  1. I just finished building the White Glint with Booster movie version.

What a wonderfull Kit. The Stand is really nice. It has that Bandai HD paint job and the only from what I have that has decals. Now to find the gray panel line marker.

I also finished the Rayleonard Kapachar version. Nice kit but you need a lot of glue.

Normally it now takes me between 3 to 4 hours to build a MG Bandai Gundam kit these take much longer.

Pieces that really should be separate parts are and are so small you need a good pair of reverse pressure tweezers and a lot of patience for example the White Glint took me 4 days. Not total time but about 3 hours a day because after building the core or other parts your pretty exhausted. The Kapachar kit took longer cause I found out that pieces needed to be glued in order to stay together.

Overall these are beautiful Mechs. I would place these as a close second to the FSS mecha in terms of esthetics.

    I just recieved the

    Unsung

Crest Delta, Dual face and mirage version

Still waiting for my Nineball and after the second time I guess I need to escalate to a claim on cmb-tradeltd since i have never gotten this after a month. Its getting harder and harder to trust ebay sellers.

Hopefully I get the crest facinator i ordered soon.

    Pics to come.

  2. Just seriously got into Kotobukiya AC kits

Really cool mecha designs with a different approach than Bandai's MGs.

I think too many unnecessary small pieces and paint apps that could be better but building them is a challenge

  3. Just watched it, and wow is it marketed wrong. Not a horror movie at all, not even a suspense movie. More of a "what if" type with some very serious ethics questions in the mix.

Sure, you make a new lifeform. Now you have no idea how it will behave or even a clue to its basic life cycle.

I think the only creature with a stranger life cycle would be the Xenomorph from Aliens, but even that one is based on the aquatic hydroids of earth.

apologies for being obtuse but the movie sucked

oh definitely getting the canadian feel from this

  4. Updated the list. Yeah, letting go of that Devastator was hard, but I've honestly just been getting burned out on STUFF lately. Just seems like I've spent too much time acquiring "unique" and "rare" things that just end up going on a shelf and staying there. There's certainly a thrill of having something unique and collectible, but at the end of the day if all I do is casually glance at it on a shelf, and don't really appreciate or enjoy it, what's the point, you know? So yeah, getting rid of some of this stuff wasn't easy, but the PROCESS of getting rid of it has done wonders for my mental state. And if some people got some good deals on some things that they WILL appreciate, all the better.

So why not sell more of your stuff. Most if not all stuff stays on the shelf.

  5. I started crying at work when I saw this thing and then someone came to my cubicle and said hey man why you crying and I showed him why I was crying and he started crying and then someone else came to my desk and asked why you guys crying now the whole godam TELCO LAN group is crying

    Thanks a lot

    BTW awesome kit

  6. I just watched the first episode of Gundam Unicorn (which surprisingly has a very good English dub) and I want to get started with an RX-0 Unicorn kit. Normally, I'd get the HG kit, but I'm convinced that I should go MG. Is the HD version with MS Cage worth it compared to the regular and ver. Ka. kits?

NOT WORTH SPIT or all the OIL 5000 feet below the sea!!!!!

The so called improvements are minimal minor and really piss poor. The HD color is nice, and the cage is a bonus for other MGs worthy of such an expansion pack. Otherwise reading and watching the reviews wait for the sale to happen on GFFMC Unicorn or wait for a 2.0. I had the original release which i threw in the fireplace. Snap crackle pop

this release is no better. Hoping for a MG Kyshatria to go with my MG 0

My recent gundam purchases include (all MGs)

RX-78-2 V2.0 SPECIAL COATING get this if you havent

WING CUSTOM WING PEARL COATING get this one too

    IMPULSE GUNDAM COATING VERSION

GUNDAM EX MOBILE SHIP ALBION LIMITED ED

Seed Destiny Strike Gundam + I.W.S.P.

Seed Launcher & Sword Strike Gundam

Pod Ball ver.ka w clear parts

STRIKE FREEDOM GUNDAM EXTRA FINISH VER.

    RX78-2 GUNDAM MECHANICAL CLEAR VERSION

  7. I'd love to find the person that designed the 00-Raiser PG, and ask him just what the frak he was smoking when he decided that pressure-clutches in the joints would be a good idea!

    ARGH!!!!

i think i and others have been saying that all along. why did you get it an mg is on the way

  8. Regrets

Yamato All new 1/60 Macross Plus. My 1/72 have stood the test of time and are great and the monster is another regret

No Regrets for the 1/48, the ingram, the motorcycle i forgot its name but related to macross and the Votoms and v1 1/60 although it has some discoloration

  9. I'm overall happy with the story but I think the alt. universe/purgatory was totally unnecessary. I would have been fine with Jack dying; Kate, Sawyer,Claire (and others) getting off, etc. The other place just coddles the audience. I'm just going to wish it off.... wish it off...

i really liked the ending and it was an easy way of explaining off the crazy things. I cant believe how many people got it right that it was purgatory but dont know why they the writers had to spend so much time on non real imaginary characters in purgatory ie jacob and mib if it was pointless that they were imagined characters. Something that Jacks father mentioned that not all of them died some would die later. ???? SO if Ben was not part of the original crew and therefore imaginary then why was he at the funeral???

    Some things still are confusing

  10. Yeah, but I think that is just our eyes playing tricks on us because the liger looks big in comparison to the people behind it.

The Paradox effect I think is what they call it.

zoids that kotobukita or yammy must do but then i will have no room

  11. Check this out guys:

    http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2010/05/12000-macross-sdf-1-others-from.html

scroll down the page and you will yamato's new shield liger. I can't really tell if

it is a model kit or a toy, but it looks good all the same. I really love the proportions

    of the liger itself.

    Looks really promising.

    -Archer

    That Yammy Liger looks amazing

Im 90% sure thats not a kit. Yamato is not know for kits and I think they cant top Kotobukiya on detail and design

  12. I'm not going to say that spoiler never gets in the way, but it's actually the rear seat headrests that give me the most grief. I'm the kind of guy who doesn't just check his mirrors; I gotta take a quick peak over my shoulder before I change lanes. If I'm moving left to right, that puts the back seat on the passenger side's headrest in exactly the spot I'm looking.

    Luckily, they can be removed.

Nice car. I like the body design

However my response to earlier comments. In Canada. Cars are 20-30% more than the US??? Even tho some of them are made here.!!!! Although I love the Genesis Coupe. Its not practical for the family. I am waiting for 0% financing on a Vera Cruz but I know I will never see the dealer offer 0% on the vera Cruz. They are only offering it on the Sonata and the regular fugly Elantra

  13. Well, I just recieved my 00-Raiser kit, today, and to be completely honest, I'm a bit overwhelmed. It looks like it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun to build!

For those folks who've done this kit, I have a question: In the head unit, do the eyes glow, as well as the red crown-piece?

    Thanks.

that depends. The stupid sticker obstructs the light from really making the Eyes light up and it barely lights up the Red Tab. The use of the reflective foil inside of the head completely looses its purpose if you have to put stickers on the eyes. Also I think a lot of the focal light is lost due the gaps of the back of the head. Also Annoying that you have to take the rear Back head plate on and off to get to the switch. I cant remember if you need to take the power source out to. Overall WEAK! I will say this again THE WORST PG made. A good 1/60 HG/MG

On a side note. I have been back and forth about my choice of next PG. The only ones im missing are the Eva 01 and red frame. Although I want both I want to Pace myself as I have 7 MGs on the way and I still need to catch up on detailing already completed ones. I have bite the bullet and decided to go with the Eva 01 special Coating

Just a few images to show you what I mean

  14. While there is some visual similarity between certain Zeon suits and Soviet rockets (i.e. excessive rocket motor fetish), in terms of Design and engineering mentality, Zeon is much more akin to Nazi Germany (which make sense, considering how hard they try to hammer home the "Zeon = Space Nazi's" message in ever other aspect of their depiction).

Russian engineering philosophy tends to be quick and crude but it get's the job done. Zeon Mobile Suits on the other hand tended to be really over-engineered, where they've got the most armor, weapons, speed, etc. but end up being either one off prototypes or not deployed in large enough numbers to make a difference; much like German weapons in WWII.

Also much like the Germans, Zeon ended up shooting themselves in the foot by wasting all their resources trying to develop all these one-off magic bullet Mobile armors instead of making a good enough robot and fielding as many of those as possible.

Comparing Zeon suits to Federation suit's it's very much like comparing German tigers to American Sherman tanks in WWII. The top of the line Zeon suits like the Gelgoog totally outclassed the GM's in very single way but it didn't really matter because the federation could keep throwing cheap, disposable GM's at them until they overwhelmed the Zeon.

the Federation were working under the mindset of "we can build it cheap, we can build it fast, and it's good enough to get the job done." while Zeon when the direction of "If we build the Best robot possible, it will be so bad ass that it will always win."

As for the Nightingale specifically, I think the design actually makes a fair amount of sense as far as Giant robots go and fit's in well with the zeon tradition of mecha design.

The Nightingale is specifically designed for space combat, so it doesn't need to use it's arms and legs very much and it doesn't have to worry about weight since it's not under gravity. instead they give it has huge numbers of thrusters and verniers so that it can move and maneuver very fast while blowing stuff up with it's huge arsenal of weapons.

    :EDIT:

but I think what's REALLY important is that I finally had time to apply all my the decals and finish my Sinanju kit. God I hate doing dry transfers, especially this many of them.

Seriously, I think hell is having to sit at a table and endlessly apply dry transfer decals to model a model kit for all eternity, just applying and applying and never making any progress.

I'm gonna take pictures later once the suns up.

    Zieg Zeon!

There are a lot of references in aesthetics to Nazi Germans isnt there, uniforms, the salute, MS, and the storm trooper fodder mentality as well. I would much more acccept your reasoning above for the Quel than the NG.

As for the Bandai releasing the list of Gundams on their Schedule. I wish this one was on their list

  15. What part of Gundam isn't all about excess and ridiculousness? I take it you don't care for designs like the Dendrobium or Hummingbird either, or any of the Titans Test Team prototypes for instance.

Strong Nightingale DNA can even be seen in the NZ-666 Kshatriya, as well.

I dont want a flame war. But the hummingbird or Zeta Bst is a beautiful design. Why? Its made for long distance recon and strike missions. It can abandon its armor and become a regular very mobile Zeta. It can actually still be agile with all that armor. Movements are not restricted by the armor. The Kshatriya same story there. The Nightingale just doesnt seem to be all that agile. How can it move its arms or legs without hitting its own armor. Its cumbersome and all that body weight makes no sense. On the Kshatriya the large veneers can rotate in multiple directions act as thrusters, shields, They have small maneuver arms that manipulate weapons, and because they provide an obstructed access to weapons but on the nightingale it seems overdone. For Example Why does it need a 30 foot head horn?? But anyway I just dont like it for the reasons I pointed out.
