15 mins before my next meeting so can squeeze in some MW time: I remember also seeing a blue Gakken 1/55? (less than 12" standing up) Legioss where I saw one of the 1/8 Riders. It was loose and fairly white. The one thing I noticed was how saggy / hunkered down that looked in Battroid mode compared to all of the pictures of of CMs, Toynami's and Aoshima. It was chunky but to me, the Gakken 1/55 didn't stand the test of time. Similar when comparing from 1/55 Valks to the Yamato sculpt wise upon the 1/60s initial release.

Thanks for the "welcome backs" DND and Eriku! Guess it takes a fricking 300+ USD toy to bring the dead MW'ers back to life eh? So I got curious and went Mospeada toy hunting after work to see what the hubbub was about. Local HK street pricing is hovering between 220-250 for the Blue CMs Legioss/Tlead combo and saw the Green one for 312 USD. What a grip... so didn't bother to even touch the damn boxes. Just noticed its ~ 278 USD on HLJ... hmmm... maybe I should reconsider picking up that Blue CMs Legioss/Tlead combo. Also found Aoshima's Legioss' for ~ 50 USD a pop. No blue ones, just the red and green ones for some reason. Another local HK Macross fan here told me to pass on the Aoshima's due to QC issue so I did but may reconsider as I read/here more about it here in HK. Saw both Megahouse and CMs Stick/Leys here but will post in the other thread. Coincidentally found 2 Gakkan Ride Armors 1/8 in boxes and a loose beat up Gakkan Rider only for 13 bux? Funny how you see so much when you really look for it.

As an old GI Joe RAH fan who is considering collecting these again, the new sculpts looks great! Is there a list of the 25th Anniversary figures so we can compare and checkoff? Any sites that carry the line and is selling it in near complete sets? Opened but complete is fine for me since I want to display it, not invest in it.

Hi Jenius, GREAT website! Just finished your reviews in-between my meetings and it looks like there are no "best" versions out yet. Durability, detail and quality appears to be all there but their damn reversed exposed thrusters, skinny Legioss and stupid pricing kill it for me. Sigh... If CMs had only stay truer to the line art, they could have won my money. MPC / Aoshima Legionss is practically a wash. With some mods, these two would be virtually identical. I think the model kits may be the better option since its cheaper to mod. If you will work on a part 3, can you take a picture of all three and next to a 1/48 VF-1 for for a size and scale comparison? Will now read your review on the Ride Armor figures!

That just made my day! I think we can initiate support to BV to get the rest of the Macross series into Blu-ray now! Just need to work on that price to achieve greater sales! Here is an idea: Why don't we proactively OFFER the subs to BV Japan and USA so that the subs can be included into the Blu-ray or future dvd editions? I bet that would catalyse into more DVD sales and in turn more translated DVD for certain regions, which was what subbers have been trying to achieve all along: promote anime into markets that have no support!

Need a summary here as I don't want to read through 49 pages: Which Legioss is the most accurate looking according to the line art in terms of scale? Most detailed: CMs? Most durable: CMs? ... closest to Yamato 1/48 and NEW 1/60 in terms of quality, accuracy and durability? CMs, Aoshima or Toynami? I see both CMs and Aoshimas here but don't know which set to pickup! The Tread looks great but I'm an accuracy and scale nazi!

Amazon Japan is showing Macross Frontiers Episodes 1 and 2 Blu-ray available for preorder and was wondering if any of the other DVDs will be re-released in Blu-ray? I'm hesitant to pickup the 25th Anniversary DYRL and the M+ boxset if Blu-ray is on the way. Would be great to see the entire Macross Saga Box Sets on Blu-ray: Zero, Frontiers, SDF-1, DYRL, Plus and yes, even 2 and 7. Other than MGS4, this would be a main reason for me to breakdown and pickup a PS3 just to watch Macross again on native 1080p, instead of upscaling it from DVD. Anybody has any 720p or 1080p shots of M:F to see if Blu-ray makes a difference over DVD 480p?

I just saw clips of the Macross 7 TV Boxed Set remastered edition and compared to my M7 HK TV Box Set Edtion and the Central Anime subbed set, the remastered edition is way awesome in terms of quality! So fricken clean upscaled on my LCD TV! FYI M7 25th Remaster >> HK Box Set >> Central Anime in terms of quality. Subs wise, it is the exact opposite! If the 25th Aniversary SDF-1 set is as clean and upgraded as the M7 set, I might need to get it as a backup to my AnimEigo set and just rip the subs to work on my computer. If good subs exist for M7, I might also need to consider that remaster set as well! Can't shake Planetdance from my head now! Ikusei! It's Saturday Night, ..... Keith can chime in with the rest of the lyrics!

Anybody know if there will be a second or third batch of these? Seems Amazon and CDJapan is fully sold out and none of those local Amazon Japan affilitiates will ship outside of Japan!

Sorry to derailed the thread but a "2.0" VF-0S obviously will not happen this year now. There were 2 issues of the VF-0S 1.0, with the same quality and production process. The same thing happend with the first VF-1: 1st Issue VF-1S Roy Focker 1.0 1st Issue VF-1A Hikaru Iichijo 1.0 1st Issue VF-A Max (2.0 fixes) 1st Issue VF-1A Low Vis (2.0 fixes) 2nd Issue VF-1S Roy Focker with 2.0 fixes and so on.... Just let it cycle. If you guys can wait, the VF-0S 2.0 will be re-released EVENTUALLY with the fixes. I suggest you save up to "spring". You'll have a good reason to spend that tax return next year. Its going to be a GOOD Macross 2007 (I hope). Save up plenty. /sees Macross Riot Police... /runs away....

I have the G-System recast kit and it is absolutely beautiful. The kit is different from the original in that: 1) Some parts are merged for ease of re-casting. In some ways, ease of assembly too! 2) Decal sheet is not full for the one I have. I suspect future ones may get full sheets. Other than those two things, it is a beautiful kit with the following: a) all high quality white resin parts (none of that filler crap in there) b) white metal landing gear parts but not the wheels!!! Gr... c) detailed metal photoetch! d) decal sheet (albeit missing some from the original but enough for a strike) e) bound photocopied manual If you did not get a photoetch with your kit, you definately missed out on one of the most important component to have the "ultimate" VF-1S. I would ask for a partial refund for the lack of this! The decal sheet is not deal breaker. I would toss what you have and get a better decal sheet from Devin (Anasazi31) here.
