1. Can anyone point me to a Kapool kit? The big green ball-like mecha that Soichie uses in Turn-A Gundam?

Thanks! One of my favorite mecha of lates... too bad it's only a 1/144 :(

Is it "historical" Gundam unit? Or a special for Turn-A?

    I hope it comes with a 1/144 Sochie-chan!

historical it also appeared in ZZ Gundam under the same name I believe.

  2. perhaps there is a way around this. REDO DYRL. new cells, CG up the wazzo! and licenced all legit. after all, if no one claims the copy write of the original, who is to say they can claim a remake?

i know there's a fault in this but... someone point it out... or wokr this idea into something better?

No offense but that's got to be the most retarded thing I've ever heard. I mean really, to take probably one of the most perfect examples of hand-drawn animation and attempting to outdo it PLUS crap it up with CG would just totally rape my childhood.

What if we made it live-action WITH CG? :p

Wasn't somebody going to try that at some point. I mean sweet zombie on a stick that sounds awful!

  3. The Orguss Valkyrie itself is a cross between a Valkyrie and an Orguss, hence the name. Just an animation joke, nothing more. There's plenty more in the series and movies, such as the already mentioned beer and sake missles, Macrossonalds, Hikaru's VF-1D crashing into Tatsunoko, Artland, and Studio Nu, with the Studio Nu mascot's expression changing as it's hit by the Valkyrie.

Dont forget Captain Harlock's jolly roger which appears on one of the zentradi ships in "Love Drifts away"

  4. The problem with the Turn A design is a lot of people don't bother to see it in action. They see an image and just jump to the conclusion that it's ugly or whatever and don't bother being opened minded enough to give it a chance. Once you've seen it in action, every forum I've gone to people have said they were wrong about their first opinion and seeing the Turn A in action changed their opinion and it's look didn't bother them anymore.

It's kinda sad really that people just look at the design and automaticly write the show off as a result. It does make me wonder just how big the ratio is between those that actually care about the stories in Gundam compared to those that only care about the mechs and the action and don't really give a damn about the story or characters.

Agreed! I like the Turn A design becuase of its originality. For this show they did something besides seeing how many heavy weapons they could strap on it and how many V fins they could slap on the head.

And it is a really good show too. That seems to be getting rarer as well.

  5. I would also like to see more turn A. Maybe a Prequel detailing the days leading up to the end of the dark history. (People who have seen Turn A will know what I'm talking about. I dont want to ruin it for anybody else.)

An animated version of char's deleted affair would be cool too.

  6. The future of Gundam should be death. It's outlived it's purpose.

Gundam, for better or for worse, will never die. We may never get another good UC story, sure... but when the SEED universe has outlived its financial usefulness, another "reinvention" will occur, a new Gundam alternate universe will be born, and legions of 12 year old fans who either haven't watched the originals are don't appreciate the originals because they're not fully of flashy new animation will post things like "New-character-X would totally PWN Amuro!" or "WTF?! Char is such a rip-off of New-character-Y."

This don't appreciate the originals thing will only happen in US. In Japan, Amuro and Char are like national heros...

    311910

Somehow in a really lame sort of way the fact that they are national heros comforts me.

    311911

Yeah. I mean, I guess that's better than Yoda or Chewie...

    311944

    Yeah...

    :::cold wind blows:::

  7. Again?

Should somebody tell a lame joke before this thread is locked?  I think that's what happened ath the end of the last one.

2 guys walked into a bar.

    The third one ducked.

Well we're done here see you next time everyone.
