  1. Ozma survived a pineapple dish and got to eat it, Roy didn't.

Hikaru and Alto both totalled plenty of their valks. Alto never got injured to the point that he had to be hospitalized, and Alto was fighting against a tougher enemy.

Max and Michel are both badass but completely different kinds of pilots. I wonder who would come out the victor at different ranges... At close range Max would win hands down, simply because it's Max. But at long range, I think Michel has the edge even against Max.

Lucca is nothing without his Ghost support squadron, Kakizaki may have been a big dumb oaf, but he could at least fire his gunpod. :p

If you toss Miria in as part of Skull and Klan Klan as part of Skull, I wonder how they'd have it out. Klan Klan has the advantage of the additional shoulder cannon on the Q-rea.

And if it were Skull vs Skull, would it be Original Skull in old-school VF-1 valkyries? The upgraded VF-1X valkyries? Or in VF-25s as well? Would New Skull be going in just the plain VF-25s, or would they be going in with Super and Armor packs? Would they get reaction warheads and MDEs? Would Old Skull get Super or Strike packs? Reaction warheads?

If it were Old Skull with the valkyries and weapons of their time vs New Skull with the valkyries and weapons of their time, New Skull would win due to the more powerful and higher performing valkyries.

  2. I voted Macross Frontier for various reasons. Overall it had fantastic animation quality for the most part (handful of horribly animated scenes and some cheaply animated filler-ish episodes). Great cast of characters that we haven't seen the likes of since the original series, as opposed to just a small handful of characters. Furthered the story without making a number of old school Macross fans vomit, like Macross 7 did. The awesomeness of Macross Plus and Zero in a tv series.

Great mecha design and action scenes.

This series had people more worked up over each episode than the entire of Macross Zero (see WTF-1 as a good example).

Fantastic music that had a bit of everything from the history of Macross (exception of Plus and Zero).

It's a great successor to the original series. For now it's what I consider to be the best animated Macross production.

    Macross Frontier

    Macross DYRL

    Macross Plus

    Macross Zero

    SDF Macross

    Macross 7

-Macross II can stay alone in its little corner, the little bastard child about a war reporter.

  3. To be honest I'd be more interested in the Macross Plus standard issue pilot helmet, like what Isamu and the cannon fodders were wearing. I couldn't care less for the YF-21 flight helmet, but the helmet that Isamu wears, I really like that design.

I'm also liking the SMS flight helmets, not as much as the Macross Plus helmet, but I like them a lot.

  4. If they go the DYRL route, it'll be a retelling as a movie in the Macross universe.

I'm hoping for a continuing story. We never saw the Galaxy city section get destroyed, and we don't know how much of Galaxy's fleet was actually destroyed at the Vajra planet. Who were the rest of Galaxy anonymous? Bilrer was hoping to see Minmay, so what was he hoping for? Was it to see some idols singing the fleet to victory like Minmay, or was he expecting something else via the fold quartz, like being able to communicate to another galaxy where the Megaroad may have been transported to?

The love triangle isn't exactly solved, although I feel that Alto sees Ranka as like a little sister to mentor and protect, while he sees Sheryl as the love interest. I'm not saying that's the way it is, but that's how it looks to me. If it doesn't get solved without a doubt, I can still live with it the way it's ended.

Will we see new mecha? VF-24? Some VF-19s? Another fleet? Any cameos from previous Macross series? How about more links to solve what happened to Sara and Shin from Macross Zero? Did Mao and Ranshe die when the 177th Research Fleet get destroyed, or are they on the Galaxy fleet now?

  5. But Finally, I was wrong that Leon didn't get shot, gutted, sucked-up in space and gets blown-up by Quarter's Cannons.

I wish you were right on that one... I wonder what the penalty is for assassinating the UN president... Especially when you think about how Isamu was warning Yang that they could be executed for stealing the YF-19.

  6. I wonder how quality will be on it. The early run of toys of the Saint Cloth Myths had horrible quality control, so you had to be careful and inspect the toy through the split case window box, to make sure that there weren't any visible problems. From there you had to cross your fingers and hope that the armor would fit and didn't have any issues (and at first Bandai didn't have high QC standards on those toys).

If Macross Frontier merchandise is successful, they may come back and redo the VF-25 to look good. Much like when they made later versions of certain characters armor from Saint Seiya, they updated how the figures looked to make them look more like the particular characters.

  7. What valkyrie addict said. The first turn is very tight and feels like its stuck. At first I started to panic before I realized that you had to turn in a particular direction with a lot of force. After that it loosens up. They're also very tightly placed in the wheel well, and at first the landing bay doors are pretty tightly set in place.

  8. I was right that the Global was NOT the SDF Macross....FTW :lol:

Add me to this, so now it's

"we were right that the Global was NOT the SDF Macross" :) And people called zinjo crazy, said he was off the deepend, and that there were invisible dragons behind him that he'd never see. He argued it more vocally, so he got more flak. We were right.

  9. My main concern at this point is the legs in fighter mode---why are they way below the level of the wings and shield as seen from above? There's not merely a "gap", they seem to be half as high up as they should be. They should be well ABOVE the shield in fighter mode, just like a VF-19's legs/shoulders are. That ruins the look of fighter mode than any proportion issue IMHO. At this point I can't believe that the toy's been mis-transformed that much EVERY time. They're not even close to being in the right position. But I mean--why even have the large cut-outs around the shield and wings, if the legs don't go into them? So you can look down through the holes and see the legs?

That's another thing that's been bothering me as well. That VF-25 toy isn't very well integrated with all its parts.

  10. If it were just the helmet and priced around $300-450 range, I'd be interested if they got the Max blue right. I wouldn't want Apollo squadron's purple color. :p The Star Wars Master Replicas clonetrooper helmets went in that price range. And might I add that they had cushion support material inside the helmets so you could wear them.

  11. The admins deserve much more respect than an outburst comparing them to nazis and telling them to "piss off", and pulling a whole "look at me being abused" stunt. If anything the admins here on Macross world have been more lenient than ever. Hell Agent One is back!

The admins are here to keep the peace, keep everything smooth flowing, and keep the place enjoyable. That means locking up certain threads. That means enforcing the rules. The admins stepped in and asked people to stop spamming, and misterryno blew up.

There've been more than enough "free so-and-so who got banned by breaking the rules, having a bad attitude, and being disrespectful" threads over the years. They never do well as it just becomes a popularity contest, admin bashing, accusations of abuse of power, and so-forth. I forsee a threadlock, followed by an explanation of a number of things.

  12. It doesn't look any more vertical to me than some of the other 1/60 VF-25 pictures. Being the case, I don't see how that would have helped it make the legs sit lower even if the crotch was angled more vertical. If anything, having it be more vertical should make it appear even more squat as the legs would sit higher. The pose might be helping this 1/100 appearance-wise, but it does appear to look less hunched and have slimmer legs and an overall slimmer build.
