  3. well, before i begin i wanna say a special thanks to Gerwalker for his tips who made this possible... anyway i am so excited about this one that i wanted to post a few pic as soon as i could. enjoy alan.
  4. no probs promethuem5, i had to read it again myself to make sure i didn't make a mistake. i am currently working on my cannon fodder VF-0A i will be using this technique and i will post pics soon. thanks, alan.

  7. thanks gerwalker, i am gonna try that tonight, i think it makes more sense than some of the other technigues , i will let you know if it works thanks to all for the tips alan.
  8. quote: I think its gott to do with the fact that ur putting a glossy future coat on the model, and then putting future in teh oil wash so its bonding with itself putting future in the oil wash? i'm not sure what you are talking about but i never said that i mixed future in the oil wash?????? that would be silly!!!!!???? please read my steps again.
  9. so , 007 what would you suggest for the drying time? i am using enamels ?
  10. i'm using mineral siprit and artist oil. paint..where did you get that i was using the future in the wash????????
  11. yeah i kinda figured that already..... man i guess nobody really know then? some people say they don't wait at all some say wait a day...man what the hell???!!!! man what to do...what to do????? can anyone shed some light on this?
  12. ok, here is what i am doing exactly, I use enamel paints, then when dry i airbrush a coat of the future floor wax and when dry i mix a batch of the oil wash (with low odor) and apply, i wait 30-1 hour then try to wipe off the problem is it the base coat was stripped? what am i doing wrong? it seems like this is working for everyone eccept me
  13. sorry, it is mineral spirit and artist oil paint mixed together
  14. well, how does that work exactly? won't both those washes ruin the base coat ? how would you wipe away the exccess???
  15. ok, you have all seen my recent kits non-painted just the oil washes.. now that i have incorporated airbrush painting, i am having one hell of a time trying to do an oil wash after doing a clear coat. i have tried model master laqcure, testors clear coat, and now i am trying future floor wax as a clear coat which many on other websites swear by!..... so far what has happened with all these products is iether the base coats gets stripped away or the wash sticks to the clear coat and cannot be rubbed off. while many of you have given me the tips and techniques, (thanks) all of you leave out an essential step. how long do you let the clear coat cure before you apply the oil wash( kind of important and nobody ever clears that up? it seems the concensus is that you should wait 24-48 hours, is this true, beacuse i have been waiting at most an hour for the clear coat to dry and then after applying the oil wash i wait another hour....is this what i am doing wrong??? please a little help anyone.
  16. hello, feuyd , i see we are a Dune fan, anyway, i playe it and i was really dissapionted, the angles gave me a headache, it took a million shots to kill a single invid shock trooper, and the controls were well, they were poo to be honest. sorry, i give the game a -1
  17. hey Cheng, as always, any compliments from you is alwys welcome it is a shame that there are so few people building these days but i hope that these post will inspire people to give it a try, i am having a great time with these kits and i hope that others are having a good time with them as well. well i'm already starting on another and when i am done i will post the pics thanks again guys...
  18. hey U.N.N.GhostRider303 how've you been good to see your back in the forums, thankis for the compliments, well up next is a VF-0A with a Cannon Fodder scheme (Brownie) i will post pic really soon thanks
  19. thanks Gerwalker!!!! wow 26 years huh? man that is great !!!! i bet all of us can learn alot from your years of expirence!!! i have to agree with your philisohpy there... i mean if i was a proffesional biulder than i would see spending months and months on a single kit. but as this is my first year actually painting, oil washing, and clear coating kits, i think i am more than satisfied for the time being with the results. i really don't have the time to spend on these kits, with work and writing and re-writing my first novel, going to the gym and of course school, i consider it a somewhat guilty pleasure. honestly the most relaxing time i have to myself now is when i am building and when i am writing!!!! i just crank up some music and go to work non-stop until i am done. i'm sure that you guys can totally relate to that feeling when you are building and things are coming along great!!! still i have to give my hat off to some of you guys in this forum, trully talented!!! it is amazing some of the things that i see done in here!!! i hope that we all keep building and keep posting i always love to come to the forums and see that another people are showcasing there work by the way gerwalker, i'm sure we would all love to see some of your works pics please!!! alan.
