It's all about actor staying active in their profession. If their roles were reversed, Tom Cruise may have looked like an old Brando by now!

I'm rewatching the Macross Frontier TV series!
Thom replied to Gamma00Ray's topic in Movies and TV Series
Compared to the two of them she, Ranka, was definitely the more innocent and less 'world-wise.' Very much the Minmei of the dynamic, though thankfully far less self-centered and whiny. -
Just finished Paper Girls on Amazon. There have apparently been some comparisons made to Stranger Things but they couldn't be more different. Other than the 80's setting and that it centers on a group of kids, this show deals with time travel - and with more cursing. Really liked it for the most part, though some scenes had the feel of a fan-film, which is in itself not a bad thing. The young actresses they got for it are really good too and really carry most of the scenes. I hoped it gets a second season.

Apparently it didn't make 'the cut' with Warner Bro as not big enough of a 'tent pole' to support a franchise. That and apparently lackluster screenings and a few reshoots that failed to fix whatever they saw was wrong. Not saying I'm gut-punched about it, as I was disappointed they didn't keep the character as a teen, as in the comics, and instead went with putting the character in her thirties. The big loss though, is not seeing Keaton as Bruce/Batman again! Dang blam-it! At least he'll still be showing up in the Flash movie. Right...? Oh well, here's to hoping the concept can be revamped at some point into a series with an 'age appropriate' character. https://thedirect.com/article/warner-bros-batgirl-movie-cancelled

$20 for three pair canopy?! I'll take that. I just hope I can do a good enough job on them.

I'm rewatching the Macross Frontier TV series!
Thom replied to Gamma00Ray's topic in Movies and TV Series
I rewatched that when I was making my own DVD set. Really hoping an official one comes out cause the visuals are lacking a bit with the one I made. Personally, I think Frontier is the best of all the Macross series, but that is nudging out the original series on only one front. The only thing that would put the original back in the top slot is if they modernized the animation. -
Yeah, I could watch that! Stallone? Alright. Stallone as a retired super hero?! Yes please!

1/72 F203 Dragon II Kit Proposal --Moscato Hobby

(Checks dictionary for more amaze-balls-like words...) Dude, that is looking phenomenal! Loving the dragon on the tail as well. -
A greatly detailed little city scape! I like it. I always thought the city was in the center body, esp with the scenes during transformation. Being below the 'knees' puts it in a place that looks pretty stable. But then, if the city continues into both legs then there could be a central district that would span a lot of moving area in between.

That's very cool!

The Orville New Horizons June 2, 2022 Trailer
Thom replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Caught up with the most recent episode and though I liked them both, 'Twice in a Lifetime' was especially good. Didn't know where the episode was going, and as per usual, they didn't pull any punches. Damn fine show. -

Thom replied to captain america's topic in Model kits
'...the frustration continues...' Not from this end! I've never waited for a kit like this to be first created and then made, and so maybe I lack 'customer experience,' but I am amazed by how fast it's going together. Keep up the good work! -
Oh boy! I'm pulling up chair!

Yeah, I had to go back and rewatch it again. (chuckle) The run time was alright for me, as I wasn't feeling like it was dragging. Much. As for the He's still a kick-arse villain. One thing I wish And then Eddie's Full Metal Concert! That was awesome! Like a concert from hell. In that way it was very similar, energy-wise, to the duet sung by Dustin and Suzie. Loved it! And I finally placed the face of the girl playing Vickie! It wasn't until she was in a full conversation with Robyn, mannerisms and all, that I realized it was the girl from Anne With an E, Amybeth McNulty. Another fine actor added to an already great cast. Now I just have to wait for season 5 to see how it all comes to an end.
