    I think I must be one of the few people who actually likes that new VF-25 design...

    You are not the only, and I dont think that we are a "few" ;), its a good desing.

    The usual problem with a new desing is that you cant reach all tastes, if this desing seems a gundam desing is not strange becouse there many desings done in gundam after to many years, and its not bad becouse some of gundam desings are very good works.

    A must buy for me :)

    Although, didn't they do the evil songstress schtick in Mac-Plus?

    If Sheryl does turn out to be some kind of spy, but still a good person at heart, then she's probably being controlled much as Brera was.

    Well, in the TV show there alot of references to others shows.

    My suspect that we´ll see a great M-Frontier vs M-Galaxy combat, with VF-27 vs VF-25 combats, is strong.

    Well there's that... Plus, it just looks like a$$, making it that much harder for me to suspend my disbelief. I really don't see why they couldn't just paint the regular super-armor pink and call the squadron the Pink Peckers or something; that would've been far more visually acceptable than that, that... Twin-barreled, Gundam reject-inspired monstrosity.

    I can see why the new pack is light on weaponry, they won't need it: when the Vajra see them, they'll just laugh themselves to death.

    They are calling this thing an "Atmospheric" unit. How can covering up your leading edges on the wings make this an "atmospheric" unit? Why would something designed to look like a airplane need an "atmospheric" unit? Put all the boosters you want for a space configuration, but I would hope that the people who designed the plane version of this thing would have considered "atmospheric" flight when they designed the thing.

    Epic fail...or just another excuse to sell more models.

    Well, you need detach the super parts if you go to the atmosphere, instead the VF-27 dont need to do so can use bosters to obtain more advantage.

    With this new pack you dont need detach the bosters, so you have the same VF-27 advantage.

    I understand why is called atmospheric unit, you can go in with it.

    Not sure why people are saying the ankles are fragile. Doesn't look to me like they would break easily, unless you deliberately tried to break them.

    Mind you, with the amount of toy breakages reported by our members, I tend to imagine you all as ham-fisted 300lb ogres anyway........LOL :p

    Anyway, back to the EX-Gear. It's a nice toy, but I won't buy anymore as I'm really only into VFs, not character figures.

    I didnt find any problem in ankles, but the chest armour have a close mechanism that is very tense, remind me the crotch problems of VF-1, easy of close but dificult of open, trying open it you can break easily the mechanism.

    Everything else have the usual strongly, not for ogres ofcourse ;)

    Ohh MAN, EX-Gear f'n ROCKS HARD! Bandai kicked my arse big time, thankyou Bandai!!! This is just as cool as a valk, just WOW.

    Pics coming, plus of the custom.

    I seriously recommend people sitting on the fence to grab it, i'll be grabbing all the other variants if that is possible (Sheryl hopefully, Mikhail and Ozma etc).

    Agree 100% ^_^ , Bandai done a great job in the EX-Gear ^_^ , I just need the Perfect Grade VF-25 and I´ll be in the Frontier heaven :lol:

    No worries these type of collectibles are much more readily available compared to Macross DRYL or TV cels. I am very patient... the hunt is part of the fun. ^_^

    The Bampresto Frontier figures are exelents, I must recomend a severe hunting, you´ll not be disapointed B))

    Respectfully, if you want a transforming Valk, buy the toy...

    It will hold up much longer than a transforming kit.

    Kits by their very nature are meant to be displayed.

    However, Bandai makes outstanding entry level kits.

    I've never seen the need to have a transforming static kit in the age of transforming toys with a quality never before seen, but that's just me... B))

    Is not just you, there to many old school builders that consider Bandai kits for kids or entry levels, with that demonic transformation, but as soon you consider the kit only for entry levels soon you are excluding your self to do a properly build trapped on old methods.

    You can do excelent models with Bandai kits, all depend of the effort that you put in, and is a true challenge make the kits with transformation, a plus that you can face or not and only experts can sucess.

    I dont want a toy, and hell I don´t want a model of plane mode, I want a Valkirie kit, that is not other thing that a variable fighter.

    Ooh, thanks for those - especially that last one! Looks much more like what we see in the Anime. And yeah, now that you mention it, perhaps Alto's is more obvious for being purple. Half the problem with colour accuracy is that Mikhail spends most of his time in the shadows, where he can snipe better. It's possible purple is grey, due purely to shadows.

    Yeah, I don´t know why I was thinking that armour is equal to superparts :wacko: , Superparts looks better in grey than in purple, I´ll paint my SPs in dark grey.

    That's something I've been curious about. I haven't compared episodes, but I can't recal any where the super packs looked purple. They always look grey to me. Anyone have any screen captures where the packs (super or armoured) look purple?

    Edit:

    Ignore the bit about the armoured pack. The pics some posts back show they're clearly moulded in dark grey.

    The question about the super pack still stands though. ;)

    WoW! your workbench is neat!! I wished I didn't work in such a pig pen...

    Congrats on your new arrival, can't wait to see a build up thread...

    Clean is part of work ^_^ , just kidding, the fact is that I haven´t much time, so I´m a slow builder <_< .

    I´m doing the kits doing parts one by one :unsure: , including the paint, so there no much mess arround.

    I wish be more dirty :lol: , and wish do a build thread but I´ll take ages in up an update :huh: .

    OMG, how many trees are there in that last pic? That seems like it'll take forever to assemble!

    The kit have 28 trees :wacko: , I've never seen a kit like this so complicated :ph34r:

    Build this kit with a complete work of sanding, fix and improve parts, painting, decals, and do final coats will take two months easy :wacko:

    I´m doing a complete work of an VF-25F now and just arrived an EVA-01 Perfect Grade which I should do a first build to plan fix and improve parts, and is waiting a VF-25F Ranka, VF-25G and RVF-25 with Super Parts, so I haven´t plan to start this in at least two months :huh:
