  1. I wasn't too happy with my Arcadia one, so I definitely hope so! I've got a lot of faith in Bandai, so I know it's possible. But regardless of which is better, I will get this and display it in the same way as that pic, because it just looks so badass that way.
  2. I think it's more like the opposite. More of the active posters in this board are quick to praise Yamato/Arcadia and diss Bandai for whatever reason. I'm actually glad that there are more people that are appreciating Bandai's effort in Macross products now. I like both companies' products, but neither are perfect and each have their own strengths over one another. Yes. I've observed through the years that people are quick to defend Yamato/Arcadia if someone says something bad about them. On the other hand, if someone praises Bandai, they usually get ignored or get pounced upon.
  3. How does one go about fixing the wing?
  4. Okay, I'm a little confused on where the discussion is heading. At first I thought my statement was being disputed. But after reviewing the recent posts, is it safe to say that everyone agrees with my initial statement? "Neither are perfect 1/60 scale. But at least Bandai's Valkyries scale perfectly with each other both in fighter and battroid. Yamarcadia, not so much as seen in the photos jenius provided. Of course some of the blame is on anime magic." Sorry, the quote function wasn't working.
  5. Well, the pilot of the VF-4 flops around too. But flopping around in the cockpit doesn't mean they aren't scaled well IMO. And comparing the pilot figures of Yamarcadia with each other, you'll see some huge discrepancies. Anyway I think someone mentioned before that you shouldn't compare pilots anyways. The main issue with Yamarcadia is that their valkyries scale in one way in fighter mode, then scale in another in battroid. The VF-17, VF-19 and VF-22 really highlight that. Unlike for Bandai's offerings they all scale neatly with each other in all modes.
  6. Thanks, guys! I'll try that. Didn't realize it was a common issue.
  7. Hmm, I'd like to get that repaint just because it has the NUNS markings. I'm not a fan of the SMS.
  8. It leans at an angle. It's more noticeable when looking at the back of the head while it's stored in fighter mode, and comparing it with the neck. Right now I'm forced to use the optional neck cover just so that it's somewhat less conspicuous. I'd like to take a pic and show you exactly, but I've never figured out how to post pictures on this site without having to attach them as files or uploading them to a website and linking from there (I have no registration at any of those sites). Oh, and aside from the tilted head, did anyone have an issue with the Gerwalk joint? On my copy, one of the ratchets on these joints is so hard to collapse. It folds out easily enough, but trying to collapse back for the final ratchet feels like I'm gonna break it. Even though I try putting in more pressure than I've ever used on any other Macross toy, it still won't budge. Right now, the only solution I have is to take the hip apart at that joint and reposition it in the collapsed position before putting it back together. But of course it's a real hassle to have to do it every time. I've tried shaving off a bit of the plastic on the separate "ratchet lock piece", but I'm worried that if I overdo it and shave it off incorrectly, I'll end up rendering the entire ratchet system loose or useless.
  9. Well, they have the VF-171 and the YF-30. So that's not exactly true.
  10. Pardon if this has been asked before, but how do I go about fixing the crooked head/neck on the YF-19? From what I've read, this seems to be an issue in most (if not all) copies of this toy. I saw some members state that they've disassembled the head and straightened it out, but I can't seem to pull the head apart without risk of breaking something.
  11. Neither are perfect 1/60 scale. But at least Bandai's Valkyries scale perfectly with each other both in fighter and battroid. Yamarcadia, not so much as seen in the photos jenius provided. Of course some of the blame is on anime magic.
  12. That's not the fault of the toy, but rather of the design. The toy just copied it so in terms of line art accuracy, the toy got it right.
  13. Hasn't this been the case for a long time now?
  14. IMO, in terms of line art accuracy, I would say the VF-25 Renewals are the closest to perfection. In terms of being a solid 1/60 Macross toy, I'd agree that the VF-1 v2 and after are the best.
  15. Pardon my asking, but the Armored set already comes with its own crotch brace for battroid, right? Why would you need to use/make one based on the Tornado/VF-27 crotch brace?
  16. All I know is that it still looks pretty good to me and the stand doesn't bother me either. Very much looking forward to this and I can't wait to enjoy it in my hands.
  17. I wish the guys in charge of the displays did better in ensuring that they transformed everything correctly. Looking at the battroid pictures (and assuming that the transformation is more or less the same as the previous releases), they missed out on: Flipping down chest covers Flipping out shoulder pauldron "thruster?" tab Folding out the shoulder joint Pulling hip joints outward, then tilting them forward Sliding down back plate Pushing knee joint back up. It currently looks like it's still extended from Gerwalk mode Pulling down the "stand" underneath the cockpit Pushing the elbow joints back in I may have missed out other things, but that's the best I could find from the pictures. Anyway, still very much looking forward to this release. I've always found the 171 design to be really mean looking, especially for a "mass-produced" Valkyrie.
  18. People complaining about NY again? Hasn't this been done too many times already? Seriously, if you don't like their way of business, then please STOP ordering stuff from them. No one is forcing you to do so. No matter how you think they should be doing things, it does not matter. They can do what they want, how they want. It's their business. If we dictate how they should do their work for them just so it meets our needs, then we're just coming off as feeling entitled. Now if their business style will put them out of business, then they will only have themselves to blame. But at least it was on their own terms. The only time we should complain is when they fail to fulfill something that they said they would do, not for things they never said they would. As for myself, my experience with them has luckily been favorable/acceptable, so I will continue to order stuff from NY because they are convenient for me and I can afford their prices (just like for this RVF). When I place my preorders with them, I can clearly see the price I'm expected to pay for it and when. So it's not like they're robbing me blind. Anyway, sorry for the rant but this has gotten really old already.
  19. I just got my YF-19 today and man, people weren't kidding about the ankles. This is probably the first valk I have ever gotten that has had loose ankles out of the box. They're so loose that it can barely stand. I'm constantly worried about it falling face first. This is definitely a major issue and would like to know if there's an easy way to tighten them up. I've seen some people say they've used super glue on the ankles, but I'm not sure I have the technical knowledge and confidence to open up the ankles to do so. Other than the ankles, I guess the rest of the QC was fine. But still, it's a pretty big dink on the score if your battroid can't stand well on its own.
  20. I think people were disappointed because they were expecting more revisions to the mold and perhaps a similar jump in improvement like how the v1 VF-25 went to the v2. It's a little funny though because prior to the release, most people were just asking for improved hips, shoulders and articulated hands at the minimum and they would've been happy with it. Bandai did at least that and more but I guess they just kept wanting more. Personally, I am perfectly happy with the Super VF-27. Bandai fulfilled my minimum requirements to purchase 2 copies of the updated mold even though I already had 2 of the original ones. The only thing I really would've wanted them to add to the Super VF-27 were a set of 3 Ghost drones as seen in the movie. I was willing to buy those even if it was a future add-on set. Alas, it is unlikely that they will be releasing that now.
  21. I would definitely buy a Battle Galaxy. I really prefer the mecha designs of the Macross Galaxy team over the SMS/NUN Spacy ones.
  22. Hmm.. I always thought SAL stood for Sea and Land. Meaning it shipped via boat, truck and/or train. Well now I know better hehe.
  23. I'm not too worried about missing AmiAmi. Just wanted to see how fast it goes out of stock. I am sure I can score one at NY sooner or later.
  24. LOL. I got to see the Add Cart button. But clicking on it just led me to an Error message saying it was no longer available.
