, the valk, the launch arm, the launch vehicle, just Wow., great job, thanks for sharing the great pics

Welcome, and thanks for sharing. I don' t think there's a much better way to do an intro post than to show off some work you've done, thanks for contributing!
I like the kit and I think it came out great, I expecially like the subtle weathering, not overdone, just right IMO.

We've had two of our talented kit makers on the board talk seriously about making a macross kit in the same scale range for a fraction of the price, (I know we are in the toys thread, sorry) but the discussion of this thing being on the horizon I suspect put them both off the idea. All i can say is no way in heck I'm gonna fork over $2,000 for a toy or model of the Macross, I want one, but that's too much for this collector.
-
I want one of these, but 2K for a toy/display model is more than I can stomach. Maybe this fiasco will spur a couple of the people who were talking about making new model kits into action, because it seems like a stateside fan is boned on this one again.

i LL NEVER SPEND MONEY FOR THE MOVIE VERSION!!!
BLEAH!!!I on the other hand,
I CAN"T WAIT TO SPEND MONEY ON THE MOVIE VERSION!!! YEAH!!!!!!!

Great episode but at the very end Cartman and Kenny are arguing wtf?
Yea, like the mighty X-man Wolverine, or a Highlander his powers of regeneration vary in strength depending upon the needs of the episode.
I enjoyed this one too. I'm pretty pleased with the way most of the animated shows I watch have been going this year.

I saw this trailer several weeks ago at some movie. During the spider demon granny bit my friends and I all look at on another gasped, "Evil Dead 3!~~~!!! Where's Ash?" expecting Bruce Campbell to pull up with in a 57 Chevy with a shotgun and some hot one liners. Then the tone changed and it went all Prophe-Stine and spiky mace wielding gritty angels with demonic pets were fighting dirty people in a diner. Oh well, might be a cool movie, but I felt totally teased and bummed by the intro which had a total Evil Dead vibe to the twisted granny.

I'm not a huge fan of the recent Gundam series I've seen, but I love the robots. The Blue frame is amongst my very favorite Gundam model, I like this new revision alot, and will probably get one, but I'd sell an organ for a PG version of that thing. I think it reminds me of Berserk with the obscenely large sword.

I'm sure you need blabbering from the peanut gallery like you need a hole in the head, but if it were me and I had the masters and the means to reproduce them, I'd probably do a run fast before other kits come out and hit Macrossworld, Starshipmodeler, Resin Illuminati and The RPF offering the kits for sale inthe sale sections and fast before alternative 1/72's come out that are cheaper. Mastered by Moscato carries some weight in the modelling communities, if you don't go overboard with giant runs, and the casts are good I'd be shocked if you can't sell out a run of each. Hell, I think a couple guys onthis board have done deals to have SSM sell their kits, maybe something like that could help you at least recoup your costs on the masters if not turn a small profit.

If they keep showing pictures and taunting us, I might actually begin to believe that they will manufacture these. I am still skeptical, I want one, but I'm worried they will change their minds.

Dear Sweet Bacon-Jesus.... There are a lot of parts... This is a seriously impressive kit, I now understand what you were talking about when you were showing the molds. How you cast thousands of them is beyond me, nice work!!!

Beautiful piece and great photography. Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately I'm a little late to this forum so here goes: where do I get one of these....ummm.....monsters?
Secondary market, like putting a post in the wanted section, or pray that MSLZ22 comes back to the forums and offers another run. He does like the Macross and graces us with hsi presence and skills every once in a while.

~Edit~ speaking of the monster, anyone got a link to some good lineart of the monster, I'm pulling together references to finally finish mine, it's been primed for about 2 years, I guess it's dry now and could use some actual paint. I've got copies of the pics from a couple old threads, the MW frontpage and have a couple of the "rowboattech" art books at the house, just seeing what else is floating around.

I saw it, and I'll agree with most of the comments here. It was good but not perfect, looked neat, was a neat idea but maybe could have used a little more time in the oven.
I saw it Sunday morning and there were two groups in front of me at the theatre, a father with his 6ish year old daughter and a woman with two boys that were probably in the 4 to 7 range. During an early scene in the movie there is a dead human child and at that point one of the kidss started crying and both parents immediately ushered their kids out of the theatre and weren't seen again.
I guess people just see animation in a trailer and assume "kids movie". D'oh!

Almost missed these, thanks for posting

Like the cotton in the Q-tip the brush can aid in capillary action drawing the water out from underneath the waterslide which sets it down on the model and not on a cushion of water which is why it still slides around before you draw the water out from under it. The brush also puts a little pressure on top of the decal expelling the water you are drawing away with the brush stroke.
a damp/wet Q-tip flat on top of the decal won't do anything but push it around, a dry Q-tip at the edge of the decal will draw the water out and set the decal in place.

Zee postman cometh today with a glorious box from Canada
Hooray!Thanks again John!

The fellow that commishioned the master is a member of these boards, I'm sure when it's ready he'll let people know. It's only been a couple months since the master was completed I suspect he's still working out the details on a kit offering. I bet it's pretty difficult to figure out the right price point to recoup your costs, cover manufacturing costs, etc.

From the end of John Rambo or whatever the official title ended up being I had a feeling that they intended to make another one coming full circle.
Something like.... Rambo walks into his Dad's farm to find out that his father died a few days earlier having been denied surgery by a super buff, ex paramilitary, evil hospital insurance adjuster, meanwhile the monsters at the bank are trying to foreclose on the property and are trying to reposess dead daddy's bruial plot as an asset in foreclosure. Rambo finds his father was a former heavy weapons engineer with an underground cache of high tech military weaponry and LSD. The DEA comes to raid the farm, they blow up with LSD bunker, Rambo gets a heavy dose, he goes into a flashback and it's on!

Yep, pretty sure one was
Sam MF'in Jackson
not sure about the over voice over.

It was
Harvey Keitel (sp) aka Winston Wolf
as the commanding officer on the radio at the end of the movie making the deal with Landa unless my ears betrayed me.

Loved it, and I didn't mind that they didn't spell out a hard and fast, complete conclusion for their story, much like the ending for ours isn't set in stone either.

Oh, one other thing: would you guys prefer Quamzin to have the helmeted or unhelmeted head? IdeallyI would've done both, but frankly, I'm pushing 20 molds and about 100 parts as it is.

I may be in the minority but I prefer the un-helmeted head, makes him seem more wreckless to me!

I can't wait to see this, I love me some cheesy kung fu action and am glad to see a new one making the rounds in american theatres. I guess it sucks to be so stilted that you can't sit back and enjoy a silly flick every once in a while.
