Well once again, welcome to the craze. There isn't another line better than HMR when it comes to display and playability factor.

Never would've guessed that I'd be collecting my Macross machines in this scale. It's a little easier on the wallet at least. That and we actually get enemy units.

I will probably spring for the Bandai DX 1/48 VF-1S Focker, though. Gotta have at least one of those.

  2. I want that Tomahawk too, dang it. Been waiting forever. I think it's the best looking out of all the Destroids. Planning on picking up two of them.

  3. That's too bad that they're shelf puppies. I have both Sylvie and Nexx and love them. I've always wanted a good, toy version of the VF-2SS. For so many years, the only thing out there was the old Bandai kit. Maybe one day we'll see a larger scale VF-2SS with better quality than the Evolution Toys release.

  4. That's kind of a bummer. I don't have loads of disposable income, but I was stoked to snag two Regults and a Glaug. Need my enemy squad.

  5. I wonder why Hi-Metal R has been the only Macross line to offer enemy units? Do Japanese collectors not like enemies alongside their hero characters? I'm glad we're finally getting them. It's just very odd that it's taken this long.

  6. There are probably many people here who'd know the answer to this question: Is the Hi-Metal R VF-1D the only Valkyrie release that includes the proper fighter mode stand adapter?

I'd love to have more of those, preferably without having to buy loads of VF-1Ds.

Critics are saying it's a good movie, better than Shitformers from Michael Bay, yet it's tanking at the box office, wtf.

Probably just bad timing, unfortunately. Going up against Aquaman and Spider-Verse can't have been good. I do feel it's the best Transformers movie so far and I'd love for them to continue with this "soft reboot," but so far it's not looking good. :(

  8. We need a TV Focker VF-1S to go with the 1D. While the Focker VF-1S Strike Valk is a decent stand-in, I'm sure a lot of people missed it. Hopefully the TV version is coming.

I think the major blunder T/T made was to let the price slip before any beauty shots of the final figure with all accessories shown, and with the figure release some 9+ months away. They should have done the opposite.

Why do I say this? Because by dropping a price-bomb like that with no corresponding eye-candy to back it up, most people will just say f*ck this crap and buy the 3P figures--WHICH WILL HIT THE MARKET FIRST!

Those people who already thought the Takara figure price is outrageous have now already spent 100+ on a 3P Prime, so spending $450+ for the Takara just a few months later would be even LESS justifiable. Had they released some slick glam-shots first, there'd at least be a chance that some spell-bound people would wait it out and patiently save for the official release.

This reminds me so much of the whole Disney/Star Wars debacle from just a few months ago. They thought, in their great hubris, that they were too big to fail, they could condescend to the fans with impunity and those fans would just lap-up whatever vomit Disney spewed-forth... And then the Disney/Lucasfilm/Kennedy machine got clobbered at the box-office and the merch sales took a nose-dive. Takara/Tomy may be next in line to discover the Peter Principle.

Damn it. I can only "Like" this post once.
