floppy as hell, but it looks the most stunning!!

    #2 VF-25F Super Messiah

chunky, expensive and dated, but i still love it becoz it's Alto's ride :D

    #3 VF-1S Roy Focker

    The real deal...

    #4 YF-21

Insanely fiddly to transform, but one of the best fighter modes ever!

    #5 YF-19

Floppy again, fast packs that don't fit well.. but super stunning as a display!

  2. Yes, I am, but I'm still psyching myself up to transform my Armored Ozma from Battroid to Fighter mode. That's always a traumatic and highly challenging experience. Last time, I tried, I nearly threw the damn thing against the wall in frustratution, due to all the armored parts that kept on popping off during transformation!

Does not enjoy the "it's all right as long as you don't touch it" toy experience".

    Graham

i know what u mean! That's the same problem that preventing me from picking up the Armored Alto to pose with VF-27 *sigh*

  3. @ logos: A 1/60 would be humongous. :D

    @ jediwalker: Nice Shooting.

@ Yeah. It's quite a disappointment that it isn't scaled with anything else. It only looks to scale with the RDs. But it still a nice clunky toy. Love playing with mine still.

I still hate the fact the destroid mode can't be posed walking.

    thanks...

    here's Destroid mode..

i cant get it to "walk" as well... maybe can only simulate it by bending the knees backwards...?

  4. Thanks Chris, Graham...

I put one drop of superglue yesterday and this morning i checked, it looks solid enough. i think the real test is when transforming it! The head seems to be in a rather tight-fitting position. the chin seems like it would hit the body when turning it from side to side. scary!

  5. Yeah, I have the same problem with my 19S with the angle of the legs in fighter mode and the should pad issue. My bigger problem is I broke off the center head lazer already. I super glued it back on but it easily breaks off again due to it always getting hit by the plastic lip of the upper "spine" when the torso is transformed.

    Chris

i just got my VF-19S... and i broke the centre head laser as well :( i was just pushing it a little to see if it was moveable and.. *SNAP* it broke. what the hell, it was soft like a piece of candy! why couldn't they make it removable like the Fire valkyrie. sigh, anyone else had this problem besides Chris and myself?

  6. That sucks, man.

I had just decided to transform mine to battroid and display it in that mode the other day to relieve the stress from the wing hinges. After seeing that pic, I had to examine the hinges on mine to see if they were okay. Fortunately they were fine despite transforming it with the armor on... well as much of it on as I could keep from falling off.

Amazingly, the arm and leg hinges were still very tight unlike my VF-25G which loosened to completely floppy status from doing nothing but standing there in the display since I got it.

yeah, it sucks.. my vf-25g is having the same problem as yours.. floppy and the ankles dont seem to be able to hold well in standing position!

  7. I'm not sure if I regret getting my DX Alto and Michael or not.. Bandai just got really sloppy with them. And actually, I'm half expecting that blue tinted Alto to turn into a collectors item due to the lukewarm reception it got. I don't know how sales went in Japan, but I don't think that one's ever been sold out when I looked.

unless it appeared in the movie, it's hard to see it being a sought after item.. i mean, it just seemed to me that bandai originally intended to release the VF-25F super (white) but then thought that it might eat into the sales of the tornado messiah, so they gave it a blue tint to differentiate these two. i hope i'm wrong but everytime i look at the two sitting side by side, i just get the feeling the money spent on blue alto, should've been elsewhere :(

  8. Not so much remorse as an unintended buy.

I used to shop for Macross figs at my local brick and mortar hobby shop, and being a latecomer to Macross collecting, Yamato's 1/60 YF-21 was long since sold out by the time I decided to buy one. I settled for the Gamlin VF-22S Sturmvogel II, instead. A few months pass, and I saw the -21 on clearance sale at HLJ. Took my first leap into the digital age and bought it online.

Ironically, I've grown to like my Gamlin VF-22S even more than the -21.

i only hv the YF-21, but i still think gamlin's vf-22s is way cooler with the black scheme and headsculpt!

  9. Looks like a wide spread problem .. on mine, a piece of the hinge came off, so much harder to fix. It can still make battroid, but to be safe, i'd put something to support those heavy wings instead of letting the hinge take all the stress. probably a locking mechanism would've better distributed the weight than just leaving it hanging there.

  10. my regret is buying the 1/60 VF-25F Super Alto Movie Edition... when I saw the Tornado messiah released, I knew I should've waited! Alto's valk is white, not white-blue-tinge!! Crap...I got the Tornado Messiah anyways :p

  11. Bummer. Can I steal your pic and use it on anymoon.com whenever I have the chance to update that post?

sure, np... i tried to super glue the damage part, but it just reopens when tranforming because thats such a critical part of the transformation :( oh well, its gonna be stuck in fighter mode from now on...

  12. Pretty much. Good thing I found out about the "SWS" defect on the Tornado Messiah before I bought one.

BTW, will the Tornado pack be offered in different colors other than the one for the 25F?

glad i havent bought the tornado messiah then... there's still plenty of them around. i guess not many ppl were enticed to buy yet another VF-25F, even though with the correct color scheme :p

there was one pic where they fitted the tornado pack on michael's valk. doesnt look half as bad.. but yeah.... will there be other colors to it, or was alto the only one who got to use one in the movie?

  13. believe me, I did give the series a chance...and still the only thing positive for me are the mechas, heh....can't wait for teaser pics of vf-19 and vf-17!

owh, btw, this is just my personal opinion...not intended to offend Mac7 fans out there....

no worries.. everyone's entitled to their own opinions :)

i so need a VF-17 to fly along with basara :D

  14. That's what I thought when I first watched a few episodes 5 years ago, but now that I've started watching it in earnest, it's actually quite fun if you're a fan of Gamlin.

I'll still wait for a blazer or a repaint though, since I dislike gaudy coloured valks (also a reason why I collect CFs).

I hated mac 7 the first time i watched it. but it being part of macross, i decided to give it another chance. boy, i'm so glad i did! before i knew it, I was cheering on Basara everytime he went out singing! When u reach the last 5 or 6 episode, the whole series goes into a climax of epic proportions! Call it a silly series for kids with goofy bad guys, but basara's belief in the power of music won me over and i even listen to his songs now. not everyone's cup of tea i know, but give it a chance and maybe u'll be surprised :)
