  1. If it were just the helmet and priced around $300-450 range, I'd be interested if they got the Max blue right. I wouldn't want Apollo squadron's purple color. :p The Star Wars Master Replicas clonetrooper helmets went in that price range. And might I add that they had cushion support material inside the helmets so you could wear them.

Yes Star Wars fans are so lucky. Check out all the cool helmets they can get.

Imagine a whole wall of Macross helmets if Macross was like SW merchandise.

  2. I really want one of these helmets. Do you think Yamato will ever release these 1:1 scale helmets again. They seem to re-issue everything else when it comes to Macross ... why not these. I wonder how many were produced and sold the first time. I believe they went for $1,500 - $2,000 US dollors. Does anyone know where to located any? There are lots of companies producing Star War helmets and other type of helmets (Halo) at a reasonable price, so why did Yamato charge so much? Why hasn't anyone reproduced one yet ... it can't be that hard?

(Pardon my grammer, but I get all ghetto when I'm pissed)

  4. Step 1: Order recast shoulder parts.

Step 2: Wait patiently for your order to arrive, cuz seller is really busy.

Step 3: Once the parts arrive, perpare for surgery by removing arm from main body.

Step 4: Next remove shoulder from bicep by loosening elbow screw. Found out that the bicep piece was also cracked! Since this piece is not really a load-bearing part, I'm just going to crazy glue it back together.

Step 5: Perpare for recast installation. Jacked up shoulder on the left and recast on the right.

Step 6: Remove rubber gasket from jacked up shoulder to place on the recast.

Step 7: Drill a hole for the top shoulder screw, as recast doesn't come pre-drilled.

Step 8: Screw the recast pieces together and install the rubber gasket.

Step 9: Connect shoulder back to bicep and main body.

Step 10: Tighten all screws and you're done.

Step 11: Test out the shoulder by holding the gunpod straight out. Mission accomplished!

  5. The 1/60 looks so small compared to the 1/48! It's going to look tiny in my display case (if I get one). Wish they made all the improvements, but in 1/48 scale. Once you go big ... it's hard to go back. (insert ... "that's what she said" jokes here ... haha.) It's sad seeing the 1/48 being phased out.

  6. Well, the one thing that has me waiting for this the most is the fact that I only bought 1 1/48. :p I'm waiting anxiously for employment before I start giving in.

While I don't care so much for the new style of the legs, I don't think they're too bad (yet, have to see them up close to be sure). And despite the new backpack latch, there's one place the 1/60 wins hands down: the fast pack attachment. Every time I put the fast packs on or off my 1J, I'm afraid the back will just snap off. The 1/60 design has the fast packs wrapping around the entire backplate, looking MUCH sturdier.

I can't really see how the 1/60 fast packs gets attached to the backplate??? From the gerwalk pictures, it does look like it sits a little higher on the back compare to the 1/48.

  7. Now....back to the subject at hand. I just can't understand why Yamato decided to make the Macoss Zero and Plus 1/60 figures the size they did. I mean....I'm okay with it and all that...but why?

If they didn't make the Macross Zero/Plus in 1/60 scale, they would have been huge ... way bigger than the 1/48 VF-1!

  8. I didn't realize the big 1/60 hands were options. OK, I switched out the 1/48 chicken hands with bigger hands and put the arm armors on correctly (with the screws hidden and the gunpod holder showing). I think on the 1/60 picture, someone put a right handed armor on the left arm by mistake.
