Dunno, if you ask me, it is just a shame for original trio to be completely gone forever, especially since they weren't around since 80s, if we only talk about anime. Plus, even after all this time, they are still the most iconic characters in franchise, not counting major supporting ones. I mean, sure, their fate kind of seems bittersweet, romantic, and mysterious, but maybe something could be done with the whole center of galaxy, black hole thing, like where they ended up in the future, or rather current time of next main series. ... But then again, their story IS concluded, but being around as supporting cast, with maybe Minmay finding someone for herself... Damn it.

I already saw this video once... Can't tell what exactly, but something feels really wrong about how original series characters look in it. Maybe that they should be redesigned for decades newer animation. For instance, in Macross Zero, Roy looks nice, because he was redrawn to fit into 2000s anime.

I mean like sequel, or something closely related to Hikaru, Misa, and Minmay, and maybe some other characters. Maybe even (soft) reboot. - haven't seen anything post Frontier series, btw.

Is Macross II now canon? I hear it's like a black sheep, although I think I liked it...

Really happy that there will be new anime; hopefully with some faces from the first series like Misa and Minmay. I always wanted to know what happened to our heroes when they mysteriously disappeared... Most likely I'll rewatch all previous Macross titles in order of airing before watching new series.

I recently finished with listening Fire Bomber's albums and started with first Macross Frontier soundtrack by Yoko Kanno, but there are also few vocalist (Megumi Nakajima, May'n and Maaya Sakamoto) who are credited under different names. Now, for instance: Welcome To My FanClub’s Night! (Sheryl On Stage) Some sites say that May'n is a performer, and some Shery Nome starring May'n. What are correct tags (Last.fm geek)? I'll be grateful if someone would provide me with full track list and correct artist for each track.

Well, Misa trully touched me during tea-party scene in DYRL?. Also, if Milia could sing, there's no reason why Misa couldn't, especially because she have so tender and calming, almost depressing voice. And to add, I must say she's probably first Macross character which I saw and remembered long ago before I've started watching it. Altough, I (veeeeery blurry) remember watching Robotech dubbed on Serbian during 90' as a kid, but nothing of story.

Where can I download this DVD image for this remastered version with subtitles? And 25th birthday? Interesting number of years for me to start loving this movie, and overall franchise.

Lynn Minmay, the voice who tamed the Giants. Even though I first saw her in Do You Remember Love? which I first time watched few months ago, her, I mean Iijima's voice was so beautiful (as she is) that often listen to Macross: Mari Iijima Song Memory - MINMAY Sings for You and other Iijima's albums. One of my overall favorite anime characters, ever. She's also one of the main reason why am I so hooked up to Macross franchise in few last months.
