Yes....I have all the Macross related issues so far
-
Nice!
-
Ok, good to know....only collect the Macross releases, so hopefully they keep releasing them
-
Are you saying it's yours or you know who owns it?
-
Hope so...it would be a nice FU to HG....

Those troublesome worms have already been unleashed from their cans during Rebels...unless they plan to do some massive retconning on what the World Between World is and can be done through it, which will upset the rabid fanbase, it will need to be addressed in Ahsoka....of course, they can go the Midichlorian route and just never bring it up again....lol
-
Considering HG's continued blockade of all things SDFM/DYRL from Japan...this sounds like a great addition to anyone who has picked up the latest Udon Tenjin "Artistry of" Macross books...note how it is titled "Artistry of the First Macross"....lol I'll definitely be picking this up as soon as the PO drops....

I think the Inquisitors are easier to explain away.....someone not as versed in all things Star Wars can just assume they are more Sith, like Darth Maul.... However, Time Portals, Giant Wolves and other Force beasts could be a tougher sell....but who knows

It'll be interesting to see how the series explains all the concepts introduced in Rebels to the uninitiated...

VF-1J PO is up.... https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/251482?o=1

Most Japanese Macross books are not in English, which I am sure you already know....the Sorties books definitely would qualify as the type of Japanese Macross books that hardly need any understanding of Japanese to thoroughly enjoy the art and not feel you are missing out....most of the text in the books can easily be translated via Google Translate I would say the MasterFiles books, for example, have way more you lose out on by not being able to read Japanese, sure you can use Google Translate, but there is just so much to translate vs the Sorties books....and due to the subject matter in the MF books, Google seems to struggle more with them... Anyway, the 2nd Udon Tenjin book was announced months ago....but it's not like the toys that have constant chatter about them once announced...I can see how you would have easily missed the announcement

Maybe because what you really want is a 4th Sortie book

I received my SDCC 2023. Toynami ShogunWarriors VF-1S.... To me, the biggest difference visually is the box...with the big Macross logo....the figure itself seems to be slightly more off white....not much else to say....the biggest gimmick is obviously its size.... ....one other thing I thought about as I looked at it...would they dare do a Jumbo SDF-1? Destroids? A TV N-Ger? This line is already expensive with a single release....
-
LOL...Swan, you are like a Macross stalker

New R-Area Macross doujin is out...thought they had stopped releasing these... https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1236036177&ref=list&keyword=Macross&lang=en

Not to derail the thread...but just wanted to point out the name of the illustrator of that particular image....Masami Watanabe.....imo, the mostly unknown third member of what I consider the trio of illustrators that define the art of the SDFM era....Masami even worked and is suspected of being responsible for many of the toy and kit boxart....unfortunately, he hardly ever receives any credit....even the recent Macross boxart book, as far as I know, doesn't credit him for any of the boxart... My hope has been that some artbook could be published that would collect his unique illustration style, which covers several anime series beyond Macross, but it seems as if his memory will continue to be lost in time...

The Google Translate app is pretty good at translating these type of magazines....
