  1. Latest in Trigun Toy Tribe series!

Imported from Japan exclusively to North America via Diamond Comic Distributors, the Gungrave: Beyond the Grave 8-inch action figure is a remarkable representation of the main character from the action packed PS2 video game. This figure includes variant heads, 2 "Cerberos" guns, and a coffin accessory that pops open to store guns, and sports real metal chains.

Beyond the Grave comes in window box packaging designed by game and Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow. Scheduled to ship in December 2003 for $49.99.

Fans can find these and other great products based on todayfs most popular video games at their local comics shop, or by contacting the Comic Shop Locator Service toll free at 1-888-COMICBOOK (1-888-266- 4226) or online HERE.

  2. How common is it for R2 anime DVDs to have english subtitles? I know Macross Zero doesn't but what about Macross Plus?

    Its not that common.

The Japanese region 2 version of Macross Plus has the English audio track and Japanese subs. No English subs. Also its one episode per disc.

  3. Ya Daewoos are good region free players. I own a 5700 and S150. The S150 was just 46.00 at Sam's club!. Just a few remote key presses and you're there. The S150 plays raw Mpeg files btw.

    check here for info

Usually Region 2 anime DVDs are what I buy. There are some Region 3 DVDs I'm looking into as well. They are alot cheaper than the R2's.

I mainly bought a region free player for Macross Plus Movie Edition. After the half assed version Mangle put out, I couldn't take it. Also I picked up a few others(Macross DYRL, 20th Annv DVD, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust with Japanese track/no subs). I did buy the first episode of Macross Zero on R2 but at 50.00 a pop I said forget that and am just sticking with the bootlegs.

Now if only a remastered R2 version of Fist of the North Star the movie on DVD would come out...

  4. I do have an additional suggestion though, the Giant Robo OVA DVD set that was put out this year in Korea. It has excellent subtitles, and is a phenominal OVA in and of itself. Note on this one, do "not" get the HK set, get the actual R3 release (which is R1 compatible). It's now available in a 5 disc box set.

Good suggestion. I bought the Korean version a few months ago. There is a bootleg of the Korean set but I wanted the original. It says region 3 on the box and DVDs but its actually Region 0 or all. Its got the horrible Mangle dub, Japanese audio, Korean audio. English subs. Its a good set.

They are finally back in stock

  5. AVOID everything from 2003 execpt for Saikano.

Nadesico was great, Votoms, all the Gundam UC timeline Tomino shows, Hokuto No Ken, Now and Then Here and There, GTO, Patlabor, Gunbuster. Stick with the classics, their much more deserving of being watched than shows that are all flash and no content.

The new Ninja Scroll TV series is good. So is the new Shin Hokuto No Ken,

(Fist of the North Star) OVA.

Skip Gundam btw. It all sucks. Including UC. Dunbine will put you to sleep. VOTOMS on the other hand is an awesome show. The original Fist of the North Star TV series is good too just very long.

and again to anyone check out BERSERK

  6. Is anyone else totally losing interest in Macross Zero? I find that after watching episode one I was left saying "It will get better with the next episode". Now after seeing episode two I'm left saying the same thing, "Maybee it will get better in episode three"... The only thing keeping me watching M0 are to see the new designs that may become toys. All in all I find it to be a very poorly executed show. I would really like Kawamori to prove me wrong with future episodes because IMHO Macross has not had a "great" show since DYRL, everything since has been lukewarm at best.

Kinda of "eh" attitude for me. I actually liked episode 1 more than 2. Its no Macross Plus but at least it isn't Macross 7. I like Macross Zero but I'm not totally in love with it like some on MW.

Anyone else think that the animation doesn't mesh well? Its real obvious that these episodes were done months apart. The character designs....in some scenes are really ugly. When Roy and Shin are drinking a beer in episode 2 for example. The mech designs? eh ok I like the VF-0 in fighter and gerwalk mode, that's about it though.

Also the BGM music is subpar. It's just there. It doesn't add much to the feel of the show.

  7. I know it was said earlier but BBTS has then for 64.99 here's the link

    http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/subtoy2.asp?...?Queryid=mac085

I'm sure that BBTS had a pre-order price of $54.99 for the 1/48 FPs, and now they've raised it up to $64.99. That's a bit outrageous as NCS has the better deal on 1/48 FPs (only $49.00US!) and the two new VE-1/VT-1 (at $78.00US! each). NCS may not have the 1/48 FPs in stock now, but they're coming. S/H from NCS isn't too bad either, I paid about $11.00US S/H for UPS ground and I got them within 5 days (ordered Thursday, got it the following Monday). Overall I saved around $36.00US with NCS over BBTS and I got mines before BBTS got their stock in.

Ya it was 54.99 for preorder of the FP kits and their prices for the Super O and Elintseeker are crazy 100.00! I'll take a guess that most store got hit with higher shipping cost due to unexpected sizes of Super O and Elintseekers boxes. They're probably trying to make it up.

here is the link to NCS if anyone needs it

  8. There will probably be more 1/48s after the Hikaru VF-1J. I think the Max and Milia VF-1J are a no-brainer. The Max 1/48 VF-1A looks to be a slow seller,

so I doubt a DYRL Kakizaki VF-1A will show up.

I think after the Hikaru VF-1J 1/48, I'm done. The cost is getting ridiculous.

  9. Hi Monkey Nugget. I need the following 1/48 parts:

    BP1 Back plate bottom

BP5 Right tailwing for the Hikaru VF-1A

    BP8 back hinge

BP10 its the litte white piece that sticks out of BP9

    and 2 1/48 sticker sheets

    Thank you

  10. .  Also, the 1/60 has better posability when it comes to the legs.  The 1/48 cannot compete with the 1/60's "A stance."

I really disagree with that. 1/48 legs are alot more posable than the 1/60. Plus the 1/60 legs rotate in the wrong spot. The "A" stance of the 1/48 blows away the 1/60. Also the legs don't fall off.

The rest of your points I mostly agree with. There are few proportion issues in the 1/48 Battroid mode I don't like. Plus the gaps along the side look really bad. Those side panels don't help much. The back hinge should have been made stronger or copied from the 1/60. The VF-1S doesn't suffer the small head problem like its 1/60 counter part. The VF-1A? Maybe a little. But its not a full face like the VF-1S or VF-1J.

I like the way the 1/60s look but its the lack of stability and balance in Gerwalk and Battroid (due to the diecast legs and its transformation) I don't like about it . Yamato should have made a way for the legs to reattach more firmly.

  11. Back in the days of a good economy, VF-1 nuts on ebay and no reissues in sight, I paid 550.00 for a Takatoku 1/55 VF-1S at Wizard World Chicago in 1998. Don't own it anymore. And later that year I bought a Bandai 1990 Super VF-1S 1/55 for 600.00. I thought it was a good deal since at the time they were going for 900.00-1000.00 on ebay. What an idiot...I did sell it for around 500.00 about 8 months before the 1/55 reissues started to hit.

  12. The secret to maintaining a hobby: sell the stuff you don't care too much for anymore.

I'm getting ready to pelt eBay with about a hundred auctions for the truckload of crap I cleaned out of my apartment this week. It's all sitting in boxes in my basement and some of it has me also wondering "why the HELL did I buy this?"...

    Oh well, G.I.G.O. a-go go!

What happens when you start running out of stuff to sell? like me lol :D

Ya I did what you are about to do for along time..but now I'm getting to the point where I don't have as much or valuable stuff to get the money. I'm sure I can find something, I always do.

This month is a killer for me in the real world of money...

  13. I did panel lines on the custom Hikaru VF-1S I made..I cheated and used a fine tipped black Gundam marker. I was going for the "anime" look.

I'm not a fan of that Gundam Marker because it's too thick for most panel lines. That's why I opted to use a Sakura Pigma micron 005 pen instead.

Ya I know. I had to thin out the black a bit. Do most hobby stores carry the one you use? I'm looking to try something a little better than a crappy Gundam marker.
