Duke, it's a shame you already have a custom title because "MW"s Official Tattletale" would be perfect for you.
Well, that's still better than "marked for death by the mod-squad" or the Counterstrike title for snipers "camping fag".

1/48 scale, regardless of what everyone says about size and about cost. I know that it would be big, but I honestly don't care. I don't mind dishing out a lot of money for something big, detailed and cool, and also being in the same scale as my nice VF-1 Low Vis.

-
Okay, I've been wondering for a while. Why do people sometimes refer to Kawamori as the "hoary froating head"? I don't suppose he pulled that terrible "Elrond trick"...

edit: Thanks Ewilen

You might want to check this section of Macross World:
The "Where to Buy Section"
http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?act=SF&f=13
Or at least post there.

I'm just happy that if I decide to get a VF-0 the shipping will be cheaper because of the lack of die-cast
That's not even mentioning the lack of all the problems of metal: scratched paint, wear on plastic, different balance, etc. <_< You want MW Porn, here you go!!!

edit: The Low Vis in all it's glory! Uncensored version in the Toy review section of Macross World!

That would be great but I would still love something post-Macross 7. Question and I really don't want to get into a serious debate but if they were to reanimate the original series, everything coming off the lineart, would it be possible for them to release if over here in the US in both subtitled and english?
The difference in animation along with the original names, music, and whatever new tweaks would clearly set it apart from the older version of the series and no one would be confused.
I'd bet old HG would raise a big-ass stink if they did that and a US company tried to release it in the States, regardless if they had a real court case or not.

I think a re-make COULD be cool. It all depends on how they do it. Hell, if they re-made and updated it with the stuff Kawamori wanted to do with the old series but ran out of time/money, I'd watch it.
Heh, they could put one of the buildings being destroyed as HG as a little wink at our "friends".

as long as the details are nice and I don't have to worry about dropping legs into the toilet.

Now why would you have to worry about dropping legs into the toilet?

I saw part of the show from old tapes from the old US release on video. It had an interesting premises, but I didn't get far in the series because the video rental place had only three or four, and the company that had been releasing it had already gone under...

I liked Orguss 02, I prefer it over the original series (although I hadn't seen enough of Orguss).
Sorry but give me Macross mecha anyday, although the Orguss mecha aren't that bad.
Jeez, imagine if Focker's personality got switched with Manning from Orguss 02...

-
Well, I'll wait and see how it turns out before beginning any real bitching on it.
I'm just dissapointed at the small-ness of it.
Yamato's learned a lot since their Macross Plus valkyries, and since working on the 1/60 and 1/48 line.So I'm gonna be expecting some damned good quality on this thing!

CF18 my fiancée confirmed your translation more or less (she's a translator among many things)
"Since VF-0S is big, it is the same size as a 1:72 VF-1."
Since there is no 1/72 VF-1 yet, maybe this means we're in for another surprise?

I can just hear the groans from everyone who's sick of the VF-1 line and wants fresh blood!

Uxi, I hope they make the VF-0 in your 1/60 scale, and then in my 1/48 scale, that way we can all be happy... unless we collect everything in every scale, in which case your wallet has my sympathy.

Macross Plus question.... I have watched and re-watched my Episode 1... I don't recognise the enemy mecha Isamu is fighting at the start of the episode. Is it Zentran, Meltron, some other enemy?
Okay, I haven't been able to find the answer in the compendium and am just going on memories, so please someone confirm whether I am correct or wrong.
If memory serves me correctly, the enemy mecha are Zentraedi. Not Meltran since that is in DYRL (movie taking place in the Macross Universe) or in Macross II which is considered "another universe". They are renegade Zentraedi in power armor like an upgraded Nousjadeul-Ger (http://macross.anime.net/mecha/zentradi/aerospace_craft/nousjadeul_ger/index.html).
I know that there is a more complicated background story to it, but I can't quite remember. You may want to check out the Macross timeline on the compendium, you might find some answers there. I'm just too damned lazy to sift through it myself...

Wow. Awesome scoop. Thanks for the pics. It's always hard to judge a toy from its prototype. I'm not sure how I feel about the scale on the VF-0...I need to see it next to a 1/60 and/or 1/48 VF-1. I didn't think the VF-0 was THAT much bigger than a VF-1 so I'm kinda suprised they didn't stick with the 1/60 or 1/48 scales..Oh well, we'll know soon enough I suppose.
The VF-0 is 18.69m long in fighter mode, the YF-19 is 18.62m long in fighter mode, and the VF-1 is 14.23m long in fighter mode. (according to Macross Compendium http://macross.anime.net/mecha/index.html )
So if the VF-0 was put in 1/72 scale it would be about the size of the YF-19 that has already been released.
.......... 1/100 scale......

Give me a 1/48 scale!!!!! (yes, big and detailed, and bigger isn't necesarily better, but DAMNIT I want my valks in the same damn scale!!!!!!
) -
Maybe my son should go work for Yamato as a toy tester. He could even get his own sticker or label: "Approved by "D" - 10 story drop certified"
(BTW "D" is for Daisuke - my loving child's name
)Your son shall from henceforth be known as "Valkyrie Hunter D"!

Was rewatching episode 22, and I realise what I thought were 2 landing lights in front of the VF-1's nose was firing lasers. Are these really weapons or again, animation mistakes? Macross Compendium doesn't say anything of such a weapon.....is Macross Compendium supposed to be canon?
It's an animation mistake. HG counts it as an existing weapong system on the "veritech" in Robotech. Then again these are the same clowns that created the YF-1R from an animation mistake. "Stealth" fighter my ass... <_<
edit: Oh yeah, Macross Compendium is probably as official as you'll get, confirm it with some other members though.

I think Colonel Mustard did it in the living room with the candlestick
Ewwwwwwwww, he "did it" with the candlestick?!

Joons VF-1J was my first, and it's undergone many minor repairs, but is still in good working condition. The only thing is that it's sitting in its box in my old room back at my parents place.
Damn the chunky monkeys are durable, that thing has gone through sooooo many crash landings...

-
I got introduced to Macross through Robotech just before Macross Plus came out. I had to read the book version of the Robotech series in order to find out what happened, since the local rental place onlyhad a few tapes of the Macross part of Robotech, and the stores had stopped selling Robotech tapes.
I'm happy I found Macross, but it didn't take Robotech to introduce me. I would have wound up watching Macross Plus anyway, since it took me a while to realize that Macross Plus and the first third of "robotech" was related.
I hate butchered anime, and that's what Robotech is to me. I really hate HG, especially since their interference with the Macross Plus toys.
In the end, I believe that this (along with Duke Togo) summarizes my opinion:
-
No more HG, no more ADV, no more Saban, no more Disney, no more Nintendo.
Or sit around depressed as the local government takes away my nice shiny squadron of Zentraedi power suits, since I'm a micro-human, and not Zentraedi sized, so thus wouldn't be able to make much use of them.

If you can control zentraedi pilots who use the suits, then let's just say I could become filthy rich supplying pictures of Miria and other Zentraedi women to the many fans of Macross World...

Could be cool also to make a human-scaled working version of the Q-rau by taking apart a full size one and replicating it on a smaller scale (if possible).

edit: forgot to add "have a bad day VF-19pilot?

I´m still intrigued by the fact that right from the start of Macross Zero´s pre-production the production team revealed that the events of M0 would not be disclosed until 50 years later in the macros timeline, such revelation doesn´t play any relevant role in the development of M0 itself (unless it was just a curiosity of the story ) so why would they reveal such a thing ? I would´t want to speculate but maybe this is all a connection to the next series , meaning that M0 is not really a direct prologue to SDF Macross but rather to the next Macross project , which by all means could very well develop not only during one period but maybe featuring various consecutive events from 2009 to 2031 or even beyond 2051 (something in those lines) that led to such revelation 50 years later.
This could very well give Kawamori the chance to tell his own story as he wants it (there´s nothing written in stone for that space in the timeline , just loose references ) as well as satisfing those that want the more obscure valks to make a debut ( OH GOD PLEASE GIVE US SOME VF-5000s and VF/A-14s !!!) and also reveal the events that lead to M0 secrets revelation in the way

They better not go the way the Dune books went, and bring Roy back to life through cloning of his cells taken from his body that has been preserved since his death... And of course he would have all his memories and be able to help solve some unresolved problem/question left unanswered since Macross Zero.
So 50 years after the events of Macross Zero, Roy Fokker comes back for some new adventures, probably helping out some new young hot-shot pilot.

If by some chance this is what happens, you can please stone me to death!

I myself wouldn't mind seeing something with VF-4s, VF-3000s, and VF-5000s. Could be cool to see some other "older" valkyries, like prototypes that didn't make it into production or only saw limited production.
edit:
Don't forget the part were he starts giving birth to Aliens...Blerg, I forgot until you mentioned it!

Also "a-hole World", apparently.

Welcome to "a-hole World"! Here, have a door knob!

edit:
Just checked out the YF-1R review...

Then a review for a 1/60 Yamato CF.
http://www.blueforgegames.com/ProductDescr...iption_VF1A.php
This is a Macross Valk he's reviewing. WTF is this description about nose-cone lasers on veritechs when in the rest of the thing they write "valkyrie"?

-
I can't believe that someone is putting one of those up for auction.Just on principle alone, if someone puts a serious bid on that I will have to stab them to death with my chin!

-
I was on Yahoo Japan when I came across this thing!
I've seen bootlegs of M7 valks before, but I've never seen a bootleg with a completely new color scheme like this before! What would you guys nickname this thing?

The Crusader Valkyrie? Paladin Valkyrie?
(if the link doesn't work I could post the pics I saved from the auction)
-
Yeah, it's one of those suspend your beliefs kind of thing. I mean, a bokken is as lethal a weapon as a katana (it may not be able to cut, but some people used them instead of katanas), a sakabatou would be just as lethal if not more so. Get a good hit in the head, a hit in the neck, cause some internal organ damage, you get the picture.
If anyone is familiar with the Miyamoto Musashi story, in one of his duels he chose to use a bokken rather than a katana. It wasn't so that he wouldn't kill his opponent, it was for longer reach (he carved one out of an oar) while retaining the ability to kill.
RK is one of my favorite series, but someone seriously needs to kick his ass. Saito could/would, Watsuki even said so at AX, with the only exception being if Kenshin were fighting to protect someone. Otherwise if it became duel time...

Okay just in case: SPOILER
(for those who haven't watched Episode 3 yet)
Did anyone notice when Nora was trying to take down Shin and Deadgar, that when he started trying to shoot her down with his lasers, he got in like three or four hits that did absolutely NOTHING?

I checked out that scene frame by frame, and damn, it looks like the lasers hit and just dispersed over the surface of the SV-51.

Is this an effect from that armor thingy that seems to be incorporated into the variable fighters?

Those are some damned good ideas!
The swingbars could be attached to that T-bar likeon the 1/48 VF-1, and be more or less decorative rather than functional. The swingbars wouldn't have the same risk of breakage as if the legs relied solely on the swingbar alone.
I love that change the nose-cone idea.
Only time will tell to see if they do release bigger VF-0 valks. And a 1/48 VF-11, AHEM Yamato, hint-hint, wink-wink, knudge-knudge, ya know what I mean?
edit: YF-21 and YF-19 in 1/48 scale please!
