  1. Oh I must be blind, I completely didn't see that pinned thread. Thanks!
  2. Excuse me mods, but can somebody explain why my thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...t=ST&f=4&t=3842 was closed? It's a more than legitimate topic about a problem with my 1/48 and I was hoping people would respond and give me suggestions on what I could do, either in finding replacements, exchanges, or trading with people with extra parts. I also wanted people to be aware of issues with the toys that are less common than others.
  3. I haven't seen it here in Calgary.
  4. www.link2cooltoys.com in Toronto. Now, this isn't his fault. His packaging was excellent and the box was minter than any I've ever seen in my life. The corners looked like they'd been freshly cut. He only ordered one on my request so it isn't realistic to ask for an exchange. It's just bad luck for me and Yamato's shoddy QC more than anything. Damn $200 toys...
  5. Yeah, I have the gaps in fighter mode issue too. The problem isn't as simple as a mis-transformation. It's that the legs pieces are slightly different and the joints are started to slip-out/stress. I can see the black washer popping out of the ball-joint. The legs just don't match flush with the arms and the clips on the back of the fighter or the backpack. Because of this, the front section - the one with the intakes is always popping out. The clips are too weak and shallow so a lot of the Valkyrie has gaps and supposedly locking pieces just pop right back out. If I force them to stay together, it pulls the bottom of of the chestplate down and creates the gap. It's definetely not a mis-transformation, it's that the parts don't align right. There are also black specs of paint and dirt here and there. I can live with those, but gap and fitment issues and dents are really irritating. There's a small gouge on the forehead from sloppy separating from sprues by the factory! The wings have a good clean stripe paintjob though. My problems are all mechanical/structural. The fastpacks are good at least.
  6. I have a serious problem with my Hikaru 1S, I was wondering why the backpack wasn't folding properly and I found that there was a huge gap between the top and bottom pieces. It's not caused by loose screws or anything, but the plastic arrived bent from the factory. (part BP1) I've tried using hot water to soften it and bending it back into shape but all that has created is stress fractures. There is a huge seam and the engine wash flap falls right out. It's lopsided too and it curves upwards. There is no way to solve this as the plastic's natural shape has taken the curve and even glue and clamps would probably fail, the plastic bending itself back into a curve eventually. I've tried pressing it but no-matter what I do, it just bounces back out. I've disassembled it to make sure there wasn't anything in the way. It's clean inside. The corner is too far from the screw for the screw to have anything to do with it. The edge is simply warped. The second major problem is the cover that goes ontop of the pack (part BP11), it has a huge gouge in the top of it along with some black marks like dirt. I said in the other post, it looks like somebody at the factory made a dent with a greasy screwdriver or something. I see scratches around this area too, like it was scraped. Please see the attached image. How can I get replacement parts? Help!
  7. Can somebody with the good-quality DYRL DVD (I have the old, dark version), get a good screen cap at what the animation color of the DYRL fastpacks are supposed to be? I'm disappointed in Yamato's choice of green for the 1/48 packs and want to make them more of a navy blue (if I get an airbrush & pump for Christmas ). How about this? Too blue? Not blue enough? Too light? And to settle things, is the dot on his forehead supposed to be yellow or red?
  8. Go look in a toystore for a cheap toy that lights up. Steal it's on-off switch. I've done it many times when I needed a switch smaller than ones that I could make on my own. You should also try conductive paint instead of wires.
  9. I'm definetely not buying Prime. I hate this sculpt. The head is just horrible and I'm not especially fond of the legs either. I used my money on a 1/48
  10. I don't think so. If MW was able to show the shots that Graham has but cannot show, they wouldn't need to be scanned unless some Japanese mag got the scoop.
  11. Now one has to wonder why you keep buying them...
  12. Oh my g-d! What did I just do for the past 3 hours???!!! I'm going to fail!!! UN Spacy, I've really got to get going and study right now, I'll get a picture of that part later. It's obscured right now. This is definetely not the fault of the seller. The box was the most pristine I've ever seen anything arrive in. It was C-11 - more mint than factory. Same with every other package in the box. This was definetely a factory problem as the gouge has the same black specs of paint that I've found on other bits of the Valkyrie. I bought it from www.link2cooltoys.com, great service, excellent shipping, no customs (for Canadians).
  13. Sadly, I'm disheartened from studying and infact, despair of life itself because I can see through the window that something is horribly wrong with my Valkyrie... Part no. BP11 has a huge gouge in it...like somebody at the factor slammed a screwdriver into it.
  14. So how realistic are Macross's missiles? They are micro-missiles, seem to have ruthless homing capbility, manage to avoid each other when flying in an incredible swarm, and leave ridiculous amounts of contrails in space! Maybe that's a sign of inefficient combustion?
  15. SABRINA IS NOT NORMAL!!! I don't know how many of you realized this BUT SABRINA AND HIS FRIENDS ARE GUYS!!! They are cross-dressing as anime chicks and trying to arouse you.
  16. No, I just creased the box taking it out of the cardboard box! And this is actually my paycheck for this month.
  17. Whoops! I opened it! http://members.shaw.ca/snk/presents.jpg But I can't play, I have to study!
  18. I was about to post exactly that! That eyepiece was the awesomest thing.
  19. Okay, I'm definetely going out looking for that DVD! The only problem is I wish Grig wasn't on the cover! He's so ugly! Wish they had a Gunstar or something on the front.
  20. On my original Bluestreak, his liscense plate says DATSUN lol. I wish they made these guys 350Zs so it would match with their original incarnations as 280Zs. If you don't like the plate, make your own sticker. And since Bluestreak's arms are black, it's easy enough to paint them yourself with a can of anything from wal-mart. Finally, if you want the entire authentic Bluestreak look, get him a carbon fibre hood lol.
  21. Yes, seeing how it was shot up in BOTH the TV series AND the movie resulting in Roy's death. What did the Hikaru 1S ever do? Oh yes, it saved the Earth & the human race from destruction by killing the emperor of a few billion giant alien warriors.
  22. I don't get it, unless you used rum to do the lines Or maybe to wipe out ink? Glug Glug Glug
  23. heh... my smokescreen is less his arms due to the fact i gave up trying to transform him back to his car mode and got frustrated. Yeah, those arms are real tough to swing back around and back inside.
  24. The one thing the old ones have is the old-style pilot's seat with the two squares. I think it's more detailed than the "scooped out" version of the headrest in the new ones.
  25. Sorry Solscud to disappoint you, but the US versions are going to be plastic. Only Masterpiece Prime will have diecast content but he'll also have shortened smokestacks and gross "battle damage". This has all been confirmed through sightings of retail packaged Takara and Hasbro versions on Ebay as well as sources within Hasbro and from Japan. Masterpiece Prime IS NOT an Alternator so the diecast he has does not affect the Alternators line. That will stay plastic and I must say that Binaltech Smokescreen in Diecast is far, far better than the plastic version. He's basically a die-cast 1:24 scale car that happens to transform. The irridescent paint is fabulous and looks much better than the plastic version. Pictures you may have seen on the net don't do it justice and even comparison pics make them look relatively the same but they are definetely not the same in real life. Just in case you wanted to see, Binaltech Smokescreen versus Alternator Smokescreen: http://www.tfkenkon.com/collection/act156/
