  1. Here are some picture comparisions of the upcoming 1/60 scale VF-1 and the good old 1/48 VF-1. This is only a photo comparion based on looks alone. The real comparision will come once the new 1/60 comes out (to compare transformation, function, etc.). Based on looks, I still tend to like the 1/48 ... the larger size just allows for more detail. Sorry about the crappy pics ... when I have more time, I'll post more configs (and hopefully better pics).

  2. Actually that isn't a box at all, it's a blue cardboard slip cover that fits over a regular VF-1s box which the Weathering Special actually comes in.

That's a sweet looking slip cover ... or maybe it's just more appealing because it's impossible to get ?!?!

If anyone wants to ship one to me, I can reproduce it for everyone ... and I'll charge less than $500. ^_^ But seriously, there's huge bootleg/knockoff potential because that slip cover can be easily reproduced. This whole limited thing is stupid.

  3. Getting the replacement arms from HLJ will be expensive for shipping to the US. I think a better option is to buy the replacement part recast from SILVERDRAGON (1/48 and 1/60 parts depot) over in the "For sale" section (I should get a referal discount from him ... haha). Anyways, it's $10 for both L and R arms. I don't know the quality yet, as my order is pending ... but will let you guy know once I receive them.

  4. Wow, the Revoltech line is crazy! They're pumping out all kinds of figures .. left and right. This company does things right ... large selection and no delays. Once they show a prototype ... BAM, it's out on sale in a few months. They don't get stuck in production limbo forever (re: toynami)! Bring it.

  5. Whao, didn't see that coming. Too many products on that page .... too many different scales ... too much temptations ... my head exploding ... Ahhrrgg.

Weathering their toys is a scary option, because they can decide to do that to all of their toys! Hope they don't milk the 1/48 molds by weathering every single 1/48 valk ... just stick to the 1/60 scale.

  6. With the annoucement of a new line of non-transforming action figures, let's start a thread to see pictures of Macross action figures. I'm sure Yamato and Bandai transforming toys are not the only Macross toys that people collect. Let's see your Macross action figure collections. I'll start it off with pics of some CM's figures.

  7. @ dafunguy:

    small collection eiiiy......

i wonder whats ur definition of BIG collection??? heheheheheeh...great cabinet dude!!!

For my definition of a BIG collection, just look at Sithlord's post directly above your post. Click on "check out the shelves" and look at his 2001-2005 stuff ... now get ready to pass out! haha.

  8. If Yamato didn't make Macross toys I would have 1 Masterpiece Fokker with the Appendix A S&S parts and thats it. I got one off of eBay because I thought it would be neat to have something from tha show I loved as a kid.

After getting it I found this damn place and saw picturs of Yamato stuff. It's been downhill since then.

I got my Masterpiece Fokker the second week of July.

I purchased 21 Yamato Mechs since then

Not to mention all the other Macross items like Chara works 1/144's, Doyusha 1/144's Revoltechs (14), Hot Toys figures (8)

    ..........someone stop me! :p

Hahaha, that's exactly what happened to me. I saw the Masterpiece Rick Hunter at GameStop and I got it because I was a big fan of the show growing up. Then I found Macross World and Yamato ... the rest was history. In a way, Toynami got me back into Macross toys ... don't know if that was a good thing or bad thing. :D Here's the POS that started it all for me!!! :p

  9. If Yamato did not make any Macross products, what Macross toys would you be collecting? Bandai? Toynami Masterpiece? Vintage items? Honestly, I don't really like any of those choices. Without Yamato, I know I wouldn't have much of the higher priced items (except probably the Wave SDF-1). I would probably have a bunch of CM's figures, Revoltech figures, 1/100 toynami's, and other smaller scaled stuff.

Makes you appreciate Yamato more now, huh? It would be really sad if Yamato was not around. So from now on, I don't want to hear anymore whining and Yamato bashing. Haha. Just be happy they're around producing cool stuff. You never know what you're going to miss until it's gone. OK, I'm going to my display case now to show some sweet love for my Yamato Macross Toys. (Get your minds out the gutter, not that kind of love)!
