  1. To be honest, I've found Bandai white plastic to yellow much faster than Yamato white plastic.

I just pulled a v.1 Alto VF-25F out of a storage box in my closet where it's been stored away from sunlight. It was bright white when I packed it away several years ago, but now it's extremelly yellowed (I'll post pics later). By contrast my Yamato 1/48 VF-1A and VF-1S, stored in the same closet for even longer have only some very mild yellowing.

I've had similar issues with other white Bandai toys I stored for several years, especially some of the older Victory Gundam toys from the mid-90's.

    Graham

keep the toys away from a closet, i mean wooden closets, i had bad experience with vintage star wars toys, as Graham mentioned extreme yellowing can occur. i keep my valks in their boxes on a shelf and in the dark

  2. Hi, today was transforming my vf-1j into battloid mode but SURPRISE!! realized i couldn`t reach that mode. now i remember why i transformed this one only once since i bought it and then back to the box. in fact due to this problem had a very dificult time to go back to fighter mode.

so this time i better ask how to fix this before i try to transform it to battloid again, the problem is the bar that hold the legs together the hinge or joint there is stuck so this makes hard to insert the bar under the nose.

any idea on how to fix it?

  3. hi, a few days ago had the idea to put the vf-1a Cf an the stealth parts together. this is something i wanted to try long time ago but never had the time to do it and all my yamato stuff is always in their boxes to avoid dust and light, so since i got the stealth parts never saw this 2 pieces together. i dont know if someone uploaded images of this combination before but after seeing the result i decided to take some pictures and share them with all of you. i think that the stealth parts are amazing and nicer by far from the standard color. maybe for many of you this is old news, you know the stealth parts are 6 years old by now but since i bought this only a year ago is still something new for me and i think i will never get bored of them. why in the hell yamato made so few of this stealth parts?? why never a second run?? yamato re-release them i want more!!!!! 2 set is not enough for me hahaha. 1/48 rules!! 1/60 collectors dont hate me i also have many of that scale in my collection too(v2), its only something about the size of the 1/48. sorry for the pictures quality my camera is also 6 years old and a cheap one.

    gerwalk mode only for now.

  4. Thanks ValHary, how much do you want for the part?

Also, does anyone know how to disassemble the backpack on these VF-1 toys?

Hi MacrossJoe, my english is not so good to explain you how to disassemble the backpack but i can show you the parts involved in it. the images are from the assenbly kit version, one is the assenbly procedure the other is the parts list.

one thing to be careful with are the parts B10 and B11 which cover (hide) the screws these may be factory glued.

  5. Hi, my first 3 sets of 1/48 super&strike parts, the stealth ones look great on roy`s valk. finally 3 of my 5 1/48 valks have fast packs. these sets are brand new, I already put the misiles on 2 of them. I will keep one without them.

I am really amazed by the size of these accesories, had it already on 1/60 v2 but in this scale is awesome.

  6. So, is it confirmed that this is a kit? Or do they also come pre-assembled?

Anyone aware of 1/60 Minmay Guard decals? That's what I want to do one up as!

Last time that Yamato released a no painting version both were available but with different boxes. only the VF-1S was available, and without the accesories no side covers etc.

  7. Hi, yes I agree with Exo is better to have a grey color for painting than bright white or off-white for real world schemes. thats why I have decided not to paint my unassembled kit. here is another pic I took that can show better that bright white next to tthe off-white color.

  8. Hi, for those who are confused by the color betwen the dyrl and tv white here is a picture of my unassembled kit next to a dyrl 1S notice that both are white and the dyrl is not grey I would consider the VF-x as grey. I think the right name for the dyrl color is off-white. this vf-1S is the same color of the ones in the pictures posted by bowman.

  9. This was my second attempt to grab one...first Michael version was lost in the mail and I lost my money on it...but thats in the past...took me a while to get it from battroid to gerwalk, but its the best mode to be in for display imo...at least people in the office wont be like "is that a Transformer?" <_<

Thinking about getting the Quarter next... :D

Hi there, even if its not the best keep it is your first valk at least in the pictures looks great, in my opinion and i think many will hate me about saying this but for me that toy line looks like having better proportions than the bandai 1/60 and the prove is that bandai had to modify its 1/60 to make it look better with a second version while this little model is perfect. I dont know about the quality of the plastic used and all that because I dont have one but for a long time I have been searching for one of this just because of the right proportions and cheap price. as a designer with experience in the matter the goal in this product was to make a good replica in such a smal size instead of perfect tranformation because the size would not give the requirements for such thing so they focused on giving good impresion of replica in each mode (fighter, gerwalk and batroid).

I dont mind changing parts for transformation that one is more like a lego unassemble it and modify it if you want perfect tranformation there are other product in the market for such porpouse.

look at to other models in 1/100 scale they transform but they are far from a good replica so it was not a bad idea what bandai came up with this valks, even the packaging was very nice in every version.

so my advise is keep it that ozma looks great to me at least compared to the original pictures is better replica than the 1/60 at least until the second version comes out in october.

  10. Question for all you awesome dudes. I just got a v2 Super Ostrich. I think the canopy is misaligned. It looks slightly crooked when I look straight down on it, and it won't really close all the way. Is the little piece on top that holds the canopy hinge glued on? Because I think that piece has to be realigned. Is there a solution for this problem?

Hi danth, the answer is yes that peice that holds the canopy is glued, here i show 2 images of the unassembled kit one showing the piece itself that keeps the canopy in place and an image of the assembly manual where it says in japanise (maybe someone from japan can translate that for us) to glue it, at least is what i realized when assembling the valk because that note is in every place where no screw is present. in my opinion is the same way the vt1 is holding the canopy even if the nose section is a diferent design.

hope this can help you with that if you try to remove it do it gently you dont want to damage the expensive vt1, in my vt1 that piece is perfectly aligned making it hard to remove.
