  1. I only saw the pictures of the nightmare today.

It's not striking, it looks quite dumb looking to be honest and the absurd high price i doubt anybody except a crazy person here and there will buy 1 or even more. Quite disspointing...

The anime look doens't work, they should have gone for a more realistic mold and half the price for me to be remotely interested in this mech.

  2. why are they doing this again SO SOON? i haven't fully recovered from the last sale and now they have even more i want! definitely planning to max and milia VF-22S but i'm really tempted to get a VF-11C along with a bandai koenig.

Maybe you haven't noticed that they are putting just about anything on sale. Likely to do with lower sales due to the Fukushima problem.Alot of people are not so eager to buy from HLJ at the moment, me included.

  3. About the same items as with Crismas.

For those who don't own a max or miria 1/60 VF-22S this might be a good deal. I'll see maybe next month i'll get the armor parts for my 1/48 VF-1J.

I still limit myself to 1/48 scale for the VF-1's

  4. I agree the old 1/48 boxes are very big and should have been made smaller, this is good for everybody as they cost less to make, they take less room and they also cost alot less to ship (shipping is a killer on these guys...).

Yamato has begun shrinking them down as can be seen with the last 2 reissues of the 1/48 VF-1S (and they could still be made smaller). So you can sell all and wait for every 1/48 to be reissued ;). But this might not be a good idea given the numer of limited models...

30??? You need 3 of everything?

  5. Take some pics and show us!

The 1:48 VF-1 CF is a great toy. I really like the colors on that one! I just made a CF 1J 1:48 custom. Love my 1:48's!

I will take new Collection pics as soon as i buy a second detolf cabinet to put my macross in. They are really big and need alot of space to display.

  6. I don't wanna defend HLJ or anything, but i've bought items from them for the past 10 years without any real problems.

Yes their site is a mess after the last upgrade, some searches just give you everything except what you actually search and yes their ordering system is not in realtime linked to their inventory and yes SAL can take a bit longer during the end of the year hollidays, but for the rest everything i ever bought with them arrived in impecable state, which i can't always say for other stores.

Yesterday my 1/60 VF-22S MAX arrived after 34 days from HLJ with SAL, it a bit long to wait, but as long as it arrives in perfect condition i don't really mind.

  7. I thank you all for voting.

My problem is sorta fixed as i managed to buy a second strik parts set today :), not exactly cheap, but what hobby is?

I decided to put the first set on the red VF-1S Hikaru, teh second will go on fokkers VF-1S

Also today i bought a 1/48 VF-1A mass production version, my 1/48 VF-1 collection is becomming quite conplete :)

  8. I don't see a problem with the current 1/48's, they are still the best in my opinion, you only need to add a few new versions like the Elint, a VF-1S max or the VF-1D version and reissue the striker parts!!!!!! because i can buy 100 1/48's but not find a single addon parts set for it at a normal price!

One detail they may fix is put the VF-1J's fixed big hands with all versions.

I hope on reissues in the new style box soon.

  9. For the S/S parts, it's gotta be with a 1S. Roy's, Hikaru's, it's your choice. I think it'd look best on MAX's, but of course it would mean that you'd have to do a little modifying yourself !

I'd love a 1/48 VF-1S max, but yamato did not give us one!! Heavy shame on them!!! Wonder why not, it's just a recolor. I still prefer 1/48 over the 1/60's even if the 1/60's are newer.

  10. I have a big problem:

I have numerous 1/48 VF-1's but only 1 1/48 set of super and strike parts (thanks to yamato for not reissuing then :( and me not willing to pay exhuburant amounts for an extra one). As i don't like the parts without the decals i need to put on matching ones with the valkyrie that will get the parts. Only with HIkaru i can put the red crossbone decals on it and place it on 2 models (VF-1A and VF-1S), all the rest of the decals serves only 1 valkyrie.

So you guys decide in my place :) or give me hints ?

  11. I broke again, i bought the 1/60 VF-22S sturmvogel II Max to complete the trio, to bad i allready had Miria from the last sale, she is now soooooo cheap (in comparison to the original price, still is alot for a single toy), who can resists that red :D

  12. Hey when you get your renewal version, can you leave a comment on quality?

Mine is missing one of the vernier thrusters and when I pulled out of the box there was a massive gap on the left side

where the body and the intake are supposed to come together and would not hold together properly and wants to pop

    apart.

I like the YF-21/VF-22S. If looking for something from the Zero line try the VF-0S re issue. I have the old issue VF-0A/VF-0S with ghost booster combos so I am not sure how the QC is on the new VF-0x's

I got my renewal 1/48 VF-1S today. As far as I can tell it is okay, it does not have the problems you mentioned. Haven't completely transformed it yet (lack of time), so other issues may arise later.

I like the new packaging, saves alot of shipping cost, but it has no flap which is a shame for a figure in this price range. Savings are nice for the Yamato but not for me.

  13. So much angst. Do any of you pilot Gundams ;)

My Strike is in the shop at the moment for a new spray of coating so i have to drive my old MK II around the whole time ;). Gonna have to save up to buy a new Freedom, goes alot more flymiles to the gallon with his nucleair power supply and the girls love the smooth ride

  14. Some people don't understand why you collect figures (don't call them toys any more because i don't think you wanna give a fragile 100$+ figure to a kid).

I on the other hand don't understand why people actually give money to see 22 idiots chase after a ball each week (or any other sport), but when you raise that topic they just walk away...

My parents accept the fact that they can't change me, it's not like i'm a drug addict, but some people are hard to please.

Other subject: do you collectors always put all decals on your yamato figures?

  15. A provisional picture of my small 1/48 VF-1 and 1/60 Macross zero collection. Most still need their decals to be applied and 3 figures are not in the picture. I'm working to bring that in order.
