  1. I've been toiling over a similar issue for a while.

I've gotten both Special Edition Weathering versions of the Destroid Tomahawk (Tan and OD-Green), and I've been wanting to get extra sheets of the water-slide decals for those, to use on my standard varsions. The sicker sheets just don't cut it.

So far, it seems my only option os to scan the 'Weathering' sheets, then reprint them on laserjet decal paper.

That is, unless someone knows were I can find extra sheets at...

  2. Heh - I'm probably the only one that got that reference.

Problem is that while that character was a Nazi, he really wasn't a villain. Hell, there were no villains throughout the movie - just a bunch of paranoid soldiers in the Cold War.

Agreed. If there was a villain at all, it would've been Gen. J Ripper.

  3. Hello, all!

I'm looking for RX-79(G) Gundam figures. The ones I'm wanting are form the mid-90s, and were blister-packed on cards. The few that I bought when they were new were at K-Mart, so that might be a clue.

To give you an idea, here's a pic of one.

    post-11341-127628022276_thumb.jpg

Please PM me if you have one or two you'd like to part with. I'm looking for a total of three.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  4. Though a live action version might be fun to see, just to laugh at in the middle of the theater...

The sad part is, the hard-core fanboys are clinging to any kind of Hollywood news, in the hope of it fruthering the cause of the RT:LAM. The latest craze is as follows...

Since Gillermo Del Torro has passed on the Hobbit, the die-hards are swearing up and down that it means that Gillermo is all rarin' to go for the LAM...

Sick, demented, and funny, but also sad and depressing at the same time.

  5. Actually, there is straight forward line art of the VF-1 in battroid mode.

    http://www.animelab.com/anime.manga/pics/Macross/220/20/macross.battloid.jpg

Caveat, this line art was not drawn by Shoji Kawamori. However, it is officially recognized by Big West and was drawn by a fellow member of Studio Nue, Kiyomi Tanaka.

Whoever scanned it in mistakenly credited it to "Seibi" Tanaka. Though it's a honest mistake since 精美 can be translated as Kiyomi or Seibi.

I wish I could get ahold of a schemetic like that for the Tomahawk Destroid... Is there, by some chance, something like that out there?

  6. Its really too bad that like anything, it all comes down to money money money rather than any sort of artistic merit.

    Taksraven

    I can't believe I'm saying this, but...

Why in the world would HG do anything, except for a financial return? 'Artistic Merit' means nothing to a business. In the end, every business in the world is set up to get a financial return on an investment.

(Damn, did I just DEFEND HG?!? )

  7. UPDATE: For those who care... (hearing crickets, proceeding anyway)

I got the clutch issues resolved today, and proceeded to build both arms, the backpack, and the GN-drive housings.

Tomorrow, I start on the shoulder-sheilds, and the weapons.

Soon, with the 0-Raiser's completion, I should have someting to be proud of!

    YAY!

  8. Considering they unashamedly used the man's death AND funeral proceedings to pitch the Robotech-in-name-only live action movie, I think anything anyone here has to say is pretty much fair game and in far better taste than anything that's come out of the Harmony Gold offices in the past month or more.

Oh puh-leeze... the man was an incompetent hack and a shameless liar who spent the vast majority of his career attempting to take credit for someone else's work. I'd say by now the man is fair game again, especially since Harmony Gold is gleefully and quite unashamedly riding his corpse's coattails in the name of promoting their crappy movie.

    Sorry, it doesn't fly.

One of the more refreshing aspects of this thread, as well as the site as a whole, is the tangible lack of trolling and flame-baiting. HG's practices aside, the comment was still a bit low, considering the standards that most people participating in this thread hold themselves to.

Just because HG's a festering pot of swill, and Carl Macek was a hack, doesn't mean we gotta sink that low. That's the kind of thing a certain podcaster does.

  9. That's a sadness, in itself. Regardless of weather or not the films get made, they've lost an incredible talent to compliment the films. One can only hope they don't settle for someone like Michael Bay, once the films do get the green light (A dubious prospect, at best).

  10. Carl's still working there.

Tommy: "Hey Carl. How it's going there buddy? What do you think of my Shadow Rising script?"

    Carl: "..."

Tommy: "It's fine as I wrote it? Thank you very much. You know, that's a good idea. This time we can write the final screenplay ourselves since we have experience from the last movie. So, what new products should we make this year?"

    Carl: "..."

Tommy: "Absolutely. It's too early with the economy the way it is. We don't want to spoil the brand with confusing products. Time for the next meeting. Want me to help you up?"

    Carl "..."

    That's in pretty poor taste...

  11. If memory serves correctly, pllanes have had a gold-tinted canopy for some time, starting with the A-6 Intruder's cousin, the EA-6B Prowler. The gold in the canopy was to protect the cockpit's electronics from the enormous amount of power from the Prowler's Electronic Warfare packages.

For me, the most noticable canopy to have gold inlay is the F-16's. Viewed the right way, you can barely see the pilot inside, what with the gold-inlay being so dense.

  12. i think i and others have been saying that all along. why did you get it an mg is on the way

First off, I wanted the challenge. A challenge, I might say, that hasn't beaten me, yet. All I have to do is find the solution, which might be to just remove the springs from the clutch-packs.

    Secondly, I wanted the light-up stuff. B))

  13. Maybe the large chests are so the women won't hurt themselves when thrown from their seats when the ship gets hit.

So, let me get this straight. If we look closely enough at the boobs, we'll see a 'SRS' stamp, as well as a decal telling us that, because of the unsafe nature of the boobs, we shouldn't put small children in car seats next to them?

  14. This thing looks AMAZING! Wow! It would be so awesome to do a photo shoot with the destroids + valks in this. Plus those LEDs really add to the atmosphere. If only I'm handy enough to be able to do something like this... LOL

Oh, there will be shots taken. Sice I'm the EXTREMELY LUCKY recipeint of this build, there will be some 'action' shots taken, to illustrate certain parts of my fan-fic novel.

I still cannot believe that I'm lucky enough to have this thing. THANK YOU, BLUE!!!!

  15. Maybe Macek said that it failed miserably before, but by the time of his A.N.N. interview, he said that the audiences in Houston loved the movie, and it was doing very well until Cannon got nervous and pulled the plug...

That's no surprise, is it? Every RT production story has multiple versions, depending on how old it is, how bad the outcome is, and how gullible the audience is.

  16. You really think so? I am under the impression that it is a very solid and well thought out kit. I've only built one PG kit which was the zeta. That kit was a very fun build and the design was flawless. All I have heard was good things about the PG 00 raiser. The cost is a real turn away though. I'm not willing to spend over 300 USD on a kit.

If I were to get another PG kit it would probably be the GP01 FB. The design is great and has so many accessories well worth the money IMO and cheaper than the 00 raiser.

I got mine (00-Raiser Kit) from HLJ for roughly $180 USD.

  17. Well, I just recieved my 00-Raiser kit, today, and to be completely honest, I'm a bit overwhelmed. It looks like it's gonna be a hell of a lot of fun to build!

For those folks who've done this kit, I have a question: In the head unit, do the eyes glow, as well as the red crown-piece?

    Thanks.
