I'll go to fry's or Best Buy since they are always cheaper.

I just saw the Fry's Electronics ad...it's $49.99 (but I gotta wait until 4PM for pickup) plus you get a shirt and poster. How much is it going for at Best Buy?

I'll take a guess that Best Buy's is 49.99 too. They don't discount video games like they used to.

I don't see any similarities between Macross and whats going on in the world right now....none at all. To compare a storyline of cartoon to what's happening in Iraq, is an insult to our troops that are there and especially the ones who will never come home.

Oh, and Mylene's songs are my favorite! Those and the song where Basara thinks he's Bruce Dickinson.
At least he didn't say "Scream for me!" to the crowd! Ugh one of the greatest metal singers of all time, Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) being compared with one of the worst anime characters/singers of all time, Basara.

Got my PS2 copy last night...I love this game. Heihachi and Necrid are a waste.

PS2 cuz that what I got. None of the retail stores in my area have any yet(Best Buy, Walmart Circuit City). They wont get it until the weekend. I'll have to stop at EB games on the way home.

Hmm well my most prized possesions were my Takatoku 1/55 VF-1S and VF-1J...sold those to buy more 1/48s....I know sacriledge

The 1/55s don't do it for me anymore. I'm in the process of selling the rest of my 1/60s and 1/55 reissues. 1/48s only for me.

Like this was any surprise lol

August 22, 2003 - This December, lucky fans of The Lord of the Rings will get the chance to see the ultimate in-theater movie marathon.New Line Cinema has announced that it will be releasing the extended DVD versions of both The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers in select U.S. and Canadian markets two weeks before The Return of the King opens. About 100 theaters in the U.S. and 20 in Canada will participate.
Fellowship will be first, hitting venues December 5th. The Two Towers will follow on the 12th, and on the 16th, there will be a marathon in which audiences will be able to watch both films back-to-back, directly followed by the first midnight showing of The Return of the King.
Although this is quite a limited release, New Line Cinema expects additional theaters to do one-time showings of the two extended films.
Also on the subject of The Return of the King, a nice new series of posters for the third film have been revealed online at the film's official website, as well as some new desktop wallpaper.

Ya Yamato's stickers are awful. Too thick, don't stick, peel etc. Takatoys sheets for the 1/48 are awesome.
-
I might ebay this one already. The Amored Core series needs to be totally redone.

Media Blasters gets my vote for best anime distributor for releasing my favorite anime series of all time, Berserk. Even though some of it came out in 2002, the rest fininshed up in 2003.
ADV had really good year too. RahXephon and Devil Lady are some of my favorites. I gave up on Dunbine already, reminded me of Gundam a little too much. Ya I know Tomino was involved, that's the other reason I gave up lol
Pioneer. Most of their titles I don't care for but they have done a good job with X and the first DVD of Heat Guy J.
Manga? Read or Die eh ok. They'll never release Giant Robo so I went and bought the Korean box set. Awesome
Bandai. This company has really fallen of the map for me. Titles like Love Hina and .hack//sign, I have no intereset in at all. Big O season 2 is coming to DVD in December though....and Witch Hunter Robin starts in Sept? so things are looking up.
Viz. The only series I like from them is Inuyasha. But until they release an actual box set/brick of the 1st season, the bootlegs of the R1s from F/X(which are very good btw) will have to do.

Really? I wonder how Yamato was able to convince BW with the 1/60 and it's non anime accurate removable legs? go figure
Well, technically the legs do come off and reattach. Yamato merely omitted the transfer system.

Yep, and I believe G already explained that issue waaaaay back on the old boards, and right smack in the middle of the "removable leg vs swingbar" debates.
Ya I kinda remember those debates...2 years ago? 2-1/2? It's been a long ride...

As for the 1/60 gunpod, Yamato wanted to making it right from the begining with a collasable handle. I've seen and handled the prototype. However, they were not allowed to do this by the licensor as a collapsable handle gunpod was not considered 'anime accurate' It took several releases before BW could be persuaded to change their mind.

Funny how we have the new MW forums and the same old complainers with the same old tired arguments are still around.....

I've never seen macross 7 and am considering getting it. how is it? how does it compare to the sdf macross tv series? do they have the vf-1 from the original show?
If you care what your friends think of you... don't see it with them.
lol so true. I just tried explaining the show to my friends who have a mild interest in anime and Macross. They looked at me wierd. My wife usually walked out of the room when I was watching it, saying what crap it was.
Me personally, I think the show is both awful and disappointing. There are alot more anime series worth your time than this show. Don't be fooled by the Macross name, not everything Kawamori does is good.

On its own. Bundled with any type of armor would cost too much.
-
HHH still the champ and and an announcer(Jonathan Coachman) turns heel? oh boy...no wonder I haven't ordered a WWE PPV in about 2 years...
-
How about TV Max "J" or something unique like the Low Viz? These DYRLs are getting old....................and boring...................
Since the Hikaru VF-1J is coming, I wouldn't be surprised if a Max and Milia 1/48 VF-1J will be available someday.
-
I'm just buying 3 for now. I've been unloading stuff on ebay to help pay for them.
-
I've owned at least one of every Yamato product sold so far except the 1/60 VF-1D, but I've sold most of my collection.
Here is what I currently have:
1/72: 2
1/60: 4 (soon to be none)
1/48: 5

I'm going to buy 7 sets of FAST pack.
Based on my conversations with Yamato yesterday, although they are trying their best to meet the end of August release for the FAST Pack, there is a possibility that it may slip to first week of September.

Toys R' Us Japan has the release date as 09/12/03

I only want Hikaru and Minmay. But if anyone finds them let us know where.
Oh yah are they going to make more. I would also like a Focker, Max and Millia.
According to the box, the next stage is due Feb 2004. If that set includes Basara I'll have to burn it lol

I wonder if more of the first stage figures will be availible. They seem to have vanished, online at least, awfully fast. I'll keep an eye out.
-
HLJ doesn't have them up for sale right now and the prices on ebay are just ridiculous. These figures are around 5.00 a piece, not 18.00-20.00 or 39.99 for that Minmei doll.
-
I'm buying both. I love this movie. Macross stuff can wait.
Also the LOTR diorama sets from Play Along(who is affilated with Art Asylum) are just starting to come out. I saw these on display at Wizard World Chicago, very cool.
-
One thing though.... is it just me, or does it seem like the ppl who work at EMS play soccer with our packages? Damn those things arrive all beat up and stuff.

Never had that problem. Never had a problem with EMS from anyone(CDJapan,HLJ, KoreanDVDs.com etc). Its fast, just expensive.
Why did HLJ stop using UPS anyway?
LOTR Fellowship and Two Towers

Hopefully they will play the 10 hour marathon at one of theaters that serves beer or I'll have to sneak some in
