  1. Does the Tamashii stages even work for the Yamato 1/60 Valks?

I would think even the stage 5 can't hold those.

nope. just saying that if you ar buying a useless "block", it is even better to buy tamashii stages....

you can try holding it up with the whole pack of 3 stands, but I doubt some people would have the guts to do that...

  2. The launch arm stand had four versions.

Original greenish gray, reissued a few times: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10139388

    Black: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10048004

    Silver: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10048005

    Dark blue: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10114747

Main problem with this stand is very high center of gravity with no hinge at the top, so it cannot hold the unit safely at extreme angles.

They also made a smaller "Mighty block" stand: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10088025

Main problem with this stand is the hinges are not strong enough without some simple modification, and it is not tall enough for most battroid mode VF.

Original YF-21 and all Sv-51 came with a very good stand, but it is not compatible with the stand adaptors in other VFs.They only have the "display base" left. They are just little shelves, no arm.

lol whats the point in that...might as well get the tamashii stages.

  3. How did we get from (although it's not official yet) "yamato went bankrupt, oh no, no more 1/60 VF's" to "the desire of a 1/60 VF-1 version 3"????

Arcadia should start with 1/60 v2 Enigma, Blue Roses, Minmay Guard!!

I believe the prices in Japan are actually raising, so I guess lots of people are afraid of them to stop making more valks.

I wouldn't be too afraid of it, since some Yamato products are still scheduled for sale under Arcadia. And even if Yamato doesn't make more, someone still might pick up the market of 1/60 valks and expand it.

  4. more 1/100 scale toys....?

I am quite a huge nut for that scale...mostly because of my wallet/display space though.

but staying on topic, the unique designs of the hi metal could be intergrated to the V2 for a better toy, shoulders, hips, maybe also the ankle movement? a question would be how to make that joint stiff on such a huge toy though.

  5. I mean, if you have multiple valks you would want to display all 3 modes at the same time. Don't think anyone would display a lonely gerwalk unless its like a famous scene. I would display a battroid if it is extremely posable. Otherwise fighter mode is the winner!

  6. its an okay toy...best for displaying in dynamic poses(Only if you have the patience..I personally do, yet that isn't true for all)

the scale is as the pic above, and is actually one of the most on scale 1/100 toys out there.

I personally do have some photos, but I think it really doesnt do it justice..(Provided below)

These were taken from a phone..so details arent great, just showing off the poses(which are about 70% of what this toy is capable of. I could easily do better now with better camera&posing skills.)

here are a list of flaws:

-wings fall off...cant really be fixed.

-loose joints, can be fixed, but mainly the hips are loose and elbows. others work well, but this makes it very hard to pose other than kneels(possible, but takes time)

-(NOT a flaw, but a common issue) people used to say that they can't fold the backpack down..you just have to either push it down harder or adjust the tail fins, which are on simple pegs.

    - for the VF-1A only, the head has to be removed for transformation.

-NO SUPER PACKS and MISSLES, one of the greatest flaws of any VF-1 toy..if you care for fighter mode, you probably shouldnt get this thing.(NO LANDING GEAR either.)

    .

    .

yet still, just for the amount of poses you can do with this thing, it is a great purchase. if you want playability, I say go for Toynami 1/100 and you will never regret..getting the right waves of course.(wave2&4 are safe bets) The revoltech was on sale before on HLJ..so 20 bucks and up is a must. for the same price and some luck, you could get a toynami 1/100.

Thats all the info i could give. Make a wise decision ;)

Another great review, although in japanese. from UNOYO.

  7. some say the transformable revoltech, i disagree..

that thing is fairly decent for display, but for an 8 year old boy to play with, it contains too many little parts that need to be swapped and is very tricky.

I sometimes even find myself losing the HEAD of the figure...good thing I found it..

I vote for toynami 1/100. otherwise, you could build a transformable 1/100 super valk with him!!! enjoy the modeling hobby with him!(although it is not an easy kit...)

  8. they work pretty good

wow. An interesting way to use the flightpose..

although I would imagine there is a loss of freedom while using the stand. I still love the claw type stands most smaller scale robots work with. They provide freedom of angles in battroid modes. The pose look cool with the flightpose, but they probably need some time to set up....love the idea tho.

  9. I dunno, Yamata could be plural for Yamato, I guess..

For stand/display ideas, take a look through the

collection display topic a bit down the list, you'll find dozens of ideas on how to display anything you might

have. You'll see lots and lots of Flightpose stands, those clear, three-pronged, adjustable ones. They're a very popular choice for pretty much any valk of any size, in any mode.

wait....how do they work in batty mode?!

  10. interesting indeed.

love the concept, but legos seem to have loose joints other than the ball joints used on bionicles.

size looks nice and palm sized, but no fighter mode is mad yet. The parts don't seem to form the figter either. Wonder how that will work.

nonetheless, I think the concept is great, and to have a cheaper alternitive to a GBP was always my wish :p

  11. Look at the dates. Its an announcement that a 1/60 version of the gbp is coming. The 1/48 must just have been an eye catch.

    wait..what? Damn was I blinded.

I was wondering how could a 1/48 be that cheap...

they probably saw that people were not willing to pay that much for weathering? I personally would not, since it is a simple process. Although maybe not as good, but not worth the price of almost an additional hundred..

  12. was the original GBP for 1/48th a web exclusive?

if yes, than this was probably just for show.

the signs don't say anything about the armor being weathered. Adding to that, the photo on the back shows an unpainted GBP. If they were to promote a weathered release, they wouldve probably had a weathered photo on the promo poster.
