I was thinking of using this on the inside of a Mospeada face helmet to match the ones I bought from Jung.
Here's a pic...http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/toys/toys1/11.JPG

Here is the Macross Emblem that I used on the previous Monster. Print it any size you want.
Uh oh, you're all in trouble now! Welcome aboard wildgoose.

The Yamato Millia looks like she's praying

Or clicking her heals together 3 times...
Or saying "Please please please give me a real sculpt".

Battle Royale did nothing for me. It was just ok, like most Japanese movies I've seen.
I like Takeshi Kitano's (the teacher) other movies though.

Last two.
Pivot note:
Note the position of the legs in relation to the body in 'MAC-3'. This is with my custom Pivot installed. This is the maximum degree of pivot. 35 degrees either way is the maximum swivel allowed without removing parts from the build. There are 2 small boxes (parts P-2) (see Manual 3) attached to the rear underside which hit on the top of the legs during pivot. By omitting these boxes from a build you could actually get full 360 degrees swivel. I didn't want to omit anything so I settled for 35 degrees, which is still, fairly dramatic looking.
Also, in order to get any pivot at all, you must shorten part 'D-1' (see Manual 3) 1/4", and move it forward 1/4".
Weight problem:
Installing a Pivot also weakens the center of the model because the two halves are not glued together. The MAC is obviously front heavy with 12" worth of cannon protruding forward of it's center of gravity. All this weight tilted the upper body forward and opened a small gap in the mid section at my Pivot. To correct this, you may need to add weight in the rear to balance the upper body. Not much. I used 6, Sixteen Penny, nails inserted into the back of compartment Q-1(see manual 4) Add your weight before you seal the back of the compartment with part Q-4.
This seemed to balance everything perfectly and corrected the original forward 'tipsiness' of the MAC.
Barrels:
Don't even bother trying to use the barrel prints on sheets 'S' & 'T'. I spent four hours trying to get decent looking barrels out of them and finally designed my own from scratch using 'Picture Publisher.' I mentioned my 2 part design with 'skin'. Try it this way and you'll get some great looking barrels with little or no visible seam.
The main gun barrels are, by far, the hardest part of this model to "get right."

About the scale comparison, I thought a VF battroid was the size of a Zentran.
How come that the battroid is twice as big as Milia? Are Meltran smaller than Zentran?
Females are usually a a little shorter then males, but even so, they usually aren't half as tall (and she's even standing on her toes)
This must mean that the Q-Rau is not quite 1/60 scale.

Looks pretty good. I don't really care about the DYRL versions, but I would buy a TV green one for $80 or so. Otherwise, I can live without.
The two mechs I've been wanting are a green Q-Rau and a TV Max.

Can we get some line art posted in this thread? I tried pausing pictures of the VF-0 on the computer, but there aren't any good solid shots of it to compare to these prototype pics. From what I could see, Yamato did a very good job.
Maybe some of you just don't like the VF-0, are not liking the scale, or the removable parts, and letting it cloud your judgement?

The kit really doesn't look that good in fighter mode.
In what way? It looks close to the line art to me in fighter.

What about models?

Thanks guys, I'll watch the scenes in the movie again, make some measurements, and then get a quote for one of those cylinders.

Episode 4 was ok, but Shin seemed a little too happy to be alive considering what had happened to him in the past, and what just happened in that episode.
"Kanzaki.... Kanzaki.... I'm alive, I'M ALIVE!" And no "How far to paradise?" in the background while his brain boils in the desert. I think the OAV did a better job on that part. I did like the music cue when the MiGs appear.
-
Nah, I got it from overseas, and I don't even want to hassle it. It's a small part, I think I can make something to fit that spot, and no one will ever notice.
-
What the heck?!!! Is that possible? I would totally go for something like that.

Better size. Price is high ($350) for the whole thing, and like you said it's not waterproof. Maybe I can ask them for dimensions, and if they'll sell just the glass.
I'll e-mail them, thanks.

Got my Endoskeleton! Very cool toy! Lots of articulation.
I was missing one piece, one of the 2 struts on the back of the head. I'll try to make my own out of scrap metal.

Hey all,
After this auction get out of hand, I decided to try and make my own stasis tube.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBBI%3AIT&rd=1
I already have a vinyl Facehugger

After searching for hours on google, I didn't really turn up much info on what to use for the glass. I was thinking of converting a fish tank, but the closest I came was this one... http://www.customaquarium.com/tabletop.htm
Also, the top. I'm not sure what to use here either. I could use aluminum and bend and cut, but that would be quite a bit of work, and I'd have to probably buy some new tools.
I just e-mailed Frank Cerney to find out what he used.
Check out his custom tubes here...

I picked up the 1/60's and just bought one 1/48 as a "demonstrator" if you will. The 1/60's are my babies
